29/11/2025: The Moretta Passed | Osteria Romana di un Tempo is one of those small Roman places you step into and immediately feel: this is real Rome. Right in the historic center, close to the Tiber, tiny in size but full of soul and character. We came for lunch and ended up staying longer than planned — every dish was genuinely delicious. The Ossobuco, the Roman-style tripe and offal, the beef liver and heart stew, the lamb loin… Deep, honest flavors — the kind you can only find in a true Roman osteria. Great wine selection too: thoughtful, natural, and perfectly paired. Service was warm and attentive in that effortless Roman way — welcoming without trying too hard. A small note: on a winter day, being the first to arrive, the room felt a bit cold at the beginning. But once food and wine landed on the table, everything warmed up immediately. A tiny restaurant with big heart — great food, great wine, true Roman atmosphere. A place you remember, and a place you return to. Highly recommended. In the heart of the historic center, near the Tiber, tiny but full of soul and character. We came for lunch and stayed longer than expected—every dish was truly delicious. The ossobuco, the tripe and Roman-style veal, the beef liver and heart, the lamb loin… Deep, authentic, sincere flavors—the kind you only find in old-fashioned Roman osterias. The wine selection is also excellent: thoughtful, natural, and perfect with the dishes. The service was kind, attentive, and welcoming—that simple, human Roman way that makes you feel good. A small detail: In winter, when we were the first to enter, the dining room was a bit chilly. But with the food and wine on the table, the warmth arrived immediately. A small restaurant with a huge soul—excellent food, excellent wines, and an authentic Roman atmosphere. A place that will last, and where you'll gladly return. Highly recommended.

16/11/2025: In early November, we visited Bagnoregio and Civita. Recommended by locals, we dined at the smoker. We enjoyed excellent cuisine and friendly, family-style service. We had rabbit and legume and chestnut soup. We were amazed by the aromas and flavors. The olive oil deserves a special mention, and we particularly enjoyed it.

01/09/2025: Excellent from the butcher to the restaurant. You can taste the quality. You can taste it.

30/08/2025: The restaurant is on a provincial road, relatively isolated; it consists of two rather welcoming rooms. The staff is friendly; we start with the first courses: trofie del macellaio and pappardelle with wild boar; the portions are generous and the dishes are tasty. For the second course, we order a fillet steak and a tagliata del chef (with an assortment of garnishes: porcini mushrooms, smoked provola cheese, and salad with parmesan). The tagliata—most of the portion—is very tough and difficult to chew. The fries are excessively greasy (wasn't it placed on paper towels?) and partially raw inside. The fillet steak is decent. The bill is a bit high for the quality of the meal: without wine, appetizers and dessert are well over €40/person. We were especially disappointed with the meat.

03/12/2025: I ordered chicken strips on Glovo for 8 euros. I'm attaching the photo here so you can comment on whether this isn't a scam. I also ordered mayonnaise, which never arrived. I also checked the delivery boy's basket, but there was nothing there... 8 euros. I think it's a scam. DO NOT EAT THERE.

07/10/2025: We took our first cooking class as a couple and it was a wonderful experience. Marco was wonderful and constantly available throughout the course. This course is divided into three parts: preparing an appetizer from scratch, a pasta dish, and cleaning the fish; it all ends with lunch based on what we cooked ourselves. Highly recommended for beginners or those who want to refine their techniques.

07/10/2025: This experience was gained during a beginner's cooking class for couples, where we prepared an appetizer, a first course, and a second course—in this case, eggplant meatballs, a gricia with figs, and sea bass with a zucchini sauce. Chef Marco was super helpful and patient. We'll definitely be back!

29/11/2025: It's the temple of prehistoric, carnivorous man, or what was there before, from appetizers to dessert, all meaty. The bitters from the Kiosk Factory are out of this world. Well done.

24/09/2025: The legendary Paradiso cake, soft and dusted with powdered sugar, that I used to get before going to Bonghi Elementary School, is unforgettable. It's a joy to see the business still going and to be able to get the same treats for our children.

21/11/2025: One of the best restaurants in Rome. Staff was so welcoming and truly cared about serving us. Truly felt at home for our meal. Food itself was also amazing and so fresh.

17/11/2025: We had a wonderful experience at La Vecchia Locanda today. For starters, I ordered the octopus with potatoes, and for the mains we had the ossobuco and a fillet mignon with wild mushroom sauce. The food was absolutely delicious — everything was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. What made our visit truly special, however, was the service. Our waiter was warm, friendly and genuinely attentive. He answered all our questions about the menu, shared a few laughs with us, and struck the perfect balance between being present when needed and never intrusive. He always made sure we had everything we needed and was right there whenever we wanted to ask for something or place another order. Today is my wife’s birthday, and she was surprised with a little celebratory “birthday cake” with a candle. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture, and it meant a lot to us. We had a fantastic evening and left with the best impressions. Highly recommended — a truly charming restaurant with excellent food and outstanding service. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

20/11/2025: What a wonderful discovery! We went there for a business lunch with colleagues. It took longer than a quick lunch break, but it's clearly a different experience. There aren't long waits, but they're still acceptable for a lunch break. The owner patiently explained the menu to us and recommended what to try. Everything was truly excellent! I'd like to return for dinner. The wine cellar is extensive, both in wines and spirits.

22/10/2025: After a long walk through the historic district, we were absolutely starving. A local friend recommended this place, and it did not disappoint! The food and wine were both excellent—authentic, delicious Roman cuisine that truly hit the spot

11/11/2025: The perfect place to enjoy a relaxing moment away from the hustle and bustle. A charming restaurant, the location is beautiful, with a large garden overlooking the lake. The appetizers were truly excellent, the first courses were also plentiful, and the staff was very kind and helpful. The price includes an appetizer, first course, dessert, wine, water, and coffee. The private parking lot isn't very large; we recommend arriving early to park inside; we parked on the street. We'll definitely be back! 👏🏻
