07/10/2025: We took our first cooking class as a couple and it was a wonderful experience. Marco was wonderful and constantly available throughout the course. This course is divided into three parts: preparing an appetizer from scratch, a pasta dish, and cleaning the fish; it all ends with lunch based on what we cooked ourselves. Highly recommended for beginners or those who want to refine their techniques.

07/10/2025: This experience was gained during a beginner's cooking class for couples, where we prepared an appetizer, a first course, and a second course—in this case, eggplant meatballs, a gricia with figs, and sea bass with a zucchini sauce. Chef Marco was super helpful and patient. We'll definitely be back!

29/10/2025: My Chihuahua Johann and I thoroughly enjoyed this youth hostel. They even warmed up size 2.527 non-slip socks for him in the microwave. He slips so easily on the oak parquet floor with his manicured nails when he brings me my aperitif on a tray. I wasn't so keen on the fact that the books in my suite weren't sorted by color, but I quickly had that taken care of. The porter clearly enjoyed himself when I threw peanuts at him while he was doing it. The view, however, was so-so. I couldn't see either the Eiffel Tower or the Sagrada Familia. Very disappointing. What ultimately convinced me to give it 5 stars without hesitation was that the German TV channels were arranged exactly as they are at home: 1 ARD, 2 ZDF, 3 Sat 1, 4 RTL, 5 Vox, 6 RTL 2, 7 Pro 7, 8 Beate Uhse TV. Wonderful! I'll be back soon, but this time not just for 20 days! Kisses, you little Romans!

03/10/2025: The reputation of The Hassler is not exaggerated. We recently spent 2 days there. I won't repeat all the wonderful things people have said. I agree with them all. I want to give a shout out to Antonina at the reception. I became ill on the flight over to Rome. When we arrived at the hotel early in the morning, our room was not ready. Upon seeing my condition, Antonina did not hesitate to find us a hospitality room so I could rest. She walked us into the breakfast area and came back to escort us up to the hospitality room. After a long and difficult plane ride, what she did that morning saved me. Your kindness was greatly appreciated! I am so happy that you were there to help me. Thank you. 30/09/2025: I relied on the reviews, happy to have finally found a place to eat good seafood. Unfortunately, I found the atmosphere to be very dirty and poorly maintained, no wine on the menu (and the one served was of terrible quality), the mussel soup with only a few mussels, many of which were closed and tasteless, the first course of spaghetti and clams (with only lupini beans) was inedible, and the dish of the day (gnocchi with salmon and pistachios) had a questionable flavor: they actually served me a plate of gnocchi with tomato sauce (and not with creamed salmon as I had been told) with literally two pieces of salmon and a few soft pistachio grains. The staff is very friendly, but everything else needs updating.

29/09/2025: My girlfriend and I had dinner on Saturday evening at this little restaurant across the street from our house. It was a totally positive experience, with excellent, fast service and the owners being incredibly friendly. The food was very good and the prices were honestly average. We'll be back.

09/11/2025: A fantastic experience. This small but cozy restaurant offers excellent traditional Roman dishes. The owner is exceptional, and the service is impeccable, with polite and professional waiters. The dishes are generous and reasonably priced. We ate a bit of everything, including the fantastic carbonara and rigatoni alla pajata, a specialty. Homemade desserts, and a truly excellent tiramisu! I highly recommend it.

03/10/2025: I rarely write reviews—good or bad—as I’ve always felt that my single experience may not reflect an establishment as a whole. But after spending three wonderful nights at Hotel Locarno with my wife and 3-year-old son, I feel certain that what we experienced is not unique to us, but the true spirit of this hotel. To begin with, the property itself is stunning. The rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully designed, the breakfast was delicious and satisfying for all of us (including our little one), and the evening aperitivi were always a delight. Every aspect of the amenities and atmosphere was exceptional. Then there is the location - to us, the location could not be beat. What truly set Hotel Locarno apart, however, was the people. From the playful and warm Davide, to the kind and gracious Maurizio, to the cheerful and informative Ricardo—every single person we met radiated genuine care and kindness. The professionalism, warmth, and personal attention we received were unlike anything we’ve experienced in other hotels, whether in the US or abroad. Traveling with a lively 3-year-old can sometimes be a challenge, yet the staff treated him with patience, joy, and understanding. It’s one thing to extend kindness to adults who know the unspoken etiquette of a place, but to welcome a young child with such generosity and grace is something truly rare—and deeply appreciated. We will absolutely be returning to Hotel Locarno and hope to make it our home base for longer stays in the future. Until then, we will fondly remember this beautiful hotel and the remarkable people who made our time there so special.

01/10/2025: This is a great little gem of a hotel for you to consider when staying in Rome. It's celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, so expect the quirky charm of an older establishment. The staff is attentive and courteous, and English isn't a problem if your Italian isn't up to par. Our corner room was large, as well as the bathroom. The claw foot tub was cool, but it made the shower less than luxurious (and a lot of water on the floor). Charming bar/restaurant seating area with a retractable roof. Located a few blocks from the Spanish Steps.

22/09/2025: Trattoria in the countryside, located high above Lake Scandarello - a very green and easygoing atmosphere, a quiet place for a "slow life." Fast and efficient service, friendly staff. Cool interior, pleasant outdoor tables (with a light breeze) in the shade, near the greenery. The fried coratella and zucchini were very tasty and plentiful. Excellent and plentiful homemade ravioli - with meat sauce. Tender and flavorful lamb, very good both in the fried breadcrumb version and in the grilled version. The mixed roast was a bit dry, not as good as the rest. Good bill: €69 for three for a full meal (without dessert), including wine. Fair and fair prices, considering the more than generous portions.

12/11/2025: Delicious food, an elegant yet cozy atmosphere in a historic thermal bath converted by the owner himself. Very friendly and attentive service; the owner speaks several languages ​​(Italian, German, English, French) fluently. I felt very comfortable and enjoyed the excellent food; I will definitely return on my next visit to Tivoli!

03/11/2025: DISAPPOINTING! A restaurant with a great atmosphere, good service, but a lot of show and little substance, tiny portions, and even the toppings were sparse. We had gone for fresh porcini mushrooms, but by 1:00 PM they had run out of them, only the frozen ones were available. The first course, a gricia with artichokes, was tiny and lacking in artichokes. We had the Jewish-style artichokes, but those were also miniature. Dessert wasn't any better: a strudel that was touted as homemade was made with soft puff pastry that looked frozen and was a truly ridiculous little piece!

09/10/2025: The food and service were excellent. We came on a Thursday at noon and there was no one there, but we followed other people's reviews and loved it.

07/10/2025: On our last day in Rome, we discovered this restaurant, a haven of peace in the bustling Trastevere. Exquisite home-style cooking and wonderful service. Highly recommended. I don't usually take photos of food, but here's one of spaghetti carbonara in a crispy cheese basket—spectacular.

03/11/2025: Lovely hidden, small (but very visible) gem. We got to know about this from Walkative (recommend that too for free tours). Doesn’t boast like a tourist place on the street, but at a corner. It’s a restaurant running since ages. Now the food is lovely. Being tired of pasta and pizza, we tried a bit of unusual dishes -Chicken roast with potatoes -Chicken curry with rice. Best part - they do have wines by 1/2 a bottle, so was able to have a nice one without spending on the entire bottle. Did see other tables any everything looked delicious. Staff is welcoming, a bit funny and warm. Great place for vegetarian and non beef/pork eaters as well.

03/11/2025: Delicious Roman food, the pasta is absolutely divine. We went once and had to go back for seconds and to try more dishes. Highly recommended. The desserts are also homemade and very tasty. A perfect 10 in Rome. The staff is very friendly too. Top quality-price ratio.

10/11/2025: A cozy place. Small and with a family atmosphere. We had what they call "pisa" (they were pizzas), baked potatoes, panna cotta, and tiramisu. Very good price. Everything was delicious. Excellent service. We'll definitely be back tomorrow.
