27/07/2025: We recently returned to this renowned restaurant in the Castelli Romani area and were unfortunately disappointed by the food, which isn't what I remembered when, about forty years ago, I used to go there with my parents. In particular, the first courses were too salty, with sauces that were too red.

21/07/2025: On Saturday evening, my husband and I had the pleasure of dining at this lovely restaurant. The restaurant is meticulously maintained, and the panoramic terrace is stunning. We were greeted by everyone with the utmost kindness. We were served by Massimiliano, who was exquisite! Since it was our first time at Cacciani, he guided us through our menu choices, offering excellent advice. He was always available, helpful, and never intrusive. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was wonderful because the location is beautiful, the food excellent, and the hospitality perfect. Yet, at the same time, nothing felt "stiff." Since our daughter was born, dinners as a couple are rare, and we're happy we chose Cacciani to spend a few hours together. We had a wonderful evening. We felt at home. Thank you so much ♥️

The atmosphere in the internal courtyard was suspended, thanks to a balmy, bright evening and impeccable service that welcomed without being intrusive, with sincere smiles and an elegant professionalism that can't be learned from a textbook. Then came the pink shrimp tartare. And here every word risks sounding like an exaggeration. But no. It was perfect in texture, fresh as the sea in the morning, delicate yet with a precise character, almost musical in the way it harmonized with the aromas of the dish and the sweet air of the courtyard. It wasn't just good: it was just right. That tartare spoke an ancient and simple language, that of the sea and the art of savoir faire. The restaurant is centrally located yet secluded, like those places that offer themselves to those who know how to look without haste. Inside, warm lights and refined spaces; Outside, a Roman corner that seems designed for slow conversations and toasts that come slowly. The entire staff moves with grace and ease: nothing is mechanical, everything is authentic. And this, in Rome, has a rare value. If I had to describe what elegance means to me, I'd say it's precisely this: a place where everything is carefully thought out but nothing is ostentatious. And in a city where the offerings are endless, finding a restaurant like Matermatuta is like finding a friendly face in the crowd. One of those who, once met, are never forgotten.

08/08/2025: The neighborhood pizzeria, the one "on your doorstep," where you'll find authentic, fresh ingredients, a warm welcome, and a friendly atmosphere. 👑 The pizza is thin, thin, or thin! Crispy on the edge, well-topped, cooked in a wood-fired oven, delicious. All the classic fried foods are available; if you're in a hurry, order a first course or a delicious cacio e pepe. Remember to book!

31/07/2025: I've been wanting to try this trattoria for a while, and finally had the chance. Don't expect formal, elegant service; instead, expect courtesy and speed, along with tasty, generous portions (I had the oxtail stew, but the carbonara was pretty good) and a fair price. I definitely plan on returning!

12/08/2025: I really enjoyed the food served at this restaurant. The appetizer and carbonara I had were delicious. The atmosphere is very relaxed. I also liked the service; the waiters were always available and attentive to our every need. When I return to Rome in the future, I would definitely eat at this restaurant again.

03/08/2025: My family and I went to this restaurant while on vacation in Rome, Italy. The host that seated us was eager and friendly. After being seated we waited quite some time for someone to take drink orders. Initially we all asked for water. The server brought one liter of water for 8 people. We waited a bit more for him to return to take any kind of order. He never returned. Another family came in after us. They also had 8 people. Immediately upon sitting they were served water and drinks. (Strike 1) The owner came out and greeted them ro make sure they were comfortable. He made sure the air conditioning was on for them (it was behind our table but not turned on and we were hot. He summoned another host to turn it on. He looked at our table, his smile faded then turned and walked away No greeting, no nothing. (Strike 2) The server then returned and began taking their order. (Strike 3). At strike 1, I was perplexed. Strike 2 ready to leave but stayed because of my family. Strike 3, we ALL walked out. As we were leaving the owner addressed us asking why we were leaving. One member of the group was nice enough to tell him what he and his staff did. I wouldn't have given him the satisfaction. I would have ignored him just as he and his staff ignored us. The restaurant across the alley was the complete opposite, in fact we ayr there 3 times ans have no complaints at all. Good was great! Service was great! Staff was excellent! Either they're not like us or they didn't like us.

17/08/2025: The wonderful authenticity of a true Roman trattoria! Appetizers and first courses, generous portions, delicious dishes, friendly and courteous service, very clean. The coffee served in a pot is a gesture that takes you back to childhood, a true treat. Highly recommended!

11/07/2025: Una,bellissima sorpresa! Avevo sentito parlare di Cantina Colonna e, finalmente, sono riuscito ad andarci. Ristorante molto curato e menu ricercato, con materie prime di alta qualità. Accoglienza e professionalità in fine fanno da cornice ad una bella esperienza che scalda il cuore ed il palato. Straconsigliato!

02/08/2025: A delicious pizza that we've been eating for the last few years! We ordered 4 cheeses and capricciosa, both excellent! We arrived after 10 pm, and they welcomed us without any problems. A gentleman who was always available served us. It's a place where I would like to return as soon as possible 🙏

01/08/2025: I returned after a few years and remembered it as a place where you could find very good traditional Roman dishes. I must say that the quality hasn't diminished; if anything, it's improved. The portions are generous and well-seasoned, the service is attentive and fast but not intrusive, and the atmosphere is slightly casual but well-managed by the wait staff. Overall, a very pleasant dinner. I'll definitely be back.

11/08/2025: I don't usually leave reviews, but this was so annoying and rude that I'm leaving one. The food bill came to 42 euros, so I paid 50 euros in cash, but instead of 8 euros, I got 3.50 euros. Instead of 5 euros, I got 50 cents. I thought they were just playing with coins at a local hole-in-the-wall store, but how can they show up at a store where locals come and do business? The owner or employee with a tattoo on his arm and a crooked head, you should reflect on yourself.
