31/03/2025: A good place come on! Generous portions, average prices. Very good frying. The first one (clams and artichokes) didn't satisfy me at all. (the artichoke wasn't fresh and you can still find tasteless, washed-out clams today). If I had taken something else maybe I would have been 100% satisfied. I have eaten better pasta with clams than this one but nevertheless we can say that it is a good place and the food is good. There was a lot of choice. Must try!

For us, he was a guardian angel, a silent yet attentive guide, a constant presence that allowed us to experience our most beautiful day with serenity and fulfillment. With Sandro, we felt protected, accompanied, and "protected" at crucial moments, just like family. His empathy, kindness, and timeless style left a profound impression not only on us, but also on our guests, who perceived him as an integral part of the celebration. Alongside him, the vision and solidity of the Fiandaca brothers, owners and the entrepreneurial spirit of Il Ghiottone Raffinato, deserve sincere praise. Thanks to their leadership, this event stands out for its impeccable organization, top-notch culinary choices, and a team that works in perfect harmony. The culinary journey was extraordinary. The freshest fish and exquisite oysters captivated guests from the start. The creative and delicious appetizers transformed the anticipation into a surprising and convivial experience. The authentic grilled meat and local produce, accompanied by craft beers, celebrated roots and tradition with an innovative touch. Finally, the spirits and chocolate table capped the celebration with a moment of refined conviviality, leaving guests with vivid and memorable memories. The team, led with passion and expertise, demonstrated professionalism, warmth, and a constant smile. Each one of them contributed to making the guests feel pampered and part of a large family. 10/07/2025: Cena al tramonto con vista mozzafiato: i tavoli fronte mare rendono l’esperienza già speciale di per sé. La cucina si distingue per l’approccio monoproteico per piatto, con sapori netti e ottimamente bilanciati. Menù degustazione (noi quello da 10 portate), accompagnato da bollicine siciliane. Piatti di carne e pesce tutti centrati. Finale sorprendente: il dessert si compone al momento, davanti al cliente, scegliendo tra vari ingredienti. Esperienza tecnica, elegante e coinvolgente.

24/08/2025: Never had a meal so bad, the raw fish was warm, the very sweet fish seemed sugary, the fish goulash was just potatoes with no fish, and the white wine was room temperature despite the 30 degrees Celsius outside. When we asked for some soaked wipes, they only brought us one for 12 people.

21/08/2025: We had dinner at this restaurant, and all the dishes were delicious. The fried caciocavallo cheese was truly delicious! We ate outside at tables overlooking the fairly quiet square. The service was quick and friendly. Recommended.

22/08/2025: I've always been a big fan since they opened. I live outside now and tried to relive past experiences, but I was disappointed. One thing to note, and I hope it was a fluke, is that the quality has significantly declined: I had the parmigiana sandwich, bitter eggplant, fried in terrible oil, not-so-fresh bread, and cherry tomatoes that were at least a couple of days old and stuck in my mouth like chewing gum. Please, get back on track (we also had a salad, which was disappointing, too, as well as REAL water in a CENTRAL SICILY place!!!). They're losing their identity. It's fine for tourists, but anyone who's been there in the past can't help but notice the decline in quality and experience.

21/08/2025: Unfortunately, on the day of our visit around 3 or 4 p.m., something was a bit off. We were immediately told that neither focaccia nor pizza were available. After that, we had to wait about 15 minutes for a waitress to arrive. Unfortunately, the water we ordered was forgotten and only brought with us when we asked for it. The food was, unfortunately, so-so. The paneer was very tasty, but the main course (Burger Sammer) was not good; the top burger was too crispy/hard, and the contents unfortunately didn't taste good either. We couldn't find a place to pay, so we went inside and paid ourselves. Unfortunately, it was probably a poor performance on the day.

29/08/2025: A good restaurant in the heart of Ortigia, with a pleasant terrace on a very quiet street. The pasta is quite good and offers good value. Recommended for lunch/dinner in Syracuse.

27/08/2025: We had a lovely lunch here outside. It's a lovely, cozy street where you can sit comfortably. The service is incredibly friendly, and the food is a solid 10! We definitely recommend eating there!

20/08/2025: Absolutely inexplicable reviews. Two stars only for the courtesy and customer service. For the food (all seafood dishes), 1. Flavorless, fish not fresh, terrible value. It's true that the weather is terrible, and that perhaps we should have opted for meat dishes, but I don't know if I'll be back. In response... Readers can easily see how many seafood restaurants I've been to, in Italy and abroad (freshly caught, the best on the beaches of Portugal and Albania). And that I also frequent Chinese and Japanese restaurants. And their shrimp are very similar to the ones on my plate... Good luck to you!

20/08/2025: Visiting the Taverna has become a pleasant habit. The manager always offers a warm welcome. I've been coming here for almost thirty years. The food is sublime. Every year, the ever-changing menu is a surprise. The atmosphere is never chaotic, despite it being a very popular place. The service is super professional and fast. I always find the best traditional Sicilian dishes. Those who accompany me regularly describe the seafood dishes as the best on the Ionian Riviera. I recommend it without a doubt.

29/08/2025: We discovered this excellent fish restaurant during an evening stroll. As we walked past, we admired the beautiful platters served outside and decided to enjoy dinner here. We ordered the house menu and various fish dishes and were not disappointed (grilled chicory with spinach, ravioli with lobster sauce and fish ragù, grilled swordfish and fish skewers, pistachio cream and lemon sorbet for dessert). The prices are very good and not overpriced for such cuisine and good service (tablecloth and candlelight included). Thank you for a lovely evening and a definite recommendation for all fish lovers. Located in a lively restaurant and bar area within the beautiful old town of Bologna. P.S. Don't arrive too late, as some fish dishes might be sold out, as the fish doesn't come from the freezer. English-speaking waiters are available.

25/08/2025: An excellent restaurant in Catania, dining in a classic setting with an 80s-style atmosphere; the service is also formal and very traditional. The dishes are carefully crafted with quality ingredients, and the strong local flavors are beautifully blended by the expert and skilled chef, resulting in a rainbow of flavors that will leave you feeling good. The sarde a beccafico (stuffed sardines) perfectly embodies all of this, a well-balanced dish with strong, bold flavors that alone is worth the trip.

06/08/2025: "Luxury prices in a place stuck in the past" Everything was excellent... or almost. The service charge, including cover charge—a whopping €32 for two—is simply disproportionate and unjustified for such a modest, unrenovated establishment. Despite the lack of contemporary decor, they demand luxury restaurant prices. They're only holding on to a well-worn Catanian reputation, devoid of any real value. A disappointing experience.

06/08/2025: Excellent quality food and fish. The service wasn't top-notch for the place, even though it was the first time I went. With colleagues, it was a completely different story. I chose a bottle of wine from the menu, but then they said it wasn't available. A little more attention to the tables would make it even more special, in my opinion. The tasting menu was truly superb. The raw fish was 5-star!

16/07/2025: The first time I tried this restaurant I was with my boyfriend, and I loved it so much that I wanted to return two weeks later with friends. The pasta with clams was really good, as were the desserts (the ricotta was exceptionally good). It's a shame about the oysters, which gave my friend and I food poisoning (we were the only ones who ate them). I hope the restaurant can pay a little more attention to the freshness of the seafood, because otherwise the experience was very positive.
