26/12/2025: Very characteristic location, impeccable menu

21/12/2025: We went for dinner last night. Everything was impeccably prepared and the food was delicious. The table service, especially from the maître d', was remarkable. We'll definitely be back and I recommend it to anyone who wants to eat excellent Milanese food in a very beautiful part of Milan. Even though it's a touristy area, I wouldn't call this restaurant "for tourists" at all (unfortunately, this happens in certain parts of the city, but that's not the case at Vecchia Lira, where the food and atmosphere are authentic).

15/03/2026: Authentic place with great service, very attentive and friendly! Spectacular food, especially the ossobuco risotto and the steak tartare with egg! The tiramisu was incredible, one of the best I've ever had. I recommend making a reservation.

13/03/2026: Antica Trattoria Salutati is a restaurant that immerses you in Milanese tradition. The menu features all the great classics, and I must say that both first and second courses are generously portioned, justifying the medium-high prices. The cutlet was expertly prepared, as was the risotto, which was truly yellow and creamy. Unfortunately, there were a few small, avoidable inaccuracies. First of all, one of the two risotto al saltos we ordered was clearly burned; not just toasted, it completely lost the delicious toasted flavor of the other. Furthermore, although the service was very courteous, they didn't check the cellar before offering us a wine to possibly order another bottle, thus forcing us to change wine mid-meal. Just a minor point, but avoidable. All in all, I'd recommend it, especially for the excellent cutlet, but I recommend booking!

09/03/2026: One of the best risottos with ossobuco in Milan... The appetizers are also very good (exceptional mondeghili, top-quality cured meats). The ambiance, reminiscent of a 19th-century Milanese farmhouse, is truly charming: although the surrounding area is unfortunately not the best, as soon as you step inside, you enter a completely different dimension. There are two rooms, the restaurant (larger) on the right and the farmhouse (more intimate and unique) on the left. The latter is definitely better. The only negative about the food is the desserts: good but nothing spectacular. The staff is friendly. High prices, but high quality.

28/02/2026: A fantastic Milanese osteria, perhaps one of the last authentic ones left. Diego, the head sommelier, is simply unique.

01/03/2026: The premise of this negative review is entirely subjective, as I'm really tired of all these pseudo-cool restaurants, which I don't know how they can be so hyped. The dishes were incredibly banal, but so banal that they were truly difficult to trace. The ingredients, individually, were even good, but it's unthinkable to spend such money on such redundant dishes. I've frequented and continue to frequent restaurants with this vibe and positioning, and I'm aware of their pitfalls, but in this case, I was completely disappointed by the offerings. On a positive note, however, the wine list, the service, and the ambiance, but I would never return and absolutely would not recommend it.

21/03/2026: The staff's helpfulness, kindness, professionalism, and friendliness were top-notch. Excellent food. The entry-level/mid-range wines are a bit too mature; I haven't tried the mid-range/high-end ones, but there's a wide selection.

13/03/2026: The owner is amazing, incredibly kind and helpful (as well as being friendly and a rock music lover). The food is delicious, and the service is fast and welcoming. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back!! A big hug!

12/03/2026: A welcoming, clean, and well-decorated restaurant. We had excellent risotto with osso buco and a delicious Milanese cutlet. Attentive service combined with courtesy and kindness. Prices are reasonable for the type of restaurant.

11/03/2026: After years of forgetfulness, I finally managed to eat a cassoeula as God intended, truly excellent, accompanied by a good house red. The menu features a series of dishes inspired by Northern Italian cuisine that not everyone makes or knows how to make. The wine list is highly respectable, along with impeccable service and a truly unique location—all positive.

02/01/2026: Exceptional food, the osso buco with saffron risotto, one of the best I've ever eaten, my son ordered the casserole and it was delicious... then mashed potatoes, baked potatoes and a slice of very delicate cake.

01/01/2026: I had dinner with colleagues and friends in early December. The atmosphere was truly beautiful, with meticulous attention to detail and a Christmas theme throughout, very welcoming. The staff was friendly and helpful, from the manager who welcomed us to the staff in the dining room. We ate wonderfully: we tried a little bit of everything, and it was all excellent. The steak was exceptional, but we also loved the other dishes. The price was fair for the quality. It absolutely deserves the Borghese award for best restaurant!

24/03/2026: We were lucky enough to discover this lovely, typical Milanese osteria. An excellent culinary experience, highly recommended by the Girasole family.

17/02/2026: A welcoming and spacious restaurant in the center of Milan's Duomo district. Family-run, run by professional and friendly staff. Renowned for its fresh fish, I opted for the baked stuffed artichoke with potato and the Milanese cutlet with sautéed spinach, which was delicious. The sautéed potatoes were also excellent. The wine list is good. The highlight is the selection of desserts. The panna cotta with berries is a must-try.

11/02/2026: Loved it! Attention Americans: breathe in and simply enjoy the experience. Service may not be quick, but service works. So do NOT complain about the speed of service. Set your expectations in advance. We were here for our first time today and we reserved to come back in two days. It’s a great restaurant. It’s now on our list of top favorites.

28/11/2025: It presents itself as a place with a casual atmosphere and very friendly and welcoming staff! The menu isn't terribly varied, but I think that's an added bonus because it allows them to take more care in making them...all at a more than reasonable price! Well done! ...the only problem...good luck with the parking :) ...but we're in Milan, so nothing new 😅

22/02/2026: Single foreigner on a Monday night at 7:31pm (opens at 7:30pm) being told no seats available while watching a group of 6 be seated with no reservation and another group of 2 walk in with no reservation (he asked, they said no, they were seated). Stay clear. Locals only
