08/12/2025: The coffees and pastries were very good, although they got the coffees mixed up and gave us a cornetto that wasn't the flavor we ordered, but everything was still quite tasty and the place was very nice inside.
07/12/2025: Materia is a very well-kept restaurant with a welcoming, Nordic style. It's centrally located in the San Giovanni area, at Via Andrea Provana 7.
Excellent value for money. They offer excellent breakfasts, aperitifs, and dinner. They also have lovely desserts for afternoon tea. I've been there several times and have always had a great experience. The food is delicious, but not only that. In short, if you're curious, you have to try it at least once. The staff is young, welcoming, and passionate. I'll definitely be back.

09/10/2025: Went for late night drinks and a bite. Got the 5 type of raw seafood platter which was WOW, gourmet, super special, never had this level of fine raw seafood. Clearly prepared by the hands of an artist. Also had a pasta dish which was great. Chatted a bit with the director of service, a super nice and super professional young guy.
Very recommended, very special, not your typical place.

17/10/2025: They pass off products as others, poor quality wine by the glass, and even there they tell you one product then serve another... never again. You pay 13 euros for a ham and buffalo mozzarella platter, but the mozzarella balls are the ones from the supermarket and I can't even comment on the ham... too bad.
17/10/2025: We visited this restaurant recently and had a rather mixed experience. The appetizer was definitely the highlight of the meal: beautifully presented and with pleasant flavors. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal didn't live up to the same standards.
The carbonara was a real disappointment: flavorless pasta, unbalanced seasoning, and a taste that didn't at all resemble the traditional dish. The cutlet and chicken were average—nothing particularly bad, but nothing memorable either.
The final bill was quite high considering the overall quality of the dishes. In short, a place with some potential, but currently the quality/price ratio isn't the best.

15/10/2025: Historic venue in a prime location. Large outdoor and indoor spaces. The quality of service and customer service have deteriorated significantly over the years. The afternoon crowds are rather unpleasant. It picks up again in the evening.
29/09/2025: A delicious mixed platter accompanied by a sparkling wine from Abruzzo and a Pinot Noir from Friuli.
Outside dining is also available.
Excellent service, helpfulness, and a smile.

The appetizer platters were good, but the eggplant parmigiana was burnt and left a slightly bitter taste in the mouth, which needs to be reconsidered, especially since for €13 I expect better. The rice balls were decent, but the rice was overcooked, the pizza dough was too heavy, and the arrosticini were decent. Two beers were included, and €80 was definitely too much for the quality of the products.

11/09/2025: Tasty and fresh. The girl speaks good English, which made it easier to choose dishes and a cocktail.
07/09/2025: Disgusting. The first course was labeled "fisherman's tagliolini" but it was actually linguine with only mussels and lupini beans (not fresh!!! but already stale). Shame on you!! 16 euros stolen and a fried calamari and shrimp (17 euros) where underneath there was just salad to make it look bigger. Be more honest. At least about the quality.

The staff is professional and very kind, especially Sandra, and the tireless Stefano, who takes care of our every request! Pool tables, ping pong, table football, and board games are great for spending the evening! Super!
