17/02/2025: Were here in summer 2024. Maybe it depends on the waiter in charge. At the end of the meal, an envelope containing the bill is placed on the table. We put the money (+ tip) in the envelope and left, like we did 10 times before. This time an employee ran after us and claimed that there wasn't enough in it. Since there were four of us and everyone counted the money again, it was unlikely. Ok if you spoil someone's desire for the admittedly fantastic food and don't want them to come back. Hope the few euros were worth it

16/02/2025: Locale estremamente turistico, che mi è parso più orientato e attento a soddisfare le esigenze dei vacanzieri (soprattutto stranieri) che poi sono anche quelle che fanno incassi ‘facili’ piuttosto che affermare una ristorazione tipica nazionale e ‘personale’. Il che si traduce a mio avviso in piatti discreti, ben presentati, corretti se non abbondanti (i primi) nelle porzioni, ma che non hanno niente né di casalingo né di raffinato e innovativo. Una buona cucina standardizzata, con ingredienti di qualità ma presumibilmente non di mercato, proposta ad un prezzo corretto. Così si riesce sicuramente a soddisfare con successo una certa tipologia di turismo, sicuramente non quella che in una località di mare è alla ricerca di un po’ di schietta tipicità. La mia esperienza passa attraverso degli abbondanti spaghetti alle vongole (troppi, a mio avviso ma forse devono ‘sostenere’ il prezzo di 13,50 euro) e una frittura di calamari (15 euro, pesante e priva del sapore della freschezza di mare). Con un quarto di vino bianco della Casa (3,50 euro) e il coperto (2,50 euro) spendo 34,50 euro. Tempi di servizio biblici probabilmente per un incidente di percorso: la mia comanda si era ‘persa’ per strada. Ambiente curato, così come l’apparecchiatura.

09/03/2025: Cesare, the very nice owner, follows the people, good food, prices not cheap but in line with the location. The mixed grill of fish and vegetables costs 20 euros but is good and plentiful. Update 2025 something has changed in the kitchen and it no longer deserves cuisine for tourists from beyond the Alps... The dishes from a few years ago are no longer there and everything just costs too much

21/03/2025: Welcoming, intimate, warm place, with few well-spaced seats (great added value for me), excellent food. We ate the fixed menu (wine, sparkling water, appetizer, first course, second course, dessert and digestive). Everything was delicious, homemade (fresh pasta included), and with generous portions. If I have to find a single flaw, they could improve the extraction of the hood since we left the place with decidedly "smelly" clothes. But it is a flaw that many trattorias have with an open kitchen communicating with the room. Except for this, we spent a wonderful evening and will definitely return. One of the few "real" places left in the center of Trieste after the mass arrival of tourists. Absolutely correct price and in line with the quality of the food.

24/02/2025: Very welcoming hotel conveniently located. There are no rooms on the ground floor so plan to carry your bags up stairs. We had had intermittent wifi as our room was on the end of the building. Of course, this did not detract from the good experinces. One sincere thank you to the hotel and staff.

14/04/2025: Terrible evening. There are 3 of us, we ask if we can eat a sandwich (9pm semi-full bar) and they tell us yes, so we sit outside... and after 5 minutes the waitress arrives and tells us that they don't serve outside. So we propose to go get them ourselves and the waitress pretends not to hear and greets us. In disbelief, we're leaving..(if this is the desire to work you have...shut up, it's better). It was 9pm, you told us we could eat and then you sent the waitress out to say that you only serve inside!!! Make peace with your head!

26/01/2025: Maria e Vito ti fanno sentire come a casa ... coccole in famiglia. Pizza buonissima (è veramente una delle poche che mangio) con prezzi unici e rari. Ogni volta che torno mi ricordo il perchè. bravi!
