Beautiful location in the heart of the Sassi, off the beaten path. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. All the dishes we ordered were delicious, and the quality/price ratio was excellent. Highly recommended.

A charming location nestled inside a cave in the Sasso Barisano. Courteous staff. Refined dishes, tastefully presented. Excellent product quality. Fair price. To finish on a high note, I recommend ordering the deconstructed tiramisu: delicious.

We were there today for the first time and we ate really well, the thing I loved in this restaurant is the delicious bruschetta, very welcoming service, very beautiful place, top cleanliness, very good we will return, the meat and potatoes were also good, a round of applause to the staff 🔝🤝

We went to Osteria Pico and I have to say it was a wonderful experience. The food was truly excellent, with authentic flavors and attention to detail. The atmosphere is welcoming and truly enjoyable. Special thanks to our waitress Giulia, who was incredibly kind, smiling, and very professional. Her service made the evening even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back and I recommend it to anyone who wants to eat well and feel welcomed!

A wonderful experience on a bitterly cold day. The Pico appetizer for two is highly recommended. I wasn't entirely satisfied with the orecchiette pasta. I recommend it for the attentive service and the price.

If you're looking for traditional Matera cuisine, this is the place to be. Pork cooked to perfection, and the crusco pepper is the real star of the show! Super friendly staff, and portions that can be described as exaggerated! I ordered for one person, and two easily ate! I'll definitely be back!

The experience didn't start off on the right foot. I headed for the entrance but was sent elsewhere. CHANGE THE SIGN. The location remains charming and very quaint, but the staff wasn't very attentive. With the place half empty, they forgot a dish, but that can happen. The bread was 3 or 4 days old, and the traditional dishes often lacked character and flavor.

Trattoria Lucana

05/05/2026: A typical Lucanian trattoria with truly delicious dishes: we thoroughly enjoyed both the homemade soup and the soup with meatballs in tomato sauce, both flavorful and well-prepared. Unfortunately, however, the service wasn't up to par. The lady, presumably the owner, seemed rather haughty, while her daughter, who was taking orders, was even more so. We would have appreciated greater kindness, friendliness, and a modicum of savoir-faire. At various times, she was rude, even towards other customers: for example, with a table of undecided foreigners, she showed impatience, grumbling and huffing, turning away so as not to be noticed. Overall, a mixed experience: good food, but the welcome really makes the difference. Personally, I don't think I'll return, because a good restaurant should also offer empathetic and pleasant service, starting with the managers, who proved less friendly than the very kind waiters.
