A place from another era. It's quite far from the center of Catania, but it's worth a visit for two reasons: you can experience the flavors of Sicilian cuisine and savor the authentic local atmosphere of a place where a family-run business feeds its regulars. Wine is served in carafes, drunk from plastic cups, but everything tastes delicious, and the staff will smile at you sincerely, happy you've come to eat at their place. Be warned, there's often a wait to be seated, and it's only open for lunch. I highly recommend it, too, for its very reasonable prices.

This restaurant is mostly frequented by locals. The service is incredibly warm and welcoming, the food is delicious and the portions are generous, yet they don't charge a table fee or service charge. The other diners are also very kind; while we were waiting in line outside, someone told us it was a very special restaurant, and we were very lucky to have found it. Inside, you'll also feel a particularly friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

This place is a real gem. Far from the tourist traps, they serve delicious food: an appetizer, two (!) main courses, and fruit for dessert, including wine, all for under €13. The lively atmosphere of this place is probably a surprise for most people raised in Germany 😅 Be prepared for a bit of a wait. It's very busy. It's definitely noisy, and the staff are incredibly friendly. I felt completely at ease.

An authentic Italian experience. The authentic taste of Sicilian cuisine. A simple place, where it is possible to share a meal with other people, a place very appreciated by the locals. The simplest and tastiest food I had in 4 days in Catania. Very affordable prices, it is not the kind of restaurant that is a tourist trap

Best value meal you can get in Sicily. It's traditional cooking, but you will pay 2-3 times for the same quality meal at other restaurants. Highly recommended.
It's a fixed menu offering. You pick one appetizer and one main course, though everyone get a starter, which was delicious. The pasta was ok. The fish of the day was very good for the price. They forgot my side dish salad, but overall it is one of the best meal experiences I have in Italy.

A truly authentic family-run restaurant, away from the touristy areas, but well worth a visit to try their menu. Very affordable and the whole family is incredibly attentive. I would definitely go back.

A quaint trattoria opened in 1966, where you can relive the atmosphere of Catania's bygone days. Family-run, it offers home-cooked food featuring all the classic Sicilian dishes. Friendly and helpful staff, very reasonable prices. An experience you'll definitely want to repeat. Amedeo, Santa, and Antonella are truly top-notch in their customer service.
