25/11/2025: On November 23, 2025, around 10:00 PM, I went to the Tamoil gas station on Via Crati/Busento in Cosenza, heading south (i.e., toward the city center of Cosenza). I inserted a €20 note, placed the pump in the filler neck, and noticed that nothing was coming out. I kept holding the pump down, but I could hear some noises. I gently removed the pump to see if anything was actually coming out, and noticed that it was just making noise and no diesel was coming out. Meanwhile, the pump indicated that fuel was being dispensed, so I promptly stopped. The pump indicated a (false) dispensing of about €4.00. I replaced the pump and took the receipt for reimbursement. I set off again, and the remaining fuel range confirmed the lack of dispensing. On the morning of November 24, 2025, I went to get my refund and the clerk told me not to insist, saying he could only give me €16.00. All my attempts to reason with him were in vain. But I wonder: if the fuel runs out, I think it runs out for everyone. If there were so many others before me (in fact, the clerk wasn't surprised at all), then he should realize that the fuel had actually run out, so the dispensing was fake. After a long discussion (polite on my part), I preferred not to collect the €16.00 refund, so out of pride, I left the entire amount without collecting what he had promised. I consider this ignorant and rude behavior, especially since he could have told me how to proceed with the remainder. I filed a complaint and was told by email to go and collect the amount, but they didn't specify whether it was €20.00 or €16.00.
