06/09/2025: I was actually looking for bocconotti and found pasticciotti. I had a non-alcoholic drink so I didn't order anything fancy, but the service was quick and the waitress was friendly, so it deserves the high rating.

12/12/2025: Cool place set in a cave. Very unique setting but do not offer table service. Food was mediocre, lacking flavour and a little bland. Although they had the best bread that I've had in Italy. Can't comment on service since there wasn't any. There was a person taking orders and clearing tables who was friendly,and efficient.
10/12/2025: We had dinner at La Grotta Del Gusto, a cave restaurant literally across the road from our cave apartment.
Given the rough terrain (and rainy weather) we were happy to find such a good restaurant close by.
The funny part of it was they have no wait staff! You order at the bar and pick up your food when it’s ready. And no, you don’t need to bus your own table!
We started with peperoni cruschi, a specialty of the area. They are sweet peppers that have been dried and fried. They are potato chip-like (and addicting).
I had the lamb stew cooked in a terra-cotta pot; she had the cavatelli with cardoncelli mushrooms and sausage, along with a bottle of Primitivo from Basilicata. Perfect comfort food on a cold and damp night!

19/06/2025: I have been a guest of Pierfaone on the occasion of some weddings, including, recently, mine! I can confirm the very high quality and professionalism of the service as well as the food, very difficult to find elsewhere. The location is beautiful and well-kept, as well as being suggestive in winter and welcoming in summer. Both for events and for staying, the climate is mild and fresh even in summer. Absolutely and warmly recommended. Thanks in particular to Donato and Daniele who were impeccable as well as to the rest of the staff, from the first to the last available, kind and very prepared!

24/09/2025: The food was quite good, although some dishes were undercooked, salty, and a little burned. There were only two waiters for the entire restaurant, so much so that at one point we had to go get water directly from the counter.
05/09/2025: My boyfriend and I were here and it was a truly enjoyable evening. The atmosphere is welcoming, simple yet refined. We started with a platter of excellent cured meats, followed by delicious arrosticini, bombette, and meatballs with caramelized onion, which confirmed the authenticity of the cuisine. The pizza al ruoto was also delicious. Highly recommended for a dinner with family or friends.

Soft, light, and flavorful pizza, with a super-digestible dough that doesn't leave you feeling heavy. Fairly priced for truly exceptional quality.
It's essential to book well in advance, especially for takeout, but also to secure a free table.
The only drawback: the place is quite small, and on peak days the wait for your pizza can be long, understandably so, given that the pizza chef works alone.
With some help in the kitchen and a larger space, the service could really improve further.
