14/08/2025: Borlenghi are good, but the price is exorbitant. 4 euros for a takeaway borlengo is honestly unbearable. We've been there several times, but that's enough now. It's not worth it; you'll spend a fortune.

08/08/2025: A total disappointment, I wouldn't recommend it. We arrived with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. As soon as we sat down, we discovered that the grilled meat—one of the main dishes—had to be ordered in advance, and they only had one portion available, even though the place wasn't busy. We then asked for plain fries, but again, nothing would do: the fryer wasn't working. The most unpleasant surprise came at checkout, when we noticed a visible freezer full of bread and frozen grilled vegetables in bags... exactly what they'd served us for dinner. A detail that confirms the lack of attention to quality and transparency towards customers. It's a shame, because the location has potential, but the organization and management leave much to be desired.

07/09/2025: Unfortunately I wasn't able to get anything because they wouldn't take my order, I went to someone else, the service outside was terrible with very little staff.

29/12/2025: My review is based exclusively on a coffee and a tea. Cathedral coffees cost €3.50. Can you bring me a coffee like the one in the photo? Spray cream disintegrated right away? Where are the sprinkles? A mint tea with lice in the leaves? No, sorry.

23/12/2025: Charming bar in front of Modena Cathedral, with both indoor and outdoor seating. A rich and tasty breakfast selection (even vegan! Excellent pain au chocolat). Friendly and pleasant service.

02/11/2025: My family and I used to go there often for lunch before the change in management. We've been twice since, twice to make sure we hadn't, unfortunately, stumbled upon a bad day. The place is nice, but we once again weren't impressed with the quality of the food. The burger was tiny, thin, and dry, for one thing, and the food in general was just plain awful. Plus, the portions were absolutely tiny for the price. It's a shame, because it was a regular spot for us.

08/10/2025: Bad experience. I ordered homemade tortellini in capon broth. They brought supermarket tortellini in stock cube broth (inedible). I ordered tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce (also inedible), runny ragù, and sticky tagliatelle from the supermarket. For my main course, a roulade with tomato sauce and tough green beans (inedible). A quarter of a liter of Lambrusco on tap and a carafe of sparkling water. Cover charge. Total €38.50. Bad experience. Never again!!!

01/11/2025: The star for the food isn't accurate because, unfortunately, I couldn't eat the pizza because the pizzeria doesn't have a POS in 2025, or it wasn't working. On a Saturday night? I was very disappointed, even though the aroma was truly inviting.

26/12/2025: During the Christmas holidays, we were in Serramazzoni for a walk in the snow. Looking for a place to eat, we found this trattoria open and stopped in somewhat blindly, discovering instead a truly pleasant place with a wonderful Christmassy atmosphere. A special mention: dogs are allowed inside, a detail that alone deserves an extra point. We started with crescentine (a type of pasta) accompanied by cured meats and cheeses, followed by lasagna and cacciatore. All the dishes were excellent: the flavors of the homemade products and typical local specialties were clearly evident. The service was well-organized, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. In conclusion, if you find yourself passing by Trattoria del Gallo, definitely stop by to savor their cuisine. Excellent work.

05/11/2025: The place is very nice, but that's the only positive thing. The food is terrible. The portions are generous, but if that means less quality, we're not happy with it. The lasagna was dry, the roast beef was tough, as were the potatoes. Everything seemed reheated. The service was so-so, as they served people who arrived later before us. Never again.

11/01/2026: A warm welcome from the very kind lady, delicious pies! The place is well-heated, and the bathroom is clean and tidy.

28/06/2025: Ei fu. Eccomi qui a comunicare la definitiva chiusura di O sole mio... Una stagione che finisce; e purtroppo dopo un lungo declino... È stata per anni la mia pizzeria preferita, quando a Modena giravano solo tristissime pizze sottili. Trovarla, li in periferia, sulla via Emilia est, fu un'illuminazione: "ma quindi anche a Modena si può mangiare la pizza napoletana"!!! Per anni fu la sola pizzeria che amavo frequentare. Poi qualcosa andò storto; dopo il trasferimento nel locale su via Vignolese (pretenzioso} qualcosa non ha più funzionato: tra crocchè acidi e pizze semi-crude ho dovuto pian piano accettare che la storia fosse finita. In più, mentre O sole mio tramontava, in città si moltiplicavano pizze finalmente napoletane e pizzerie con proposte di qualità sicuramente più alta. Ed oggi eccoci qui, con il cartello "affittasi" esposto sulle vetrine del locale. Comunque sia andata a finire, un bel ricordo della mia gioventù. Grazie

10/10/2025: A very serious episode of irresponsibility. A friend of mine, a celiac for 20 years, asked for a gluten-free piadina one evening: it was prepared and served as such. Today we returned for lunch and were told they don't make and have never made gluten-free piadinas. When we explained, the man's response was: "Okay, but you didn't feel sick." A shameful statement, which shows zero training, zero respect, and total disregard for the health of customers. For a certified celiac, even the smallest trace of gluten can cause intestinal damage, even without immediate symptoms. So the fact that "she didn't feel sick" is absolutely no excuse. My friend risked a serious reaction and actual intestinal damage, without anyone taking responsibility. In my opinion, what happened is extremely serious, both from a food safety and human safety perspective. I hope the restaurant takes this incident seriously, trains its staff adequately, and protects those with specific dietary needs: customer safety is not a minor concern.

10/10/2025: Rude, arrogant, and ill-mannered staff. I asked for a gluten-free piadina. They delivered a gluten-containing piadina. I went to the hospital because of them. I will take appropriate action. Avoid this place. After informing the owner, he exclaimed, "So... so, you weren't sick." You think you've never seen a worse place than this.

10/11/2025: Vegetarian/vegan options are always available, including a pizza option. Friendly and efficient staff. The bar is on the ground floor, while the cafeteria is on the first floor. Convenient parking is available just steps away.

09/11/2025: Terrible…€55 wasted on three tortelloni, a bit of gramigna, and two pieces of grilled meat. I'll never go back. What a disappointment!!!
