02/12/2025: In the heart of Montefalco, formerly known as Coccorone, we chose the eponymous restaurant for lunch last Saturday. The atmosphere, with its brick vaults and rustic charm, evokes the history of the village and the local gastronomic culture. The attentive and friendly service led us through Umbrian culinary tradition. We sampled typical appetizers (veal tartare, celery parmigiana, polenta flan with fondue and mushrooms), excellent first courses such as pappardelle with Sagrantino wine, gnocchi with goose sauce, and a truly delicious lasagna with white ragù. For main courses, the guinea fowl on crostone (a type of crusty bread) thrilled my wife because it reminded her of the one her grandmother (also Umbrian) used to make. The Chianina steak was incredibly tender and was a fitting accompaniment to grilled porcini mushrooms. While the tiramisu and chocolate panna cotta were complete and exquisite desserts, the chocolate, pear, and rum cake raised the bar even higher. Throughout lunch, we drank only one glass of Sagrantino—warm, elegant, and full-bodied. Montefalco is the land of Sagrantino, and Coccorone celebrates it to the fullest. After lunch, we visited the Montefalco Museum, a must-see to complete an experience that combines flavor, art, and history. Recommended for those seeking authentic Umbrian cuisine and a deep connection to tradition.

Very affordable: €35 with appetizer, two first courses (homemade pasta), three meats (wild boar, lamb, sliced ​​beef), side dishes, and desserts. Excellent Montefalco wine, very kind and friendly staff. The hosts of the Il Moro Guest House on Via del Ponte in Sellano (where we had a wonderful stay) recommended this place to us. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try authentic, locally sourced dishes. Highly recommended! I'll be back whenever I can. :)

03/11/2025: Very spacious restaurant. Spectacular truffle specialties, especially the frittata. Tasting menu for the truly hungry. I think the cooking time for the fresh pasta is a bit of a problem, but that's subjective. Friendly and fast service despite the large seating capacity. Recommended.

16/09/2025: We ate here 20 years ago on our first visit to this wonderful town so when returning we searched it out again. It's under new owners since our first visit but the place is still great. You need to sit outside on the vine covered patio, order some house wine and enjoy the delicious meal. Would highly recommend!

18/10/2025: A quiet and welcoming place, the service wasn't particularly fast, but it was courteous. The crostini with lard and honey as an appetizer was excellent, but €8 is a bit too much for the portion. The gnocchi with Taleggio cheese and truffle cream were delicious and delicate. The white chocolate mousse was exquisite, but the Roccata wasn't quite to our taste... Overall, we recommend it ☺️

18/10/2025: Everything was fantastic, but I don't wear a nose ring... the food was ok, the service was ok, the atmosphere was ok, but the bill needed to be reviewed... maybe because the Romans chose a fixed menu instead of the à la carte menu??? You don't need these gimmicks: you have a beautiful place and super food, but I repeat... I don't wear a nose ring, bye!!!
