03/11/2025: We stayed this weekend for the truffle festival in Carbone. It was a wonderful experience: the chalet was super clean, nestled in the woods, Alberto provided a unique welcome, and the food was excellent. Everything was truly excellent. Thanks again!

10/11/2025: This trattoria is excellent for its location and convenient on-street parking nearby. It's also excellent for the quality of the food and the generous portions. The house antipasto features outstanding ingredients, such as cured meats and cheeses, which have a lovely distinct flavor, unlike those in the supermarket that all seem the same. I'm only holding back on giving it five stars because of the location, which I expected more from a trattoria. It's a casual place, but the food is truly excellent. The pizza is also excellent. I recommend trying it.

29/10/2025: A welcoming atmosphere, a TV in the dining room, air conditioning if needed, homemade cuisine with fresh daily ingredients, generous portions, and a very friendly and helpful staff. Lunch is around €20 per person, including a full meal. Off-menu dishes are also available, except on holidays. Takeout is available every day, with a wide selection. On Wednesdays and Fridays, the menu features fresh fish from the fishmonger. In the evenings, pizza is also available, and is very good. Closed on Tuesdays during the winter. Recommended.

16/11/2025: An excellent lunch at Agriturismo Crescente: a perfect place for those seeking tranquility, authenticity, and true connection with nature. The ingredients are all home-grown, fresh, and delicious, and the fixed-price menu allows you to enjoy the day without any surprises. We enjoyed every course; everything was truly delicious. The outdoor spaces and the presence of animals make it ideal for children, too, who can play and learn about country life in safety. The road to get there is a bit winding, but that's perfectly normal in Pollino and totally worth it. Highly recommended for quality, atmosphere, and authenticity!

11/10/2025: We stayed at Borgo la Tana during the two central weeks of August. The property is beautiful, with well-kept gardens and spacious rooms—ours, a mini-apartment—with a small table and chairs outside to enjoy the cool evening breeze. The rooms are extremely clean and practical, equipped with drying racks, handy soap dispensers for both shower and hand soap, and a wall-mounted hairdryer. The entire staff was very friendly, from the cleaning ladies, always ready with a smile and ready to "fix" the mess on the beach, like sand and pebbles everywhere, to the waiters, who were also present but not pushy. The cuisine is varied, with both local and non-local meat and fish dishes, and there is a discreet and efficient restaurant manager who oversees the main meals. The property's true treasure, however, is Mr. Aldo, a man in love with his homeland, provided us with information on the main beaches to visit and any special offers available at the resorts, right from the first evening. He also provided pocket-sized brochures to take with us to reach our desired destinations. Finally, a special mention for the self-service breakfast we enjoyed every morning: homemade cakes, traditional pastries, fresh figs picked every morning, and honeycomb! 23/09/2025: We arrived as guests for a few nights. The rooms were excellent, clean, and the air conditioning worked well. On the first evening, we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. It was tidy and the service very friendly. For us, it was very bright, which perhaps made the atmosphere a little less romantic. You can clearly see what you're eating. Both the tuna and the swordfish were overcooked and dry, but that might be due to the Southern Italian way of preparing them. For hotel guests, there's a breakfast buffet next to the pool. When we arrived, we thought it was a sandwich shop, but you can point to what you want and it's brought to you. Again, the service was very friendly. Swimming caps were required for the pool, an old Italian tradition we've encountered less and less frequently, this year only at Borgo La Tana.

It all began about 25 years ago, even professionally, for Lucanian director Giampiero Francese, who returned last year to direct the Cinespettacolo "La Storia Bandita" in the Grancia Park of Brindisi Montagna.
