13/03/2025: It was one of the best dinners I've ever had. The place is very well kept and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The food is delicious; you can feel the quality of the ingredients in each dish and the skill of the cook is top marks. Very kind, professional staff who made us feel at home from the start of our dinner. Unfortunately we weren't able to enjoy the splendid panoramic view, but we will definitely be back! Compliments

09/03/2025: Evening with friends on the evening of March 8th, an à la carte menu is presented on the occasion of Women's Day, with the possibility of choosing from the dishes on the seasonal menu. Some of us choose potato pies with mushrooms on a bed of tomato as an appetizer, others choose parmesan flans on pumpkin cream and chopped pistachios from the menu of the day. When it comes time to bring 3 of these cakes to the table, the waiters are unable to tell us whether they are one type or another, so we just have to taste. Pressed on the fact that there are still 3 more missing, after a long wait, the parmesan tarts are served, which however are on tomato cream and lack pistachio (when questioned by the waiters, we are told "eh, I don't know, they gave us this"). Also from the menu of the day, the pasta with courgettes and saffron is missing saffron (in all dishes). There is no speck in the crepes with radicchio and speck. We have dinner without the first course dishes being taken away (therefore with the table full of dishes already used and space difficulties). To our complaints, we were told that the kitchen would be reprimanded and we were offered a complimentary dessert which we however refused, given the premises, and were advised to return "when there are no people" (there were around 20 people in the room). One of us requests a discount, which is arbitrarily applied to a bill made in spades.

09/04/2025: We love this place and it's a regular stop every time we're in Udine. Nice to see that with the renovation they managed to maintain the heart of the place. Ok, our usual table is no longer there, but the things that matter are still there: hospitality, parmigiana and good wine!

25/04/2025: A great place. We stopped for cicchetti. Good and varied. The wine list by the glass is also very good and valid. Correct prices also considering that the cicchetti here are NOT as small as in other parts (it's true here they cost 3 euros but they are really bigger!). The restaurant opens onto 2 parts: one the street where you can cicchetta and the other the square where there are outdoor tables. And inside in the basement there is the wonderful vaulted room which gives the Osteria its name. The owner was good at giving us all the information we asked for.

21/04/2025: Poor quality food certainly not even cooked by a real chef, dirty environment, inexperienced, cumbersome, inappropriate staff and it was Easter... creepy smell even in the glasses, excessive price

16/10/2024: Edit 2 years later: changing from 5 to 3 stars overall. Very LOUD music, very young staff, focus on tourists who will never come back, so they don't care if service is good or not. 2022: I used to be out and about in town every day pre-pandemic. Pep’s always had the best sandwiches: tramezzini with really generous ham! (Not just “decorative” ham and then lots of lettuce). Sandwiches here are made for hungry people who don’t have much time to sit around! always fresh ingredients. Post pandemic, I’m happier than ever to confirm: still excellent quality, good value for money and very kind and patient staff, who speak English. Sunny tables perfect for a Saturday brunch.

19/11/2024: When we tried to reserve a parking space, we were told that we would have to hand over our key and that the car would be parked by employees, which isn't covered by German insurance. We would then be able to request our key to drive our car an hour in advance... We've never experienced anything like this before...

31/12/2024: I went to eat at this restaurant with a friend. Nice, welcoming place. We sit at the table, order 2 pizzas and, although there were a maximum of 10 people in the place, the two pizzas arrived after almost 1 hour. Furthermore, one of the two pizzas arrived without the chips we ordered, which arrived later in a separate saucer. The pizza left something to be desired, I think due to the raw materials used. The only positive thing about the service was that the gentleman at the cash register, as well as the pizza chef presumably, did not make us pay for the chips. Having said that, I don't recommend this place, at least for the pizzas.

31/12/2024: Of course, nothing to say about the goodness of the food, but charging 7 euros for a small portion of frozen "tiramisu" seems a bit exaggerated to me (elegant desserts spoken and not written on the menu). To then ask for a separate account and turn up their noses...everything was ok until the time for the bill came

02/05/2025: Historic place in Trieste dedicated to the great writer Joyce... The interior decor is very beautiful, elegant.... we had a pineapple juice 🍍 and a Pelinkovacs (typical Trieste bitter), the prices are low. Friendly and courteous staff, shame about the toilet 🚻: pitiful conditions to say the least... However, if you are in Trieste it is worth stopping...

17/02/2025: Alle 19.14 di domenica telefono per ordinare 2 pizze a domicilio e una bottiglia di fanta mi dicono che per le 20 saranno consegnate richiamo alle 20.26 per avere notizie riguardo il mio ordine e non hanno idea di cosa io stia parlando sento in sottofondo qualcuno che dice che sono in forno e che tra un po saranno pronte rispondo ricordando che ho ordinato anche da bere e mi chiudono il telefono in faccia verso le 21 suonano consegnando 2 pizze tiepide e dimenticandosi la fanta esprimo il mio disappunto al fattorino che mi liquida sorridendo mentre va via dicendo “si si va bene” e ho lasciato lo stesso la mancia

15/09/2024: I have been 2 times, 1 in the summer and we ate a very good fish menu and 1 other time in December 2019 during the holidays with a menu based on truffles, crostini, eggs and a Central European menu... very good even if the prices I seemed to remember were a little high but fair for what we ate...
