She's the beating heart of the hosteria: she welcomes guests with infectious passion and expertly guides them through their dish selection. It's rare to find an owner so dedicated to showcasing the provenance and freshness of the ingredients; Luisa makes sure you almost "know" the day's catch before it arrives at the table, instilling absolute trust. Fish, of course, is the undisputed star. The quality is excellent, but it's the execution that makes the difference: perfectly cooked dishes that respect the delicate flavors of the sea, without unnecessary frills, focusing entirely on substance and freshness. Every bite confirms the extreme care put into the kitchen. The prices are absolutely in line with the quality offered. When the ingredients are of this quality and the service is so attentive and genuine, the value for money is fair and satisfying. In short: A must-try for those who love real fresh fish and are looking for an authentic atmosphere led by an exceptional hostess. I will definitely be back!

06/05/2026: Excellent grilled panini Regeliana: focaccia with pistachio cream cheese & mortadella!The sfogliatella riccia was warm & crunchy & buttery and absolutely the best sfogliatella I’ve tasted in southern Italy!🇮🇹 The barista & cooks & staff were so kind & patient and appreciated how much we enjoyed their delicious food! They made us feel so welcomed!

15/02/2026: My girlfriend and I went last night for Valentine's Day. The place is very large and spacious, and can also accommodate special events, but it's very out of the way. The evening was pleasant, but unfortunately I have to give it a low rating for two reasons: 1) The quality of the appetizer: in my opinion, the food was poor and packaged. We have so many local cured meats that going to Calabria and buying packaged items just to save a few euros isn't ideal. I ate it, but I felt sick that night. The pizza was good, but not the best. 2) Service: everything was fine. The staff were very attentive at the beginning and asked me about any intolerances on the pizza I had chosen, right up to the dessert and sparkling wine/Prosecco that were supposed to be served, but weren't served. I promptly reported this to the cashier, who was very kind and wanted to stop us or offer me a drink, which I declined because it was already late and I wanted to go home. The piano bar was very enjoyable, as was the Valentine's Day evening with the singer who, between songs, updated us on the Inter-Juventus match 😂. Overall, the experience wasn't bad, but I recommend reviewing the service and, above all, the quality of the ingredients. Sure, you charge €25 per person for a set menu with certain items, but at least include a decent appetizer that isn't prepackaged (cooked ham, which is the kind you get prepackaged in supermarkets). 03/10/2025: A great place – right next to their own butcher shop. Delicious and original pizza. We had the Guanciale (with bacon) and Tartufata (with beef tenderloin and truffle cream). Both were worth trying. The house-made meats are delicious. I recommend it! 🤗

16/08/2025: Some things could be improved, and quite a bit, and I'm not talking about the location. Just pizza and a lot of beer with a Coke. The pizza was sometimes overcooked, absurdly the opposite. The peppers were almost raw and inedible. A little more attention.

29/09/2025: The "Vecchia Guardia" restaurant clearly aspires to a luxury category, but it is light years away from understanding the fundamental needs of its guests. Our dinner experience for four on August 21, 2025, was a complete failure, especially regarding food allergies. Lack of Seriousness about "Gluten Free" We booked specifically because the website guaranteed availability for allergens, including gluten-free. Once seated, the unpleasant surprise: my wife, a celiac, was categorically denied any dish, including a simple slice of grilled meat. The only option was bottled water! This isn't "willingness to accommodate any need," but a clear example of misleading advertising aimed solely at attracting customers. Small Portions and Mediocre Quality The dishes were somewhere between meager and mediocre, with a presentation that was meant to mimic that of a "starred chef," but I'll leave you to imagine... with a quality that was, let's say, mediocre. The small quantity is unacceptable unless supported by an excellence that was totally absent here. The Bill: The Height of Negligence The highlight was the bill. Not only did they add a cover charge to my wife, who, through their negligence, was unable to eat anything, but, even more seriously, they included two dishes that were never served due to a clear oversight in the service. We had to point out the error to the waiter (who crossed out the amounts) and then again to the cashier, where the person in charge had not yet crossed out the missing side dishes, leaving the restaurant at 10:33 PM after the complaint. Disconcerting Service Finally, the service was disconcerting to say the least. The waiters and the lady kept bringing bread and other gluten-containing dishes right in front of my celiac wife. This is a total lack of care and professionalism, especially after being informed of her celiac disease. To describe the experience as "disappointing" is an understatement. It was unacceptable. I hope anyone reading this review will appreciate how carelessly this restaurant handles its promises and the basic needs of its customers.

29/08/2025: We went to this restaurant and had a really great time. The staff was very attentive and friendly, the service was excellent, and the food was fantastic. The value for money was excellent. We absolutely recommend it! If we ever find ourselves here on vacation, we'll be back! Thank you for the quality of the food and your professionalism!

29/06/2026: Historically, the lido was established under an agreement with the Dominicus Hotel (across the highway), thus catering to specific needs, but it has always maintained its independence by welcoming external guests as well. It's a well-established seasonal establishment that has refined itself over the years and achieved (even aesthetically) a commendable sophistication. Clean, tidy, and bright, with its veranda practically on the beach, it's worth ordering at the restaurant even before ordering, even just for an aperitif. The pizzeria has an electric oven and is surprisingly high quality; the cuisine is even more so. Fair prices, kindness, and hospitality. We hope they maintain their pace and spirit over time. Bravi! Bravi! Bravi!

28/06/2026: I just finished eating :), what a show! Amazing linguine with seafood and an exceptional fresella with octopus. The beach is well-kept and well-equipped, the owners are friendly and helpful. What can I say? We had a great time, as always. We've been coming here for 3 years now, and the standard is always the same, in fact, they get better every year. Well done.

26/04/2026: Got my order done pretty quickly, the staff was cheerful and welcoming too (especially the Argentinian lady and the tall lady with glasses). I got the Piatto Kebab without spicy sauce and Patatine with Kebab (small size), everything tasted amazing (though the chips were a bit too salty in my opinion). Very generous portions, couldn't even finish everything by myself 😝 My total was 14€. Would definitely recommend!

14/03/2026: If you're in Paola, you have to come and eat the delicious food prepared at Roj Doner Kebab. Everything is delicious, good food, plentiful, affordable prices, family atmosphere, good service from the staff, run by the owners. They also offer their friendliness to make you have the best time at their kebab shop (a thousand thanks for the friendship, from Argentina, Elena's grandma and grandpa). Greetings.

22/11/2025: I hate to say it, but I'm Neapolitan. I ate a pizza Lucicefero thinking it would be spicy, but besides not being spicy, the pizza leaves a lot to be desired. A place called Napul'e that claims to serve Neapolitan cuisine is a far cry.

16/11/2025: Simply the best restaurant on the Ionian coast near Cosenza. Super fresh fish, refined and generous dishes, exceptional execution, and a professional and friendly staff. The best!
