03/11/2025: A necessary premise: - I've stayed four times over the years, the last one on the weekend of November 1-2, and three more in recent years, with my Lecce Motorcycle Club, friends, and my girlfriend, this time with my girlfriend, a couple of friends, and a daughter; - This review applies to four people, so it's four reviews in one; - Calabria region, Lake Ampollino area, Villaggio Palumbo, and the Ice Rink, simply my heart! Having said this, I'd like to add that Alessandro and Claudio are extraordinary people, excellent entrepreneurs—workers like few I've met, extremely kind, helpful, and capable both as entrepreneurs and as workers, truly exemplary. We've ALWAYS had a wonderful stay and even better dinners: authentic Calabrian cuisine and authentic wood-fired pizza. The family cares deeply about the local area, the authentic and profound Sila identity, and they demonstrate it from dawn to dusk, they never stop! This time they've outdone themselves: the accommodation (a cabin, previously known) is a truly intimate and welcoming gem, the restaurant, as always, offers unique flavors, and the Sila products, both home-grown and locally produced, are as surprising as they are. The warmth of the facility blends with the quality of the 'GUSTO SILA' products. This was the pleasant discovery of this last visit. A REAL amaro made ONLY with local herbs, with no sugar... wonderful, and the best part? The bottle for sale, a must-buy. Congratulations, guys! Your management is serious and exemplary, you bring wealth to the region and beyond. You are a point of reference for thousands of Apulians and Salento residents who now know you, and for half of Italy. And then... wonderful excursions on quads and horses, a shop where you can buy excellent products, both their own and local... there's so much more to say! Everyone was very satisfied, even the little one! See you next time.

08/10/2025: Terrible experience... dirty rooms, untrained staff... But worst of all, the owner was very rude and surly, certainly not up to the task of running a hotel restaurant.

09/02/2026: After spending 92 euros, I got home and it was missing 4 Coca Cola, 1 Fanta, the children's Actmel, cheese and all the sauces, shameful.

08/02/2026: I've had a few times where I've ordered MC Flurry to go, only to get home and notice that the ice cream doesn't even reach halfway up the glass. And that's what it costs.

19/05/2026: We've been customers of this restaurant for many years, and for this very reason, our latest experience was particularly disappointing. We ordered lamb, expecting the quality we were used to, but the dish served consisted almost entirely of bones, with very little meat. It was a terrible experience, as it tasted like scraps from the bottom of a pot. It's especially disappointing because we expected more attention from longtime customers. We certainly won't set foot in there again.

10/05/2026: I would give even less than one star, if it were possible, for the service we received and for what happened. The wait was interminable, both to place our order and to receive our food. After a while, seeing that nothing had arrived at our table, we asked a tall, dark-haired waiter, whose name I unfortunately don't know, for information. He replied with an unprofessional tone: "It will come, have faith." Furthermore, the dining room was extremely noisy due to the entertainment team in the next room, who evidently failed to adequately manage the children, making the atmosphere very noisy and unpleasant. The music from the television was on one side, and the entertainment team's music on the other. The only positive note: the availability of a cushion for the extremely hard chair I was sitting on (thanks to Valentina for her kindness). The appetizers and main courses arrived at the same time (which prevented us from eating the food properly and at the right temperature). Confusing orders. Dirty cutlery. I asked for an appetizer without onions or cheese, and it arrived with exactly those ingredients. The meatballs were full of oil, as were the montanarine (seasoned with a sour sauce). The rice balls were BOILED, WITH A HAIR INSIDE (I've attached a photo). A HAIR IN THE SALT TOO. The meatballs were incredibly tough. Total incompetence in cooking the meat (it wasn't even requested when ordering, and in fact the fillet was overcooked and the entrecote was raw). The staff smoked during their shifts, as if nothing had happened. The icing on the cake: a €0.60 discount for the meatball with the hair. We won't be returning, but we still recommend it. My only regret is the only two friendly waiters (Valentina and the bald man).

18/01/2026: We had a wonderful experience here! The Calabrian Spritz tasted delicious, unlike any other drink we've had in Calabria! The owner was very friendly. We highly recommend this bar.

24/10/2025: It's incredibly beautiful here. Aperol and Campari Spritz are truly amazing. Delicious snacks are on the house. Highly recommended.

12/04/2026: The waiter was only friendly to people he knew or identified as Italian. It felt very strange, especially since we were paying for the service and the coffee. We weren't pushing, we were on vacation after all—but being ignored for an extended period and only taking orders from other guests who arrived much later was a power play that was undignified and childish.

18/03/2026: The products are good, but the professionalism of some of the staff leaves much to be desired. "I went to this bar and had a delicious dessert. Unfortunately, due to my mistake (I spilled coffee at the counter), I was treated like a burden! While one barista was very kind and remade it for me right away, his colleague started grumbling and treating me poorly, despite my complete willingness to clean and my apologies. When she came out to clean, I offered to do it myself if she'd give me some paper, but she completely ignored me, cleaned in silence, and left without saying a word. The food may be good, but politeness and customer service are just as important."

07/04/2026: On Easter Monday we went to lunch and ate cold food and raw meat despite the request for it to be cooked well done, which was not to be repeated.

29/01/2026: ⭐ 1 STAR – ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES I'VE EVER HAD A dinner that could only be described as awful. Hot and cold appetizers were a nightmare: everything was covered in mustard in a clear attempt to disguise ingredients of questionable quality. Smelly salmon, old mussels, frozen and inedible octopus. Disgusted, my mother and I left the room without continuing our dinner. It was impossible to continue. Despite this, we paid €80, without making a scene, with politeness and respect—qualities we unfortunately didn't receive in return. As if that weren't enough, the owner's son even insulted us after we legitimately complained about the food. This was serious, unacceptable, and completely unprofessional behavior. Paying for nothing and then being insulted is something that should never happen in a restaurant open to the public. A humiliating experience. Absent quality. Nonexistent respect for the customer. Absolutely not recommended. Never again.
