07/05/2025: Sehr schönes Restaurant im Natursteingewölbe. Freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung. Die Speisekarte ist klein , aber gediegen. Wir haben den Abend genossen.

26/04/2025: Ristrutturato con grande successo, il complesso di Aquatio é veramente bello ed accogliente…..tuttavia il servizio (vino versato macchiando tovaglia, impossibilità di cambiar tavolo, etc) ed i piatti non sono ancora all’altezza. Da migliorare! To be improved!

16/08/2025: I called ahead to book a stay at the pool. Today, given the weather conditions and what happened yesterday, July 15, 2025, due to bad weather in Basilicata, my friends and I decided to cancel our reservation. When I called the facility, a gentleman answered. As soon as he learned we wouldn't be coming today, he was extremely rude and belittled what I had said, saying it wasn't true, that he believed it was sunny there right now and therefore it wouldn't rain this afternoon, and many other things... He was truly unprofessional. I wanted to point out that bringing your own food or drinks into this facility is strictly prohibited; you are forced to buy everything from there.

26/04/2025: excellent breakfast with cream and black cherry pastry, delicious and then deserving foamed barley, very kind staff always smiling, congratulations, keep it up 👏👏

31/03/2025: HORRIBLE. Breakfast in the bar coffee...burnt at 7.00? Check the machine! Lactose-free cappuccino with milk strictly boiled in the pan where normal milk was made. Croissant served to me boiling hot so I had to take it away because at the first bite it was burning hot and was a raw/sticky mass, so I asked for a little bag and annoyed she handed it to me rudely. To pay? The cashier had to first chat with the back kitchen telling me it's urgent, I'm coming!? But is everything ok? Not at Materana. All this for €5

11/07/2025: Consigliato da amici andiamo alla scoperta di questo ristorante in quanto cercavamo delle pietanze tipiche locali, che riportassero ai sapori di una volta, quelli della cucina tradizionale, tramandata ma rivisitata in chiave moderna. Locale accogliente e ben curato, personale cortese e fiero di spiegare il piatto, materia prima.di ottima qualità e bontà indiscutibile. Sui dessert, "il Cestino del Barisano" vale di nuovo una visita al locale. Complimenti e buona strada.

25/06/2025: Exceptionnel ! Plats goûteux dans la pure tradition de Matera. Accueil chaleureux, service impeccable, fraîcheur de la salle intérieure troglodyte très appréciée par jour de canicule (et sinon il existe aussi une jolie terrasse ombragée). Mention spéciale pour le dessert (photo) typique de Matera : le Cestino del Barisano : une mousse de ricotta légère et pas trop sucrée, avec purée de fruits frais et amandes grillées, dans une pâte croustillante, c’est à tomber par terre …

29/07/2025: Pessima esperienza in un ambiente trascuratissimo, con prezzi alle stelle ma qualità di livello Fastfood. Cameriera che propone solo i piatti più costosi ma che poi ti portano delle porzioni ridicole con pochissima carne/pesce e un sacco di patate surgelate.

27/07/2025: I've had dinner there several times, the pizza is delicious, but the fish, from the appetizer to the first and second courses, is excellent.

15/08/2025: The atmosphere and location were very nice, as were the staff and the service, which was fast and friendly. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that good. Many dishes were sold out (the tripe and the fusilli). The appetizer of cured meats and cheeses also included other dishes (all potato-based): stewed fava beans, cruschi peppers, followed by cavatelli with cherry tomatoes and ricotta cheese, and cavatelli with breadcrumbs. The pasta was overcooked and I think precooked. It must have been a bad day. The prices are absolutely not high.

08/03/2025: Service in this restaurant is fantastic and they really make you feel welcomed! We had the tasting menu, which starts with a chef’s selection of starters: they were wonderful although the fact that nearby tables - very close to yours - have something you’d like more than that you had, detracts a bit from the enjoyment…. First course we went for the orecchiette al ragu della domenica, we will say that you can happily skip those. Main were a tagliata and a pignatta - both a humph away from exceptional. Dessert will not be mentioned here. We really loved the restaurant but didn’t love the food if that makes sense?
