Osteria Pico In Matera

The food is good, but not enough explanations in the menu regarding the ingredients and the dish description. Quite expensive but a very nice atmosphere inside (the restaurant is into a cave).

When we asked friends and colleagues to recommend a good place to have lunch in Matera, they were unanimous in suggesting Osteria Pico. And they were right! We enjoyed excellent dishes of typical Matera and Lucanian cuisine, prepared with passion and care by the landlady, an excellent cook, who we also had the pleasure of meeting. The starters are exceptional, a very tasty "journey" into the flavors of authentic and traditional cuisine, and the two second courses we tried also fully satisfied us. Then the pleasant and evocative atmosphere of the place and the great kindness of the staff complete the work. Furthermore, excellent value for money. In the restaurant and excellent food

Stupendo! Location nei sassi suggestiva,personale qualificato e gentilissimo, piatti di alta qualità e abbondanti,il conto super giusto per il livello. Da provare

As with many/most places in this town, great ambiance in a finished yet still cavelike room. Friendly, efficient staff, English spoken. Had two pastas ( zucchini cream sauce with pistachios, tomato sauce with crushed red peppers and cheese) pork with dried peppers and mushrooms (huge portion), stewed wild boar, dessert of chocolate torte w/ marscapone and pears. Overall, a very nice dinner. Crowded, fast paced. Very efficient. Not rushed.

Questo posto si trova nel cuore dei Sassi di Matera, molto bello. Personale molto gentile, buoni i peperoni cruschi, i primi assaggiati non ci hanno fatto impazzire ma rimaniamo soddisfatti della bella serata trascorsa. I prezzi un pochino alti sono legati alla location del ristorante.
