La Pesa Trattoria 1902 In Milano

The interior is well-decorated and welcoming, but unfortunately it was too crowded. The chairs were pushed together with those of adjacent tables. The noise inside made it very difficult to talk to each other at the table. Paradoxically, we could hear what was being said at other tables; let's just say we're nosy. Let's start by saying that we had high expectations, and we were treated to an appetizer with ordinary, unexciting flavors, consisting of mondeghili (fried pasta), which on its own was unimpressive; if you paired it with sauce, it tasted even better. The charcuterie board featured industrial-quality fried gnocco and other cured meats. The Milanese cutlet was good, very large, and flavorful; the breading didn't come off the quality meat. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and empathetic. Credit to their hard work and dedication, but I expected all-round quality.

We returned several years after our first experience at this restaurant (I think it was 2019) because we had fond memories of it and were hosting relatives who wanted to bring something traditional. We confirm our excellent impressions: exceptional food, fair prices, and a great atmosphere. The ossobuco and cotoletta were truly incredible, and the selection of appetizers was also very interesting. We'll definitely be back!

Very friendly service. The menu isn't extensive, but some dishes are a bit unusual. I had the sciatt, which I found delicious. The risotto alla Milanese was also good, but the risotto al salto wasn't great. It wasn't very crispy, but a bit too thin and therefore a bit dry. It would be nice to add a sauce, like fondue, on top. Good value for money.

Good food, friendly service, a trattoria-like atmosphere, and a hefty bill: the place is a famous name, but the experience is average.

Excellent food that respects typical Milanese tradition. Friendly and helpful staff, and reasonable prices. I will definitely be back.

A bit away from the touristy crowds. Really good food, didn't take a lot of pictures unfortunately. Recommend the fried artichokes.

A fantastic experience, one to repeat! Everything was delicious, but the risotto alla milanese was out of this world!! We ordered seconds. The price was fair, with water included in the cover charge. We showed up half an hour before the second serving and they still seated us. One small observation: the dessert menu lists the cheesecake as gluten-free, but once we asked the waiter, we were told there was a printing error. Too bad for my celiac friend who was hoping for that.

Great food, great service, the appetizers were amazing.
