22/10/2023: The mussels were very tasty and abundant in quantity, very well presented. The mixed seafood pasta with mussels, classic, shrimp was amazing with a tasty sauce . So good and was able to dip some bread in also. The cuttlefish was also well presented and tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant. What a treat to have so many good choices of fish and seafood on the menu. The service was first class. I would reccomend this restaurant for atmosphere, service, food , and wine. Best diner yet in Italy.

02/01/2024: Please do not give companies like this your money. Go to any other friendly establishment in Matera. Cafés like this and people like this or what give Italy a bad name. Just so you know, your bread and butter is from the money of tourists. The bald guy behind the bar was so rude and the other servers wouldn’t even move out of your way after you waited for five minutes just having conversation with each other. Even to see the food on display they clearly do not want certain people in there. I’m not sure who it is if it’s tourists or what I am well dressed and well mannered. Maybe it’s race, maybe it’s bias against tourists, or maybe they are just rude. I regret even giving them a cent. I went in to buy a pastry as I walk around the city. It’s a cafe you are allowed to do that. At first, the guy was nice but at the end of check out, he asked if I was paying with cash or card. I am sorry that tourists sometimes have to rely on card and the establishment of excepts it so I’m not sure why he was complaining so much that I was paying in card. If it was a problem he could’ve just asked for cash only. He then went off in Italian in a way that made me feel so uncomfortable. He started to talk to another customer about me who could see I was uncomfortable, but seemed like he was going along with it. I don’t know if he was a local or what. I’m considered nice and overly accommodating was not even near anyone or bothering anyone but I was shook. I would never come here and honestly why give your precious vacation savings to towns that don’t appreciate it- Italy relies on tourists be kinder to other people. And I’m confused on why these waiters think they own the town or the restaurant even if they’re disgruntled with her lives, don’t take it out on other people. You are in the service industry you were supposed to be nice I am also in the service industry I don’t ruin people’s days for no reason. Seeing the other negative reviews was not surprising for me at all based on my experience

16/07/2023: Bad service. Bad food. They charge €2.50 per person to sit at a table. Go anywhere else for a better meal. Pasta was undercooked and expensive. I asked for some pepper and had to ask again 5min after as the waiter clearly forgot and was serving their next victim. We paid €45 for two bowls of pasta and two glasses of wine. AVOID

13/08/2023: Carne molto buona e porzioni decisamente abbondanti. Due pecche solamente: bicchieri usa e getta, patate fritte portate almeno 10 minuti prima delle portate… per il resto davvero tutto ottimo.

27/07/2023: Carne pessima, conto maggiorato includendo bibite non ordinate. Il proprietario si è giustificando incolpado i camerieri e dubitando della nostra buona fede. Sconsigliato per qualità e servizio.

22/08/2023: Sono stata sul lungomare di Bari, ho preso il taxi da Matera con Luigi Chiffi, il presidente dei taxi, in data Luglio 2023, siamo partiti da Matera e ci siamo avviati per destinazione lungomare di Bari, vicino la stazione centrale, ci siamo presi un caffe' in un bar lì vicino e poi ci siamo fermati a vedere un po' il mare, si sentiva l'odore del mare, il mare era limpido, azzurro, c'era molta gente che passeggiava, le barche a vela e qualche pescatore, c'erano anche i gabbiani, ho scattato alcune foto ricordo, e' stata una splendida serata, indimenticabile, vorrei ritornare dinuovo anche perche' c'era molto movimento, la serata era calda, spero di ritornarci presto, vi ringrazio per l'attenzione e buona giornata, Rossana Papapietro, Matera

23/08/2023: I wouldn't even give one star for nervousness, but since I can't I'll only give one. I specify that my vote is for the non-hospitality (I think) of the owner who, while I go to pay, doesn't even look me in the eye or say good evening. Just before we ask for the bill and after we wait patiently for 15 minutes a girl tells us "just a moment, the person who gives the receipts is busy", we wait again until we say that we have to leave because we live far away. Returning to the bill, he turns on the POS and holds it out in front of me without even telling me the price, looking at me, without listing the things eaten and without even giving me the receipt in my hand. Sincere congratulations.

04/12/2023: La degustazione dei 6 antipasti (n.b.degustazione, non banale carrellata) raggiunge livelli di cucina creativa degni di nota. L'ambiente interno è intimo e caldo, il dehor con affaccio sull'immensa valle dei calanchi è da apprezzare al tramonto. Il personale in sala è professionale, il proprietario un uomo che con gentilezza e pathos ti fa sentire nel posto giusto, la chef che porta a tavola personalmente le portate racconta di un ristorante che crede in quello che fa. Oltre agli antipasti 292 offre soprattutto hamburger e cibi da pub. Vini in bottiglia interessanti. Prezzi estremamente giusti.
