18/07/2025: Among the many touristy, rustic trattoria-style restaurants in the area, who would expect to eat one of Rome's best cacio e pepe dishes in a modern and elegant setting just steps from the Spanish Steps? VyNIQUE offers this and much more. Style abounds, quality ingredients, and attention to presentation. We had a puff pastry eggplant parmigiana as an appetizer, followed by a carbonara and a cacio e pepe. For dessert, a fruit soup with sorbet and a citrus crème brûlée. The appetizer was delicious, and we returned the first courses as if they had just come out of the dishwasher. My wife told me the crème brûlée was one of the best she'd ever tasted. To top it all off, the waitress was both friendly and professional. Our only regret was not having tried their Negroni. Until next time, highly recommended!

21/07/2025: A pleasant discovery in the Acilia area. It was a very hot day for lunch, so we stopped on the outdoor veranda and had a wonderful time, thanks to a gust of wind that picked up two minutes after we sat down. There were only eight other people around us, so much so that I assumed it was a sparsely patronized day. Only at the end, when I went to pay, did I discover that inside, in addition to the small entrance hall, there was another large room full of people who preferred the air conditioning to the breeze. At the right temperature, at that. We ate well. Excellent mussels, excellent traditional Roman and fish first courses. The fried fish was good. The house wine (€10/liter) was also decent: nothing exceptional, mind you, but I found it better than many other trattorias. The menu focuses on Roman tradition and offers a varied selection: 13 appetizers, 12 traditional first courses + another 7 fish-based ones, 7 fish-based second courses, and 13 meat-based second courses, 11 side dishes, and 5 desserts. In the evening, there's also a pizzeria and grilled meats. I'd happily recommend it: prices are in line with local competitors (for a mussel sauté, a paccheri pasta dish with prawns, pancetta, and pecorino cheese, a caprese salad, water, and a portion (⅓) of wine, I paid €42) but, in my opinion, it offers good value for money.

10/08/2025: After years, I found the same stunning Roman square, with quality food, friendly staff, and a lively atmosphere. Very nice. We sang, laughed, and shared. Also, they pay special attention to customers with allergies.

12/07/2025: A friendly local restaurant which serves simple, tasty and excellent food. The wine list is good and there are half a dozen options by the glass. The service is friendly and welcoming and the portion sizes excellent. We were here on holiday and visited three times, on each occasion there where many locals in as well. All of our food was good but we particularly liked the salmon penne, spaghetti carbonara and tiramisu

19/07/2025: Had dinner at the Bistrot. The charcuterie and cheese platters were good. What they called gnocco fritto was a dry, hard fried dough. Really!!! Pinsa that isn't pinsa. Flavorless pizza-like dough, very questionable ingredients. We won't be coming back. Quite expensive.

23/07/2025: Cenare da Mario significa immergersi nell'essenza della cucina capitolina, perché questo ritorante offre un'esperienza che va ben oltre il semplice pasto. Ogni consiglio del personale è prezioso, ogni spiegazione rivela l'amore per gli ingredienti selezionati e le ricette tramandate. Il ritmo del servizio segue quello naturale della convivialità italiana: mai affrettato, sempre attento. I piatti sono eccellenti ed anche i contorni, spesso trascurati altrove, qui brillano di luce propria. Il conto finale sorprende positivamente: prezzi onesti per una qualità che supera le aspettative. Da Mario non si va solo per mangiare, ma per vivere Roma attraverso i suoi sapori più autentici. Un'esperienza da ripetere assolutamente.

22/07/2025: Un ristorante speciale, datato con cucina di una volta. Che altro dire, se vuoi mangiare la vera cucina romana sei nel posto giusto.. Camerieri preparati ed educati, cucina di casa con sapori e prezzi onestissimi Carta dei vini fantastica, prezzi più che ragionevoli e scelta tra quasi 200 etichette Torneremo sicuramente Piatti romani, carne tartufo e funghi di livello altissimo Grazie per l ESPERIENZA

07/08/2025: Cucina tipica in un ambiente gradevole. Piatti fatti a regola d’arte con porzioni coerenti alla cucina romana. C’è da prendere tutto il menù, noi abbiamo potuto assaggiare le tipiche paste ed una deliziosa trippa. Cucina a vista magistralmente condotta, veloce ed originaria. Nulla da dire se non super top!!! Vorrei tornarci subito!

02/08/2025: The food was delicious. The juice was freshly squeezed. The coffee was tasty, but nothing special. The scrambled eggs and bacon were delicious. The mozzarella toast was delicious. We recommend it for breakfast.

21/05/2025: Very cozy quite small resturant in the middle of the campagnano di Roma. Menu in Italian but the host translated it with a tablet into English. The food was very good and tasty. The price was ok. Good service from the host who was the only one who took the order and served something which worked very well. Recommended

However, I was expecting a personal touch or something that would distinguish the dishes from the capital's typical offerings. ​The service was friendly, but not always attentive. The wait for the rest of the bill, which I had to request, was a minor complaint. I also felt they paid too much attention to regulars, an attitude that risks making the place feel a bit too "neighborly" and less welcoming to first-time visitors. ​In conclusion, this is a typical Roman osteria, neither good nor bad. Suitable for those seeking traditional flavors without pretensions of originality.
