01/07/2025: An excellent restaurant for dinner in the area. Very pleasant atmosphere with a rustic taste. Not a very extensive menu but all the ingredients are top quality and fresh. Even the pasta seems to be homemade and not packaged. In particular, I recommend the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms among the first courses, they really have an excellent overall balance. The pizza is no exception; the dough of the latter is really light with excellent leavening (zero digestion problems). Even for the pizza, very fresh ingredients are used. I recommend the "Tropeana", a perfect expression of the flavors of the area. This restaurant was my reference for three nights in a row, without making me feel the need to look for something else. Recommended. I will definitely return on my next stop in the area.

13/03/2025: We have been going to the Locanda three times now and every time it is a fantastic experience! Chef Rosario is always kind, creative and super available for our every need! The menu is a discovery of traditional Calabrian flavors accompanied at the same time by many other creative and innovative dishes from the chef. Finally, the impeccable service and the welcoming atmosphere make the Locanda the perfect place for a lunch or dinner with friends. In short: always a guarantee

05/09/2025: What at first glance appears more like a tourist restaurant is a surprise. We were seated within a few minutes, and the cuperto and menu were quickly brought to us. With so much to choose from, it was hard to decide—in the end, we opted for spaghetti vongole and the like. The food was authentically Italian, and the spaghetti vongole was perhaps the best we've ever had. The half-liter of house wine for just €5 also impressed us. We enjoyed it so much that we came back on our last evening in beautiful Tropea. A lovely place to start/end our vacation.

21/08/2025: I wanted to say that I'm a tourist from Lake Maggiore. Varese (a former soccer player) was recommended to me by many locals. It's the only one in Calabria, and I think even nationwide. An excellence and pride of Italian cuisine, but especially the province of Cosenza should be proud to have a restaurateur like Nicola Marra. He's serious, precise, professional, and highly knowledgeable, taking care of every tiny detail. He makes all his customers feel at ease, along with his knowledgeable and excellent staff. I ate the best pizza of my life and I think I'll gladly return because I saw the excellent selection of high-quality ingredients for both the pizza and the sandwiches, along with an excellent selection of craft beers and a wide selection of excellent and carefully selected Calabrian wines. 26/08/2025: Excellent restaurant recommended to us by the TheFork app. Located in a pedestrian area, but quieter than the central area. Exquisite food, with generous portions. I also have to give a big shout-out to the waiters: precise, polite, and always ready to accommodate customers' requests. Keep up the good work.

I have an 8-year-old with a gluten allergy, and we asked if there was anything wrong with it, and they were super kind enough to make us food especially for him (gluten-free) without thinking twice. My son never eats everything, but here nothing could stop him 😂🤣😂. Anyway, for those with problems like me, this place is highly recommended. Many thanks to the owners.

13/05/2025: We ended up there by chance and from the outside we couldn't tell if it was a butcher's shop or a wine shop. A very kind gentleman let us in and, even though the entrance looked like a butcher's shop, they then accompanied us to a room with tables. We took a classic cutting board: delicious cured meats, ricotta and exquisite cheeses, probably their own production. Very relaxing atmosphere with pleasant music. Very kind lady and very quick in preparing the cutting board. We found this exquisite place by pure chance!
