03/03/2026: A tiny but very cute place with unique draft beers and an endless selection of bottled beers. I drank a very good chestnut ale. The atmosphere is informal and friendly, like being at a friend's house. There's no menu, but you can bring your own food or order something from the street. A great compromise between a small place and great options. Worth a visit.

04/01/2026: We spent New Year's Eve at the old cellars of Chianni, taking advantage of a three-day package that also included a New Year's Eve dinner. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the kind Alessio, who assigned us two very spacious and welcoming rooms on the first floor, with vaulted ceilings and comfortable beds. On the evening of the dinner, the dining room was beautifully decorated and the food was abundant, with well-prepared meat and fish, using excellent ingredients, and including high-quality local drinks. The evening was enlivened by Andrea's live music, with the option of requesting songs from a wide selection thanks to the QR code left on the tables, allowing everyone to listen to their favorite hits. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with a wide selection of sweet and savory options. We were traveling with our Cocker Spaniel, who was made very welcome. Thanks to the courtesy of the staff, the authenticity of the property, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the quality of the restaurant, we had a truly pleasant stay that allowed us to explore the Valdera, with Chianni as our base. We will return in spring to enjoy new shades of color on these rolling hills.

21/03/2026: Have been here twice and always book a table when we visit from Los Angeles. All the food is FANTASTIC, especially the ones paired with Brunello. Coming back in June. See you soon!

20/03/2026: We had a really great meal! We ate there twice during our three-day stay. We had bruschetta as a starter and pasta afterwards. The dessert was fantastic each time. We paid €75 for a starter, two main courses, dessert, wine, etc. I can't think of anywhere else where we've had food that was significantly cheaper, especially not of this quality.

24/12/2025: I had lunch at La Cucina dello Scompiglio today, and overall, I'm giving it three stars based more on trust than on genuine satisfaction (otherwise, it would have been two). The main issue, from my perspective, is a significant discrepancy between the menu and what's actually served. The vocabulary used on the menu creates expectations that aren't reflected in either the plating or the overall experience. The presentation of the dishes was very basic, even sloppy. A concrete example is the charcuterie and cheese platter: served not on a real platter but on a serving platter, with cold cuts piled together, under-appreciated cheeses, and a jam placed in a rather questionable manner. Overall, a dish that feels "thrown in," out of line with the offerings and, especially, the price. Regarding the quality of the meat and the plating of the other dishes, I wasn't convinced by the quality of the food compared to the price. Another important aspect: the menu is almost entirely based on vegetables/vegetarian dishes. Nothing bad in itself, but this should be made much clearer. My friends and I had a hard time choosing because the menu didn't clearly communicate this. Another negative note about dessert: I ordered a revisited panna cotta, which I barely tasted and left almost entirely. I didn't like it at all, and was surprised that no one asked if I liked it. Considering a panna cotta is a rather simple dessert, it left me perplexed. I sincerely believe the place has potential, but in my opinion it needs a general overhaul: from the menu, to the presentation, to the consistency between the menu, dishes, and prices. I hope this review can be useful as a starting point for improvement. For now, personally, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

15/11/2025: A bar with homemade pastries, phenomenal!! There was a wide selection of desserts; we tried the torta della nonna, which is spectacular (it melts in your mouth) and the almond and caramel tart. Everything was delicious! Inside, they also sell products made by the Camaldolese monks (mostly liqueurs and sweets). Next door, there's also a shop selling traditional cured meats and cheeses.

15/03/2026: This is my first time buying a pre-made birthday cake. It was surprisingly delicious! Not only was it beautiful, but it was also delicious! Thank you for your kindness, but above all for delighting and pampering the birthday girl!

15/03/2026: Last night we celebrated my daughter's 22nd birthday. Romina made me an extraordinary cake for the occasion, obviously delicious and stunning to look at. As always, during the preparation phase, we found a welcoming atmosphere, with kind, friendly, helpful, and very professional staff. Romina is truly amazing!!! ❤️

19/11/2025: Their meatballs are the best, both the chicken ones and the others. Their first courses are also good, both fish (risotto alla pescatora) and meat dishes. My partner's mother and grandparents always go there. The only thing I recommend making more often is the pasta with tomato sauce and pizza.
