Traditional Emilian cuisine done very well: flavorful and well-seasoned tagliatelle with prosciutto ragù, tortelloni with an excellent ricotta filling (though they only serve butter and sage), tender sliced ​​Angus beef. Finally, zuppa inglese made just like home. Fast service. Unfortunately, two things didn't quite live up to the food: the wine was already opened and the lady's acerbic and unfriendly demeanor when making very simple requests. She was very friendly with returning customers, but much less so with us, our first-timers...but that just made us lose out.

The traditional Emilian dishes are high-quality, but there are hundreds of typical restaurants in Modena where you can eat just as well or better. The rude service isn't worth a cent of my money; the blonde owner is the complete opposite of the restaurant scene of this era. Maybe 30 years ago it was fine, but it's 2026. If you have to pay more than €45/50 and be treated condescendingly, without meeting the needs of the PAYING customer, in a restaurant that doesn't have the space and acoustics to accommodate a certain number of people and where they instead improvise unsuitable tables, then I confirm that this is not the right place for me.

Il Mattarello

01/03/2026: I stayed two nights in Sestola and, on the hotel's recommendation, tried this restaurant. A welcoming place, impeccable service, and a varied menu with excellent homemade dishes made with quality ingredients. Special mention goes to the owner, who was very kind and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant!
22/02/2026: This is the second time we've stayed at Camping Sestola and we've used the Mattarello Restaurant, and I must say it's consistently 5-star quality, service, and friendliness! We were a very large group, including adults and children aged 3, 4, and 5! Excellent food Impeccable service So much patience and kindness with our children! We'll definitely be back! See you next time!

10/04/2026: great music, service and atmosphere then a table too loud prevented us from hearing the music and made communication between the 6 of us difficult... only negative thing but due to the rudeness of customers.
