30/08/2025: This review is actually the culmination of dozens of lunches and dinners prepared at Franciosi over the course of over 40 years, from Easter Monday lunches with my relatives from Viserba, to those with friends on vacation, to those enjoyed in recent years with my wife and daughters. The great thing is that in 40 years, the quality hasn't changed, from generation to generation. For us Milanese, first courses are obviously the order of the day, and very often our dinners have consisted of large platters of pasta dishes and broth. But sometimes we've limited ourselves to the first courses to enjoy the excellent grilled meats, especially the mutton, which isn't common here. All good, all honest, all familiar. The only time I remember having any problems was about twenty years ago due to a mistake I made while managing the order for a group of penniless friends with whom I was returning from a vacation. Instead of trusting the host as I had always done—and as I SHOULD—I made a strange request, telling him our limited budget, which meant we had to stay within it, and we ended up eating so-so, obviously spending very little. Nothing could be more wrong. If you're in a group, you have to sit down, order nice platters of first courses, the house wine, and then second courses with sides to round things off, and the final bill will always be surprising, even if you order dessert. Franciosi remains one of my absolute references because it takes me back to my childhood and because it has managed to preserve the very essence of the popular Romagna trattoria restaurant, unlike other places that have watered down or sold out to a false sense of progress. May God preserve them for a long time.

22/08/2025: We usually order takeout, but we've had dinner there on occasion. What can I say? Excellent. Andre and Silvia are very kind (this is essential for anyone running a business these days!), helpful, and I might add patient, which isn't always easy under pressure. Excellent burgers and piadina/crescioni in general. See you soon!

28/09/2025: We made a reservation for a group of seven at 1:40 PM, and upon arrival, they told us they'd mistakenly given our table to someone else. They then told us they could have us eat at 3:00 PM. Obviously, since we couldn't wait until that time, we left the restaurant without being able to eat.

22/09/2025: Good quality cold cuts, light fried gnocchi. Tasty first courses and generous portions. Recommended.

04/10/2025: Exceptional selection, quality, and quantity, at very reasonable prices (the tortellini are top notch). Highly recommended for both business lunches and a relaxing moment with friends or family.

14/10/2025: Excellent bakery, the interior is very pretty, an old-fashioned style that I love. I only had a croissant and a pain au chocolat, and both were delicious, especially the pain au chocolat. I've rarely found anything this good in France!

18/09/2025: Excellent address, the pasta is great as well as the desserts. Special mention for the extremely friendly and helpful staff. Quite a few tables in the small square and a few in the alley. We were in the alley and it was perfect for us because it was more intimate. I highly recommend this address. Main course + dessert for me 20 euros. 25 euros with a beer

04/10/2025: I went last night for an aperitif with two friends because they'd spoken highly of it and I was curious. I have to say, 10 out of 10!!! We had the Deluxe menu with a bottle of wine, and what can I say? Everything was excellent. The place is beautiful, understated, not "posh," but still elegant. The staff is very friendly and gives you time to enjoy the food, although they can sometimes seem "slow," which is understandable given the amount of work they do (the restaurant is full). I highly recommend it both for a great aperitif (and the company is a plus) and for a seafood dinner. It's important to book to avoid wasting time.

27/09/2025: It was one of the very few noteworthy seafood restaurants in Parma, then they started to downgrade the quality a bit, leading to a change of location. Seats have almost doubled, the service is clumsy, unprepared, and disorganized. The attention to guests has completely disappeared; before, the owner (who wasn't even there the other night) took care of the guests; it was intimate and refined, a pampering experience. Today, the feeling is that of a pizzeria, with abundant food but inferior quality, with service that shouts into the intercom connected to the kitchen, rushes, gets the dishes wrong, forgets to open your wine, not to mention the wait to eat. I'm very sorry to be so blunt, but that was our experience. This place has completely lost its identity. I hope they want and can recover; at that point, we'll gladly return. Two stars of encouragement.

29/09/2025: I went for lunch yesterday, having found it by chance after a web search on my way back from Bologna. We ate wonderfully! The gnocco fritto and tigelle were delicious, along with a platter of excellent cured meats! The lard was spectacular. Fresh pasta dishes were the first course; I had the Lambrusco-infused cappelletti, delicious! The coffee was especially special, as you can choose from a variety of Arabica blends to suit your tastes; I really appreciated that. The atmosphere is modest but clean. The staff is courteous and friendly! Thank you.

05/10/2025: What can I say...when I come to Busseto to visit a dear friend and his wonderful family, it's a natural fit to have lunch at Gianluca's. A family-friendly atmosphere with excellent local products expertly presented and prepared by Chef Gianluca and his staff. Excellent value.

From the appetizers to the cured meats, the delicious lard and shoulder, the top-notch first courses, tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms or ravioli, and the meats, the cheeks were spectacular, the wild boar and rabbit were all delicious. To reach the restaurant, if you're coming from the north, I recommend not taking the main road, but taking a 15-minute drive through the Pavia hills, passing through Ziano and Seminò. The service is attentive and punctual, and made the time fly by. The dishes we ate were truly excellent! The fresh pasta dishes are simply breathtaking, generously portioned and flavorful. The tagliatella with porcini mushrooms is one of the best I've ever had. And the tagliata we ordered was also truly succulent. Verdict: A true spectacle in every way: food, location, and service. 16/10/2025: A lovely place on Via delle Volte, quaint and well-decorated. The service was excellent and fast, but I wasn't entirely sold on the food, especially the duck pappardelle. The pasta was fresh, but the sauce didn't quite hold together, perhaps because the duck pieces were too large. The tortelli with ricotta and mushrooms were good, but too delicate, the mashed potatoes with salami were too salty... and the cold cuts weren't that great. Anyway, it's a matter of personal preference, worth a try.

11/10/2025: I've never had such a good salami with mashed potatoes in Ferrara, truly amazing! Not to mention the pumpkin cappellacci. Super cute, very intimate place. Prices are average. If I may, the only advice I'd give is to increase the portions slightly because everything is so good you'll eat even if you're not hungry anymore! Five well-deserved stars!
