When we come to Porretta we always go back. In addition to the tartare, there are hamburger sandwiches that look really fabulous. Kind and super easy-going owners. That's the way to do it!!

From the welcome from the owner, to the service provided by two very polite and professional guys, to the food that was nothing short of delicious!
The idea of transforming the butcher's shop into a small bistro where no detail is left to chance is beautiful. Excellent wine list.
I will return soon with great pleasure 😍

25/06/2025: In a central square in Ferrara, a short distance from the Estense Castle, the restaurant with about 30 seats is rectangular in shape, on the long side on the left as you enter there is a counter and then a classic sideboard with a display case, in front of the sideboard there are dark walnut colored tables and chairs, predominant throughout the restaurant, a ceiling with beams of the same color and low lighting with jazz music in the background (at least on the day of my visit). Among the appetizers, between 14 and 16 €, in addition to various local cured meats including the “Zia ferrarese” seared and served with Fuji apple and superbly sweet and sour balsamic vinegar glaze, also a Vicenza-style cod with polenta and a Fassona meat tartare with quail yolk and mayonnaise. A special mention, among the first courses (also between 14 and 16€), goes to the cappellacci with Ferrarese violin squash, the sweetest of the squashes, which pairs magnificently with the cappellacci pasta in a pleasantly dense whole. In addition to the cappellacci, there are also strozzapreti always with violin squash, gnocchetti with aubergines, cherry tomatoes and salted ricotta as well as spaghetti alla chitarra with lime prawns and pumpkin seeds. The second courses include, in addition to sirloin steak of Scottona and pork ribs, grilled prawns and a special "mixed vegetable garden with grilled polenta and cheese fondue". Appropriately, the fondue and polenta compensate for the bitterness of the vegetables which are served slightly seared. The prices of the second courses range between 18€ for the mixed vegetables and 23€ for the Scottona and prawns. Surprise desserts (all at 7€). The wine list is not particularly varied but reasonably priced. Attentive service.

23/06/2025: My wife & I were visitors from Ireland. We walked from San Luca under the Portico on Sat 21 Jun back into the city centre and stopped in the Corner Bar en route where we were welcomed by a very friendly staff member and served by equally friendly staff. We had a delicious sandwich between us and a beer each. We were so impressed with the overall atmosphere and friendly vibe that we booked for a meal the following night. The meal consisted of delicious tapas which we thoroughly enjoyed with a bottle of Rosé. The staff were attentive and helpful, a particular call out to Miceh who checked in on us regularly enquiring was everything OK, we highly recommended this restaurant either for lunch or evening tapas, you won't be disappointed
22/06/2025: I sat in this bar on the Sunday of Strabologna. Serious mistake. People were running at me and this forced me to leave. In my haste I forgot my bag only to realize it 30 minutes later. I called and went there 3 times only to be rudely kicked out with a "I told you it's not here". A week later the police station called me to tell me that the staff at the corner bar had delivered my bag. Didn't you say it wasn't there? Once I recovered it, my documents were inside but they stole my AirPods and IQOS. I'm not insinuating that they took them but at least checking when I tearfully requested the loss of my documents could have been nice. Terrible human behavior, compliments to the "staff"

17/06/2025: Very good food, with fresh ingredients, excellent service, very kind waitresses and the owner (or at least I assume it is him) very kind to offer us a homemade amaro, which is also very good. Beautiful location, with the river that passes just below and a much-mentioned garden full of flowers. Fair prices. Absolutely worth a visit if you pass by the area

22/05/2025: Very positive experience. I purchased the personalized consultation and tried for the first time to color my hair myself with the dye herbs, following the various instructions given by Rozalia based on the needs I had. Everything went well. Excellent color according to expectations, hair strengthened and more voluminous, gray hair covered. I also tried the shampoo conditioner, katira and kapoor glow, all excellent products.
If you then take into consideration that it is a small company I feel like giving my compliments to Rozalia who follows everything with competence, love and passion.
12/05/2025: Ottimo il servizio. Personale attento scrupoloso gentile e cortese. Ottimi piatti. Ormai ogni volta che passiamo da Ferrara è un punto di riferimento importante. Ne approfittiamo anche per acquistare prodotti tipici di Ferrara.

The food is really worth it, especially the venison is a delight for all palates. The prices could be a little more moderate... Overall a good establishment that I feel like recommending..

This restaurant looks like a mountain hut, surrounded by greenery, built in wood. The food is truly excellent, cooked to perfection, good value for money.
Wild boar in salmí, tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, polenta with roe deer, sliced deer, truly exquisite dishes.
Being a place near Mount Fumaiolo allows you to spend a whole day surrounded by greenery, with some excursions and in contact with nature. In the evening they also make pizza!

14/05/2025: Ho fatto colazione stamattina chiedendo al personale un cappuccio e una pasta, mi è stato preparato un cappuccino in una bella tazza e la pasta che ho scelto ( un cestino di frolla con le mele )di mia preferenza . Alla cassa ho riferito quello che ho preso e sono rimasta di stucco per il conto , pensavo che la signora alla cassa avesse capito 2 paste ma in realtà era 1 e lei mi ha preparato il vassoio con quello che mi doveva ( quindi non si era sbagliata) Sono molto dispiaciuta di questa cosa perché in un paese come Finale che generalmente tra cappuccio e pasta non si spende più di 3,30 /50, spendere quasi 5 euro per una colazione mi sembra eccessivo oppure solo per pochi .

25/06/2025: Imagine a Florentine steak, perfectly cooked, with its deep red color and the inviting aroma of high-quality meat. The meat is tender, juicy and with a golden crust that melts in the mouth. Alongside, a glass of Chianti, a bright ruby red, with aromas of cherry, plum and a touch of spice. The flavor is balanced, with a good structure and a light tannic note that marries perfectly with the meat.
Top experience, over and done.

The meat was excellent, I was surprised that we left two welcome plates on the table (very good).
