28/08/2024: I had excellent memories of this restaurant but then for years I hadn't been able to go back because I don't come to Chiavari often and when I passed it was always closed either because it was the wrong day of the week, or because it was closed temporarily, in short, bad luck. Yesterday I managed to go back. I must say the raw materials were of excellent quality, the seafood salad very good, the octopus unfortunately overcooked so that it was hard on the outside and too soft on the inside. The sauce was good though. Unfortunately we had a bit of the feeling of annoying the managers with our presence, we were the only customers at lunch, then only other customers showed up around 1.30pm but they were bounced away as the kitchen was closed. The general feeling was that they had opened just for us (I had booked) and what can I say, I hope they managed to cover the costs :-/

30/08/2024: Very noisy restaurant. The waiters come and ask 3 times if we have chosen even though we have been seated for barely 5 minutes and laugh when someone tries to pronounce a dish in Italian. Finally, the plates are cleared for two people while another is still eating. And all this for an exorbitant price with minimal portions.

24/05/2024: Locale accogliente ed elegante, servizio gentile e disponibile. Menù che varia tra proposte di carne e pesce, alternando piatti tipici liguri con proposte più originali. Apprezzato ed apprezzabile l'entree offerta con un assaggio di salmone marinato, molto buono. Abbiamo scelto per antipasto 2 tartare di fassona, per primo 1 piatto di tortelli ripieni di prebuggiun ed 1 piatto di pansotti, entrambi conditi con sugo di noci: buoni, forse un po' avanti di cottura. Infine come dessert 2 porzioni di tiramisù. Completano il conto 1 bottiglia d'acqua, 2 bicchieri di Nebiolo e 2 caffè. Ecco, il conto forse un po' eccessivo: totale 50€ a persona, tenuto conto che non abbiamo preso secondo e neanche una bottiglia di vino, mi sembra caro. Vorrei ora dare qualche consiglio al ristorante, ovviamente secondo i miei gusti e le mie sensazioni, spero siano apprezzati. In generale ho percepito poca personalità, sia nell'ambiente che nella proposta culinaria. Ambiente bello, ma un po' anonimo. Buona l'idea di proporre sia carne che pesce, si cerca di accontentare tutti, ma il tipo di piatti proposti mi ha trasmesso una sensazione di confusione perché non ho trovato un'identità definita: accostare piatti buoni, ma tipicamente della cucina regionale "povera" (tomaxelle, scarola ripiena, mandilli al pesto, ravioli al tuccu, etc) a piatti un po' più ricercati, crea confusione sul tipo di offerta che si vuole proporre. Nella mia idea un ristorante (o trattoria) dovrebbe puntare sui piatti tipici fatti bene oppure su una proposta alternativa, qualcosa di originale e che difficilmente si mangia a casa propria. Per come si propone il ristorante poi proprio non ci sta l'antipasto della casa composto da salumi, insalata russa, ripieni e polpettone: è quello che mi aspetto nella trattoria tipica... Per carità, sicuramente ciò che ho mangiato era buono, ma non ho trovato piatti per cui dire "devo ritornarci!". La carta dei vini, inclusa in una cartellina e poi contenente un foglio scritto a mano e con una calligrafia poco leggibile, sono una caduta di stile, rispetto alla presentazione del menù. E nella carta dei vini dovrebbe esserci riportata anche la proposta di vino al bicchiere. All'atto del pagamento del conto si riceve lo scontrino fiscale del totale, senza nessun dettaglio dei singoli prezzi, cosa invece quasi necessaria, tanto più se si sono scelti piatti fuori menù e vino al bicchiere, di cui si ignora il prezzo. Speravamo di aver trovato un ristorante di riferimento in zona, ma siamo rimasti delusi: mi auguro che sia ancora acerbo e possa migliorare.

24/05/2024: Cozy and elegant venue, friendly and helpful service. Menu that varies between meat and fish proposals, alternating typical Ligurian dishes with more original proposals. The entree offered with a taste of marinated salmon was appreciated and appreciated, very good. We chose 2 fassona tartare as a starter, first 1 plate of tortelli filled with prebuggiun and 1 plate of pansotti, both seasoned with walnut sauce: good, perhaps a little ahead of cooking. Finally, for dessert, 2 portions of tiramisu. 1 bottle of water, 2 glasses of Nebiolo and 2 coffees complete the bill. Well, the bill was perhaps a little excessive: a total of €50 per person, taking into account that we didn't have a second course or even a bottle of wine, it seems expensive to me. I would now like to give some advice to the restaurant, obviously according to my tastes and sensations, I hope they are appreciated. In general I perceived little personality, both in the environment and in the culinary offering. Nice atmosphere, but a little anonymous. The idea of ​​offering both meat and fish is good, we try to please everyone, but the type of dishes offered gave me a feeling of confusion because I didn't find a defined identity: combining good dishes, but typically "poor" regional cuisine " (tomaxelle, stuffed escarole, mandilli with pesto, ravioli with tuccu, etc) to slightly more sophisticated dishes, creates confusion about the type of offer you want to propose. In my idea, a restaurant (or trattoria) should focus on well-made typical dishes or on an alternative proposal, something original that is difficult to eat at home. As the restaurant proposes itself, the house appetizer consisting of cured meats, Russian salad, stuffings and meatloaf doesn't fit: it's what I expect in a typical trattoria... Of course, what I ate was certainly good, but I didn't find any dishes that made me say "I have to go back!". The wine list, included in a folder and then containing a handwritten sheet of paper with difficult to read handwriting, is a drop in style compared to the presentation of the menu. And the wine list should also include the selection of wine by the glass. When paying the bill you receive the receipt for the total, without any details of the individual prices, which is almost necessary, even more so if you have chosen dishes off the menu and wine by the glass, of which you are unaware of the price. We hoped to have found a reference restaurant in the area, but we were disappointed: I hope it is still in its infancy and can improve.

08/07/2024: The setting is very nice, the dishes less so. I ordered a first course (pansoti in walnut sauce) and from the price I expected a larger portion, furthermore the walnut sauce was tasteless and some pansoti were broken. We also ordered the tuna which, having been overcooked, had a too soft, mushy consistency. Reading other reviews, I recommend the place for aperitifs and drinks but, from my experience, not for the food.

04/06/2024: The menu is digital, it's a shame that many of the choices don't have the ingredients; I loved the atmosphere created by candlelight. We had 5 different cocktails and we all found them good🫶🏻

17/08/2024: We stopped for lunch. The waiter was young, very kind and friendly. We took two focaccias, unfortunately the ingredients felt like they weren't fresh and the focaccia was really poor. Nice location but suitable exclusively for foreigners.

13/08/2024: We ask for a beer, a aperol and one slice of spinach cake and it was everything really fine. I put 4 stars because I think is a little expensive.

03/08/2024: Really good ambience, food, and service! Fantastic selection of wines, both bottles and by glass. Had the pasta allá genovese and the fregola with lemon and shrimp - both were absolutely fantastic! Delicious desserts as well.
