29/06/2025: Un ristorante davvero piacevole, ideale per chi ama il pesce fresco e cerca un’esperienza genuina senza rinunciare alla qualità. I piatti sono ben curati, abbondanti e perfetti anche da condividere. La qualità del pesce è evidente fin dal primo assaggio: sapori puliti, freschi e ben valorizzati senza eccessi. Il servizio è rapido e attento, con personale cortese che mette subito a proprio agio. La location immersa nella campagna è un altro punto di forza: fresca, tranquilla, e perfetta per una cena d’estate lontano dal caos. Ottimo anche il rapporto qualità-prezzo, difficile da trovare altrove per questa qualità. Sicuramente un posto dove tornare volentieri!

31/05/2025: We celebrated my daughter's communion at dinner. There were about 30 of us. We started with appetizers: we had chosen a cold cuts platter and for some chips, as soon as we were all seated, they proceeded with the pizza order and after a minute they brought the platters (medium sized, with three types of cheese, some black olives in the center and three types of cold cuts present several times, all accompanied by good bread); the chips arrived shortly after, so the wait was understandable and in line with the cooking times, ketchup and mayonnaise in the center, rating 7.5. The service: much appreciated, they were able to mark the times well by asking for consent, always present, very attentive to the possible lack of drinks or other, and quick to satisfy every request, well organized, rating 9. Finally fantastic pizza, we were all very satisfied, excellent ingredients and perfect cooking, rating 10. Drinks: still and sparkling water, beer, coke, this is what we preferred, but you could also choose other drinks. Good value for money. We were able to set up the room in the morning, so we had no problem with the times of the communion. They also serve pizza for celiacs.

12/08/2025: Bad experience with unprofessional staff, especially a girl named Valentina and her colleague on shift with her. We waited in vain at the table and they stood at the door of the restaurant talking to each other. I asked if we should serve ourselves inside or if they would come to the table. I said, "We come," and they continued to stand there. I asked for the owner and they rudely replied, laughing, that he's never there. We got up and left and they continued laughing. Congratulations! 🤦‍♀️

06/09/2025: Excellent accommodation in Capo Vaticano. The recently renovated and furnished rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is varied, offering both sweet and savory options. Dinner offers a variety of options, including a first course, second course (meat or fish), dessert, or fruit. The Calabrian dinner on Fridays is delicious, with live music. The location is ideal for reaching Grotticelle beach (we used the paid shuttle service), as well as visiting Tropea (easily reached by train), Pizzo Calabro, Zungri, and Riaci beach. A pleasant walk takes you to the Garden of the Gods to admire the sunset over Stromboli. We were able to admire it even from our room overlooking the pool (see photo). August 2025.

05/08/2025: We're just finishing our stay at the hotel and are very pleased with the hotel, its location, and the excellent service. The food was delicious; we didn't have a chance to try dinner, but the atmosphere and aromas were very tempting. During our stay, a music evening was organized – fantastic. The rooms, hotel, and grounds were very clean – I felt almost at home. 🙂 I highly recommend the hotel also for its beautiful beach, which is accessible by local bus and a choo-choo train – a great attraction for children. The beach itself is so lovely that you won't need to look for another one. From the train station, which is a 15-minute walk from the hotel, you can visit the towns of Tropea and Scilla – highly recommended! I'll definitely be back...

02/05/2025: Tornare a casa. La nostra esperienza alla locanda potrebbe riassumersi con queste semplici parole, ma è doveroso spenderne qualcuna in più. Guidati dalla cortesia e professionalità di Andrea, dalla simpatia e dalla competenza nel servizio di Mirko, ogni piatto ci ha regalato un sorriso e soddisfazione difficili da riassumere in poche righe. Un ringraziamento anche alla brigata ed alla cucina: eleganza, garbo, riguardo, gusto, piacere. Questo è l’antica locanda dal povero Enzo. A presto, Michele.

21/08/2025: On our way back from vacation, we stopped for lunch at this Calabrian restaurant by chance. Excellent, distinctive, and homemade food, a clean atmosphere, and fast service. They make special artichokes in oil and delicious desserts!

19/08/2025: Everything was delicious, especially the fish-based first courses. I highly recommend the fusilli with creamed zucchini and raw shrimp. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back.

26/08/2025: An interminable wait to take our order. After almost half an hour, the owners' daughter informed us that table service was suspended and that we should serve ourselves inside. She reiterated, in a completely rude and annoyed manner, that if we'd been in a hurry, we could have gone straight inside from the start. Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated incident of this kind.

23/08/2025: A terrible experience in every way - NOT RECOMMENDED. We arrived at the La Pergola Calabria bar around 6:30 in the morning. The place was practically empty: only one other table occupied besides ours. We sat in the outdoor gardens and immediately realized that they had been completely dirty from the night before: used glasses everywhere, trash on the floor, sticky tables. Disgusting. We decided to move to the front area, hoping it would be more well-kept, but what awaited us was even worse: a cold and rude welcome. A woman—who we later discovered was the owner—came out and looked out the door with a visibly annoyed tone, asking us, "What do you want?", adding that "maybe she'll have time to serve us since there's no one else there yet." She didn't even come to our table: she simply leaned out the door, answering both me and my boyfriend in an arrogant and hasty manner. We simply asked what flavors of cream they had for a croissant and what juices were available. Her response? "What do you want? Come on, hurry up. So?!" Said in a dry, annoyed, almost aggressive tone—as if we were doing her an injustice by wanting breakfast. I can understand that you have to hurry in the morning, but the bar was empty, and the two guys who usually work with her had simply left for a moment (we saw them return as we were leaving). The owner wasn't alone; there was an employee with her anyway. So: four employees for a small-town bar—large, yes, but certainly not exclusive—and receive such treatment? It's simply shocking. In the end, we took everything to go just to avoid arguments, but honestly, I would have preferred not to leave a single euro in there. And this isn't even the first bad experience: on a previous occasion, I also tried the gelato and was very disappointed. The flavors were overly sweet, almost nauseating. The strawberry, in particular, was chemically treated and frozen, with chunks of ice inside, as if it had been poorly preserved. In fact, right after that experience, I started reading the reviews... and coincidentally, I'm not the only one who noticed the rudeness of the staff. Many reported the same attitude: pissed-off responses, rude tones, zero professionalism. As if they were doing the whole world a favor by working there, without realizing that people choose to go there—and then find themselves treated poorly. Dirty environment, rude staff, poor quality. I absolutely do not recommend this place. I truly hope anyone reading this review will think twice before coming in.
