29/08/2025: "Authentic and creamy gelato" Lots of new flavors, fresh, authentic, and made with quality ingredients. The gelato is creamy, and the flavors are intense and natural. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is welcoming. A truly pleasant stop in the wonderful village of Altomonte, highly recommended!

08/07/2025: Very good local ice cream and a coffee place with long tradition. The outdoor seating provides a beautiful view of the square and of the village and its surroundings. Both ice cream and most of their biscuits selection are gluten-free and they know how to handle avoiding any contamination.

11/09/2025: The reservation system looks like a CIA interrogation....!!! Date of birth, email, zip code.... Don't you think that's going too far??? In the end, you're selling a pizza!!! In exchange for a pizza, you want all the customers' sensitive data... It's time to stop.

11/10/2025: Excellent pizza, a special and historic place in Catanzaro. Traditional and welcoming management.

04/10/2025: Historic pizzeria in CZ, but despite the historic building's façade, a minimal sign on the door would have been appreciated, even if it were just a sign indicating the pizzeria/restaurant. The pizza is always good and the prices are reasonable. The restrooms were clean but definitely not large enough for the tables in the dining room. Since I didn't order anything else, I can't comment on the other dishes, but they're worth trying next time. 😉

22/08/2025: We came from Rome to eat amazing pizza, phenomenal fried foods, and sandwiches that are out of this world! The staff and owners are the icing on the cake. What can I say.... I would recommend it to anyone because when you put your heart into it, in addition to excellent ingredients, you can taste the difference!

16/09/2025: September 13, 2025 The Orchidea restaurant was the absolute protagonist of the most beautiful day of my life, my wedding. The hosts, Susanna and Sebastiano (two fantastic people), managed to organize the civil ceremony with the mayor and the wedding dinner in two separate rooms, outdoors, with a truly wonderful setting. The first part of the civil ceremony was celebrated in front of the upper pool, with numerous white chairs all decorated with flowers, a white carpet in the middle with two poufs and a floral arch, all impeccably lit, creating a moving atmosphere. The second part of the wedding dinner was organized in the ground-floor pool, in front of a lawn, with all the tables in the center and the aperitif stations all around, where my guests and all of us savored a menu of appetizers, almost entirely fish, with some meat, of indescribable deliciousness. Fish cooked in the most diverse ways, with a wide selection of courses. The appetizers were rich, plentiful, and delicious. The three first courses and two second courses, served at the table, were a huge success, with requests for more, which were not lacking. The organization of the kitchen and the dining room deserved top marks. The entire staff was fast, helpful, and kind. The final menu, featuring the wedding cake and an endless dessert buffet, was a resounding success. A variety of desserts, of indescribable deliciousness. I must and want to sincerely thank Susanna and Sebastiano for their professionalism, availability, kindness, friendliness, and humility. You managed to make my day a dream come true. I recommend all Calabrians and Italians who pass by the Orchidea to stop by and create your own unforgettable moment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart... 31/08/2025: Welcoming and tasty, if you're tired of the dozens of anonymous pizzerias and restaurants in Diamante and Scalea, this restaurant is for you. Typical Calabrian products and dishes, in a village with a magnificent view. The entire town is a hamlet of steps and narrow streets; don't use GPS to get here. Call the restaurant for parking advice; we went to Piazza XVII Settembre.

30/08/2025: I visited this restaurant serving traditional Calabrian cuisine, and I must say it was a true culinary delight! The food was incredible; every dish we ordered was prepared with care and love for Calabrian tradition. The waiter Francesco recommended the best dishes; his kindness and professionalism were truly appreciated. Excellent value for money. If you love Calabrian cuisine, you can't miss this place.

19/08/2025: A casual and pleasant atmosphere, ample parking, and delicious pizza. The benchmark for a pizzeria is the Margherita, melt-in-your-mouth and fragrant with delicious tomato sauce and sweet mozzarella. Friendly service and very fair prices. I highly recommend Il Bassotto!
