05/05/2026: A small, elegant trattoria in the Navigli area, with a few outdoor tables on the sidewalk. The atmosphere is intimate and authentic, ideal for those seeking a quiet, unpretentious dinner. The staff is distinguished by their courtesy and expertise; one of the most successful aspects is undoubtedly the descriptions of the dishes, presented with passion, precision, and great attention to detail, which truly showcase the cuisine. The wine list is also well-constructed and interesting, with select, high-quality labels. The menu is rather basic, a choice that can be positive for the consistency and thoughtfulness of the offerings, but at the same time leaves a desire for more variety. Some dishes are also carefully presented, but the overall dining experience doesn't always meet the expectations the restaurant's layout suggests; I was expecting something more in terms of the dining experience. A less convincing note concerns the wine glasses, which are rather small in size, a detail that clashes with the quality of the selection on offer. The service was excessively fast; in about an hour we finished our appetizer, first and second courses, dessert, and coffee. The restaurant's double-seater system, already questionable in itself, is noticeable here and risks compromising the tranquility of the dinner. In short, a restaurant with good potential, a very thoughtful presentation of the dishes, and a solid wine list, but it could use some slower service and some fine-tuning to offer a more balanced and complete dining experience.

20/04/2026: Overall, the experience was positive. The setting is truly beautiful, well-kept, and has a welcoming atmosphere that makes for a pleasant evening. The service was also good and attentive. Regarding the food, however, I expected something more: the cutlet wasn't particularly impressive, while the risotto with ossobuco was definitely very good and well-executed. Overall, I recommend it, but considering the prices, I expected a higher level of cuisine overall.

01/04/2026: Authentic atmosphere, reminiscent of a trattoria from days gone by. Fast and efficient service, generous portions, wine (also available by the carafe), tasty food, and reasonable prices. Recommended for a fun, informal, yet elegant evening with friends.

09/05/2026: The place is worth it, the exterior is beautiful, the staff is friendly and entertains you by telling you the story of the inn and the dishes. I personally didn't like the Milanese risotto very much, there was something acidic as if the wine hadn't evaporated well. For the rest, I recommend the Milanese cutlet, which is good but it's so big that in my opinion it's for two people.

01/05/2026: We were here in April 2026 for lunch. Initially we were looking for a pizza (which they do not have on the menu) but then stayed anyway. It was totally worth it: starting with the delicious focaccia and an appetizer, followed by carpaccio and pasta. Serving was a bit slow but service was super attentive, and the 3 EUR fee you pay for the 'coperto' is worth every cent since you get a constant feed of fresh and delicious bread and snacks and appetizers :-) Prices appear to be normal for the centre of Milano. Recommended!

29/04/2026: A sunny Sunday in April, Milan was almost deserted, the area was quiet. I found a parking spot 30 meters from the restaurant, and it was already off to a great start. The outdoor table offered a traditional Milanese menu, but not limited to it. The three of us ordered different dishes: appetizers, first courses, and desserts. There wasn't a single dish that was wrong; they were all delicious and well-served, even the wine was exceptional. We'll be back to try the second courses as well.

04/05/2026: Excellent restaurant serving traditional Milanese cuisine. We had the risotto with ossobuco, which was exceptional, and the cotoletta alla milanese, which was also really good. We also loved the desserts: we tried the caffè dei milanesi and the nuvola bianca.

01/05/2026: The dark waiter who looks and smells like Indian curry added an extra 6 euros on our bill. We went to challenge him what for and why he would sneak in extra 6 euros for nothing we had. He apologised. This is dishonest and shocking.

11/05/2026: Everything was very delicious! A lovely atmosphere, attentive service, and a true Italian feeling. The dishes were beautifully served and tasted amazing. A perfect place for dinner in Milan. Highly recommended!

04/05/2026: The classic, the most classic of Milanese classics. You eat and drink very well, you spend a fair amount, but it's worth it. Nothing has changed for over 20 years, and rightly so!

25/04/2026: While in Milan and looking for a good trattoria near where I was staying (the city center), I found quite a bit of positive feedback for this osteria. I was already convinced I'd find a somewhat spartan place, which, in the end, I actually liked because it could be typical of times gone by, even though that area of ​​Milan is now teeming with modernity. But the personal problem was finding food that wasn't particularly good. Generous portions, but tasteless. The bill was quite fair. And the staff were typically Milanese, aloof and cold. A bit of a shock for a Sicilian accustomed to social interaction, but whatever, we're in the far reaches of Italy.

16/04/2026: Fairly priced authentic italian food. The place was crowded and the waiter - which I suppose is also the owner - was managing everything by himself, so it was a bit messy and it took a while, but in the end it was worth it! Definitely recommend.

27/04/2026: An excellent Milanese osteria, just like the old days, with excellent cuisine. The atmosphere and service are very warm.

25/04/2026: I went to this place for a birthday. The atmosphere is very unique, a bit vintage. We ate very well, with a pre-arranged menu featuring typically Lombard/Milanese dishes. The staff was friendly, courteous, and absolutely helpful. Mondeghili was top notch!
