24/08/2025: August 15, 2025 Unfortunately, I have to update my review following the change of management. We had dinner on the evening of August 15th. The staff was in a state of disarray, and they brought us drinks intermittently, and I had to ask more than once because we'd started eating without the wine and the child's Coke. I skipped the coffee because no one showed up. The food was good, but in my opinion, the standard has dropped a bit. I hope it's just temporary and they need to adjust their approach. ------------------------------- 2021 "True home cooking...excellent food, all homemade, from pasta to piadina!"

27/08/2025: Simple, pleasant, and clean. The menu is traditional yet meticulously crafted, with delicate yet bold flavors. Excellent and fast service. The tranquility was the perfect backdrop. From one to ten, an eight. A place in the Modena area worth a visit. An experience to repeat.

31/07/2025: On July 29th, I had lunch at the refuge. The service was friendly and quick, but the portion of the leek tortelli (two of them, like small, thin focaccias for ten euros) was too small, even though they were excellent. The place is beautiful, especially the surroundings, and has long been a household name. You can pack a picnic lunch, surrounded by greenery, and leave the place clean.

27/08/2025: Excellent location, perhaps regular customers are given more consideration, adding two chips to the tray with appetizers would have been more welcome, but could be improved.

24/08/2025: What can I say? We stopped by chance, found a simple location (but they're the best!), a friendliness and familiarity now unknown in many places, regular guests (Franco and Franca) were incredibly friendly, and to top it all off, we ate incredibly well! Crescentine with cured meats and spaghetti al torchio with carbo-onion were amazing! Thanks, we'll be back.

02/08/2025: Fantastic thin-crust pizza. It's also good the next day (not a given, in fact quite rare!) Good ingredients. A shame about the tomato puree. I understand that such a thin-crust pizza can't handle a rich, moist sauce like that made with peeled tomatoes, perhaps hand-pulled (not blended). Obviously, compromises have to be made. However, excellent cooking and overall quality. Highly recommended for bruschetta as well.

10/07/2025: Thin pizza, but I remedied it with the double dough, tigelle inside the chicken-shaped container, very nice and delicious

17/08/2025: I dined at this trattoria in August with my family. It's located next to the Ludovico Ariosto Theater, and as soon as you enter, you breathe in the air reminiscent of history and tradition. This same tradition is reflected in the dishes, including strictly handmade pasta and tortelli, and the time-honored flavors of Reggio Emilia's finest culinary specialties, expertly explained by the owner, whose words clearly convey his love and passion for his work. The platter of cured meats, parmesan, and fried gnocco are excellent. The tortelli dish is highly recommended, all accompanied by a fantastic house Lambrusco, and to finish, the zuppa inglese (trifle) and a herb liqueur unlike anything you've found anywhere else. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Reggio Emilia, a truly beautiful city, both for its churches and historic buildings, and for the relaxed atmosphere it exudes.

11/08/2025: Unfortunately, this is without a doubt the worst plate of pasta I've ever eaten. It was completely overcooked, and even if it had been cooked to perfection, the sauce was still unpleasant. I couldn't even manage three forkfuls, and I ended up paying almost 50 euros.

21/07/2025: A decidedly positive experience. A summer dinner for two, a table outside (right on the sand, beautiful), a decidedly sophisticated atmosphere with soft, unobtrusive lighting, and good spacing between tables. There's also a piano bar, also on the beach. Truly, very good. The menu was varied, with the obvious choice being fish, with only raw appetizers (excellent) and a truly spectacular first course of paccheri with lobster. The wine list was good, but not exceptional. The staff was courteous, helpful, and never intrusive. The price was reasonable, but not excessive at all. Definitely worth returning for, a wonderful place.

14/07/2025: Lunch with friends at this truly charming and beautifully decorated beachfront spot. You're greeted by the very friendly, but above all, very professional, staff... Taking orders by heart and remembering every dish you order isn't for everyone! The cuisine is certainly sophisticated and superior to other places. The dishes are prepared with attention to detail, and the fish you order is even shown to you before being cooked, if you so choose! This is for absolute honesty and to avoid any surprises. Definitely a recommended location; the prices are a bit above average, but given everything I've said previously, that's fair enough.

21/07/2025: Al Ristorante L'incontro si viene accolti sempre con cordialità e calore; i proprietari sono affabili e competenti, ti accompagnano nella scelta del menu' e nell'abbinamento dei vini senza essere mai invadenti. Quando i piatti arrivano a tavola ci si delizia prima di tutto guardandoli e le aspettative che si creano sono ampiamente soddisfatte ad ogni boccone. Persino i piatti unici sono un trionfo di colori, profumi e sapori! Lo frequento da anni e appena sono in zona mi fermo a mangiare e ne approfitto per scambiare due chiacchiere piacevoli con il Sig.Gianfranco e la Sig.ra Luciana e prima di andarmene non manca mai un saluto al grande Chef Carlo Gozzi. La passione è l'ingrediente principe di questo ristorante! Consigliato vivamente per chi vuole condividere un'esperienza piacevole con i colleghi di lavoro e ancor più per chi desidera degustare il buon cibo e buon vino sia a pranzo che a cena. Everyone was wonderful, from the hotel staff, the manager Paolo, the bartender Roberto, to the Big Up entertainment team made up of the great Jimmy, the legendary Stefano and Elisa, and even others like Dick, Rachele, and Jasmine. 09/07/2025: A great place to eat local and traditional dishes. We ate authentic Ferraresi cappellacci. Delicious. Once with the traditional ragù sauce and once with pecorino cream. Fast and high-quality service.

05/07/2025: Traditional, home-style food in Ferrara. A real hit. We ordered cappellacci di zucca with ragù, which was exquisite. Tagliata di manzo with truffles was also very good. House wine at 10 euros a bottle, which was great value. Delicious panna cotta.
