03/04/2026: Next time, let us know (just write it down, a sign on the gate or maybe a post, or on the Google page) that there is a private party, so that no one has to travel a lot of miles to come and visit you… not to mention the great rudeness of the woman who told us “private party”.

19/03/2026: We've been there several times, but before the renovation. Today we returned. The place had a strong smell of a not-so-clean kitchen, average-to-low quality food, sauces and gravies that didn't match the type of pasta they were paired with, few desserts and not particularly good ones, a limited selection of liquors, and the service was always friendly but unwelcoming and uninformative. Superficial responses to specific questions. This new management doesn't live up to the restaurant's history. Unfortunately, we've lost a good place in the neighborhood.

22/03/2026: Excellent family dinner.
The food was truly delicious: the appetizer, the charcuterie board, and the prosciutto crudo were excellent, as was the lardo, exquisite, thinly sliced and beautifully flavored.
The wild garlic orzotto was superb, the beef tagliata was practically perfect, and the fried calamari was exceptional, tender and expertly cooked in fresh oil.
For dessert, the gubana (a typical local cake) topped with grappa and the zeppola di San Giuseppe (stuffed sweet bread) were sublime.
The price was fair and well-proportioned for the quality of the dinner.
We will definitely be back.

25/12/2025: An excellent Christmas lunch, even for me, who can't eat wheat. For the first time, a restaurant served me exactly the same dishes as the other guests, but without wheat flour, and I didn't have to give up anything! I'm only posting a few photos, but there were so many more dishes. Thank you!

02/05/2026: L'Alimentare is one of those places I always enjoy returning to. Refined dishes and top-quality ingredients, all accompanied by attentive, courteous, and welcoming service. The wine selection is also excellent, perfectly crafted to complement the menu. A place where you eat well and truly feel at home. Highly recommended.

13/02/2026: The cockerel doesn't seem like it used to be: tasty, but a bit dry. I assume it's reheated and the cooking method has changed, no longer grilled (even the takeout packaging has changed; it used to say grilled). I'm not saying the one at the supermarket is better, but if I spend €58 for four cockerels, I'd spend less than half that at the supermarket. Too bad. On the other hand, the service is always fast.

04/05/2026: I can't believe all the negative reviews I've read about this place. I discovered Sartoria a year ago and it's become my weekly treat. Personally, it's the best burger I've ever had...and I'll keep eating it!! (With stuffed jalapenos)
03/05/2026: I came here with my friends who run a half marathon and we're visibly tired. We ordered one small and two large beers to drink. We also ordered some fries. The beer came in a few minutes, but the fries never came. After 40 minutes, we were angry and wanted to go, we went to pay and they charged us the beers and the fries. The service was bad but it wasn't too crowded. Their slogan is "The best burger in town" but with the service that bad I don't think the food is much better either.

06/05/2026: Two out of eight pizzas (for a group of friends) were charred. How do you manage to bring certain dishes to the table? Dishes were brought at very different times (despite the restaurant being empty)...
Also, the glass was definitely chipped. The waitress seemed annoyed by the report.
26/04/2026: A lovely find in the center of Udine. A beautiful and well-kept place, with welcoming and friendly staff.
We had two excellent pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven, but the place also offers first courses, second courses, and sandwiches. We especially appreciated the dough and the quality of the ingredients on the pizzas.
Good value, I recommend it. We will definitely be back.
