30/05/2025: Bar molto elegante nei cuore del paese, accanto alla cattedrale. Colazione ricca e deliziosa, buoni i cornetti e tanti diversi dolcetti. Il personale molto accogliente ,gentile e veramente garbato. Lo consiglio sicuramente.

30/05/2025: Very elegant bar in the heart of the village, next to the cathedral. Rich and tasty breakfast, good croissants and all the sweets. The smiling staff very kind, welcoming and polite. I highly recommend it.

24/04/2025: It seems that a renovation has been made in the last few months, the photos before April 23rd, 2025 no longer correspond to the current seating, if the cook and waitress have changed, that is only a good achievement. I ate very well spaghetti rabiata and drinks, Aprol, beer and coffee for 21.50 euros, service was attentive because I wasn't alone..

03/06/2025: Absolutely perfect! From appetizer to dessert, service and atmosphere... It's the right place to have lunch on hot summer days, on that welcoming terrace.. The appetizer is worth all its reputation, offering various typical Calabrian products and is very very rich.. as is the mixed second course.. The first courses are also excellent but not in large quantities.. Highly recommended

30/05/2025: Ci si ritorna sempre con immenso piacere in questo posto del cuore per ristorare anima e palato. Si raggiunge comodamente, a sette chilometri dall’uscita A2 di Altilia, salendo verso Martirano. L’accoglienza è affidata a Massimiliano che ci fa sentire subito a casa, in cucina invece la moglie a la mamma, instancabile cuoca di questa osteria sin dagli anni 60. I piatti proposti seguono la stagione, raccontano il territorio e sono preparati con passione usando per lo più verdure, ortaggi e carni allevate in azienda. Dopo il ricco antipasto casereccio pieno di leccornie, consiglio le pappardelle con funghi porcini e salsiccia o condite con sugo di soppressata e olive o, ancora, con il ragù di maiale ed a seguire le ottime carni, dal pollo arrosto con patate, al coniglio alla cacciatora, agnello al forno o trippa. In questo periodo anche le fave fresche con la cotica. Si finisce con i dolcetti della casa e si innaffia con un gradevolissimo rosso sfuso delle loro vigne (gaglioppo e greco nero). Nella nella stagione si può gustare il pranzo nella veranda con affaccio sulla valle. Per un pranzo completo non si superano i 25/30 euro. Tappa che vale il viaggio!

08/06/2025: Ottimo posto, personale gentilissimo e altamente professionale. Vasta scelta di carne anche estera. Tutto sommato il prezzi sono abbastanza contenuti. Qui cucinano da Dio!

02/06/2025: Very friendly staff and the environment is nice and clean, there are lots of fans so you didn't suffer from the heat. For two, for lunch, we spent 63 EUR for a starter, 2 main courses, a side dish, a water, a beer and a dessert. Not exactly cheap but above all because, for a grill restaurant, I thought the meat was top, instead my grilled lamb chops were too dry and almost charred... (the mint sauce didn't taste the mint). I imagine they don't use the CBT cooking technique especially for meat but anyway I expected a little better.

01/12/2024: Un posto tranquillo e accogliente, dove sembra di stare a casa e pranzare in compagnia. Cibo ottimo e abbondante , gentilissimo signor Silletta, titolare del locale. Ho pranzato insieme alla mia famiglia e una coppia di amici, siamo stati benissimo.

14/01/2025: Con Gusto: a pleasant experience with room for growth... On Saturday morning I decide to book for two people at "Con Gusto", a restaurant that already presents itself on the phone with courteous and attentive staff, ready to gather all the information necessary for the reservation. A detail that suggests a certain attention to the customer. Arriving in the evening, in front of the entrance to the restaurant, I am pleased to notice the closed door and the presence of a bell. This detail, although simple, represents in my opinion a good business card: it avoids the constant coming and going of people, maintaining a more intimate and reserved atmosphere. Inside, the room is small but tastefully furnished, revealing a stylistic imprint that goes well with the identity of the restaurant. The staff immediately appears attentive and prompt, a welcome that bodes well for the rest of the evening. We sit down and are immediately served with water, a welcome entrée and an assortment of breadsticks, bread and focaccia, all strictly homemade. We opt for an appetizer to share, two first courses, two glasses of Ribolla and a dessert, also shared. On a culinary level, the quality of the dishes does not disappoint: well prepared, refined and with evidently quality ingredients. However, at the end of the evening, a particular feeling emerges. The restaurant seems to want to emulate a "luxury venue" experience, but some details are still missing to fully achieve that distinctive identity that makes "Con Gusto" an indispensable point of reference. It is as if it were in a transition phase, where the intention is there, but the result must be refined. The bill, 94 euros for what was ordered, is within the norm, although, perhaps, a slightly lower cost (about 10 euros less) would have made the quality-price ratio more balanced. Ultimately, "Con Gusto" is a restaurant that guarantees a good level of cuisine and attentive service, but which still has room for improvement to consolidate its identity. A pleasant experience, which offers a glimpse of potential and future growth.

02/07/2025: Excellent place, with prices rightly related to the quality of the dishes. The two new types of pizza (cloud and Roman) have excellent doughs and represent, if you want, a moment of sharing with other diners. The icing on the cake are definitely the desserts. Absolutely to try the decomposed cannolo and chocolate cake with raspberry heart that is served still hot.

29/06/2025: For those who want to try something unusual once in their life, I tried the recommended pizza with tuna tartare and courgette flowers, excellent I would say The rather high price corresponds to the quality of the flours and ingredients so indisputable

07/05/2025: Primo maggio a zonzo sulla costa ionica e alla disperata ricerca di un locale dove pranzare . Tutto chiuso o al limite pieno . Passiamo davanti a questa trattoria aperta e proviamo . Fanno un menù completo per la festa a 30 euro ma noi abbiamo fretta e ci accontenteremmo di un primo veloce . Sono gentili e ci preparano un tavolino che si è appena liberato . Prendiamo il doppio assaggio dei primi previsti dal menu odierno , maccheroni con salsiccia di maiale e strozzapreti con zucchine e pancetta ( credo ) , con una bella bottigliona di acqua fresca . Sono persino rapidi nel servizio , nonostante il locale sia pieno . Buoni anche i cibi . La sorpresa al momento del conto quando ci fanno pagare in tutto 17 euro ! . Che dire ? Grazie ancora .

07/05/2025: First of May wandering around the Ionian coast and desperately looking for a place to have lunch. Everything closed or almost full. We pass by this open restaurant and give it a try. They have a complete menu for the party for 30 euros but we are in a hurry and would be happy with a quick first course. They are kind and prepare a table for us that has just become available. We take a double taste of the first courses on today's menu, macaroni with pork sausage and strozzapreti with courgettes and bacon (I think), with a nice big bottle of fresh water. They are even quick with their service, even though the place is full. The food is also good. The surprise when we got the bill when they charged us a total of 17 euros! . What can I say? Thanks again.

09/06/2025: Nice restaurant with panoramic views of the Diamante sea. Elegant structure, very suitable for events and ceremonies. Quality cuisine, very good fish dishes, and the pizzeria is certainly up to par too. Friendly and helpful staff. In short,... I highly recommend!!

29/05/2025: This restaurant actually specializes in wedding celebrations, but the food is also very good. The fish is of the finest quality, and if you don't try the cedar sorbet, you're in for a treat! The service was also very friendly.

04/05/2025: I ended up at Giò’s pub after walking around Scalia a bit trying to find something for dinner. In Italy, everything Seems to fall into two categories, street food or fine dining. As soon as you walk into Giò’s, you notice the casual atmosphere. Families and young people enjoying time together with burgers and food free of pretense. I had the jalapeño poppers and a burger that I almost couldn’t finish. The topper? Ice. I got a glass of ice for my Coke. Lol, as an Americano it’s the small things in Italy that matter. I really enjoyed the energy of the customers and the service kept up with a full house. Bravo!

19/01/2025: I give 5 stars because it is a truly unique place in the historic center of Scalea... the owner is very professional and friendly, having an intolerance they helped me with everything with total transparency... I highly recommend
