10/09/2025: An ideal solution for those looking to spend a few days in the Tidone and Trebbia Valleys, or the Piacenza area in general. Perfect for relaxing and enjoying a beautiful view of the Piacenza hills. Breakfast is excellent, and I recommend trying the food for lunch or dinner.

08/02/2026: La Lumaca is a rustic mountain restaurant with a wood-burning stove: the atmosphere is very warm. There's a beautiful panoramic view, with many birds passing by to retrieve the food the owners leave on the fence (sparrows, tits, etc.). The staff is very kind and friendly, as are the patrons. The charcuterie and cheese platter is very good; the polenta and cheese and the lasagna were delicious! We ended the lunch with cakes (which were delicious!) and a good coffee! The place is small, so reservations are recommended! They have books for children and board games! I recommend!

19/01/2026: A charming and informal place for a mountain snack. It's not a restaurant, but rather a place to stop for drinks and appetizers. The charcuterie boards are excellent, as is a wide selection of digestifs, including local ones. Being in the mountains, the best seating is outside, although there are also some inside. Recommended in summer for a pleasant day away from the city heat. The owner is friendly and helpful, although the other staff is more likely to rotate or be less experienced. Prices are average.

03/01/2026: Excellent, from appetizer to dessert... Fast service. Very friendly owners. If you visit the castle, stop here for lunch.

26/12/2025: The pizza was inedible, it looked like a stuffed cracker, the fries were cold, and the side dishes ran out at 7:30 pm. The cured meats and the typical dish were good.

05/03/2026: Didn't live up to expectations. The facility would be very nice, but it's neglected. The room was large but poorly maintained, the bathrooms old and full of limescale, the lights didn't work, and the heating was noisy all night. Breakfast was barely adequate. The spa was a joke, with a cold sauna. The only positive note was the lady who gave us massages, who was kind and professional (though she's an external employee), but she wasn't provided with enough towels or disposable kits. Sorry, but I'm not satisfied.

04/03/2026: Regarding the attached restaurant: excellent atmosphere, ideal for couples and a romantic dinner, attentive customer service, and high-quality food and dishes. Ample outdoor parking, interesting views of the castle from the outside, and an adjoining swimming pool.

13/08/2025: We returned to this B&B and restaurant after a good 20 years, and it remains one of our favorite places! The hospitality was top-notch, as always, and it's a great place to relax! The garden is beautiful, and as always, the food is divine! The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

13/03/2026: The hotel was renovated within the last 2 years and is very nice now. My room was bright, also the furniture. Seldom in hotels I found so good light in a room. Big desk for office work. Enough space in the cabinet, also for a longer stay. OK/ good room size. Comfortable bed. The bathroom not so big, but also not too small. Light at the mirror okay. 2 small minors in the room: tiny safe and no extra light on the desk. Breakfast on 7th floor, offering a great view to the city. From the terrace you have a 270° view. For breakfast they offer typical Italian sweet starters but also a local choice of ham and cheese and some warm meal. Good friendly service. For parking 15€ a day is much. And the garage in 2 basement floors is difficult to use with middle class size cars or SUVs. Possible, but challenging. Over all, best locatin in the center. Great stay.

08/03/2026: Wonderful hotel with welcoming staff, excellent cuisine, spacious rooms, and a very central location. We stayed with a group of 35 people traveling from Venice and will definitely return with our families. Thanks to all the staff!

15/12/2025: Given that we went on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, when there were a huge crowd from Grazzano Visconti, the workload was considerable, and some items must have run out, there's no excuse for the dishes not matching the description on the menu and the waitress's verbal remark when ordering: the meat was supposed to be baked, but it was stewed; the polenta was supposed to be served, but it was mashed potatoes; the tiramisu was supposed to be served, but it was a simple mascarpone cream. When paying, we mentioned all of this, but the owner didn't bat an eyelid. An apology would have been enough!
