As Americans, (🫢) we arrived when it opened (7 pm) and had it to ourselves until about 8 pm, then it progressively filled up, so we had the attentions of the sweet and very helpful maitre D. it is high end food. You can pick specific dishes, Primi and secondi dishes etc, or you can choose a 3 course or 5 course tasting menu. My spouse was busy picking which dishes he wanted but then he trusted me when I said let’s do the 5 course tasting menu (vacation, go big and trust your chef) and it was a fabulous experience. they make many types of breads and we got to try them all, along with their signature butter (flavored with a bit of anchovy). Each dish to follow was an experience. We both loved it and would happily return in a future visit to Rome. It is at the edge of Trastevere, near the river for a perfect walk after so much food. Really a lovely experience.

01/08/2026: This was the first restaurant we visited on our first night, just up the hill from where we were staying, and it couldn't have been a better introduction to the area. The patio was hosting several birthday celebrations, creating such a lively, joyful atmosphere. As we enjoyed our meal and watched the evening unfold, it genuinely felt like we had been welcomed into a neighbour's backyard celebration. The ambiance is hard to put into words. I'm from Toronto now, but I grew up in a small village in Ukraine, and something about this place instantly felt familiar and comforting. It had a warmth and authenticity that reminded me of home. The food was delicious, the wine was excellent, and the hospitality made the entire experience even more memorable. A wonderful place that we'll always remember from our trip.

05/06/2026: Trattoria Sabbioneda Da Romolo is 300 meters from the Lima M1 station. Clean tables and friendly owners. They also have daily specials; today, for example, they had goulash and veal with tuna sauce. I had a portion of pumpkin ravioli, a Milanese cutlet, a water, a glass of good wine, and a coffee for only €29 (we're in downtown Milan). Good and plentiful food.

22/05/2026: The lunch menu was limited in choice and expensive for workers on break. You only had one choice per course, either that or à la carte. They served a first course, second course, and side dish all in one plate, and you had to rush to eat the first course because otherwise the second course would get cold. Of course, everything was served on one plate. The second course was impossible to cut, you had to constantly move the meat around and juggle the side dishes. The house wine was truly poor.

30/06/2026: Restaurant, a typical Milanese trattoria with traditional dishes and family-style service. The entrance isn't the best, but once inside, the feeling changes and you begin to breathe in the air of a traditional inn with the delicious aromas of home-cooked food. I tried the risotto with ossobuco, polenta, and gorgonzola, and the meatballs with mashed potatoes. All the dishes I tasted were excellent, plentiful, and above all, prepared with genuine ingredients and by expert hands. The Bonarda (wine), a sparkling wine, which accompanied the dishes, was delicious, with a rustic flavor. And finally, the bill was absolutely fair, reflecting the spirit of the inn/osteria. Well done!

10/03/2026: Came in on a Sunday and it was chaos- clearly short-staffed as most restaurants these days. Service was for the most part positive and they are accommodating also to groups with less accessibility. However, the food was over-priced for the quality... appetizer plate laughable and pasta dishes were mediocre but still left hungry (after dropping 70EUR on a very modest lunch). Also got a bottle of wine (I recognized a couple of noteworthy labels on the shelves; unfortunately staff was not knowledgable about their wine list), but not stored in great condition so the fruit was pretty flat. Pity, as the idea of a trattoria in this area has a lot of potential.
