02/07/2025: As a restaurateur, I know what it means to manage a sudden change in a reservation: we started with a table of 10 and arrived with 22, all communicated promptly as the diners were added... and I fully understand the discomfort that a situation like this can create. Precisely to facilitate the service and allow for smooth management, we ourselves proposed a single menu for everyone. Since the diners were coming from different parts of Italy, and we spared no expense... we wanted to offer them a taste of the local cuisine, perhaps with a selection of appetizers, a couple of first courses and a typical second course. Instead, with an attitude not inclined to discussion and almost annoyed, we were forced to choose a menu consisting of an appetizer and a mixed grill. No real openness to dialogue, no alternative proposal. We let it slide - there was no point in arguing. The food? Excellent, nothing to say. The location? Simply wonderful. But let me say, with all understanding and respect between colleagues: a smile costs nothing, and it makes all the difference. Welcoming with courtesy, especially large groups, is a fundamental part of hospitality. Even the best cuisine loses part of its value if the person serving it seems almost disturbed by our presence. With a little more empathy and human warmth, the experience would have been truly perfect

25/06/2025: A pleasant surprise. The service is professional and fast, and the cuisine is simple but well-executed. My risotto allo scoglio was rich in seafood and well-seasoned. Fish isn't easy to find in Tuscany, and here you can have the first and second courses made with fish! The rum baba was very good. I'll be back!

22/07/2025: Visit Nonna Isola and experience an evening full of amazing food, excellent wine and even better company. The menu sports varying courses throuhout the year and the service is both charming and forthcoming. The stay at this restaurant was the highlight of our trip. A well deserved 5 stars!

22/07/2025: I'm usually not the kind of person who orders a full-course dinner, but I am so glad that I tried. I got some prawns with seaweed as a starter, pasta with herring as a first course, a tuna steak with veggies and soy sauce as a second, and some ice cream for dessert. I'm not an expert, but it felt like a blend of Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine. I loved it so much that I came back the next day. It was easily the best food I had this year. Definitely go there if you are in the area.

13/08/2025: Excellent and delicious, there are no other words, from the welcome, the friendliness, to the truly delicious food, from delicious appetizers to generous, tasty and authentic first courses, and phenomenal desserts! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening! A must-visit if you're in Lucca. I had a Campari Spritz for the sultry evening and it was completely satisfying! Thanks again!

16/07/2025: Unfortunately disappointed despite high expectations; food good and well prepared but not at exceptional levels. Excellent wine list. Inaccurate service. In my personal experience, the year 2024, my wife's birthday, I booked the birthday cake and a bouquet of flowers on the restaurant's website and paid the advance; at the time of dinner there was no cake, no bouquet of flowers, nor did they see that I had paid 150 in advance. Unpleasant indeed, and birthday ruined. The very kind owner apologized by giving away a bottle of medium quality champagne but it certainly doesn't solve the problem. Average high price. To be reevaluated

16/07/2025: Always a guarantee at Filippo's! Delicious scampi carpaccio, beautifully presented, a shame to eat! The rest was equally delicious. Everything was prepared with extreme simplicity but with refined taste. The waiters and chef were equally excellent! In short, highly recommended.

31/07/2025: Overall, three stars, mainly for the view, location, and atmosphere. The pasta was very average, the price was not adequate, and everything was the same. The waitress mixed up the orders, and instead of pasta with duck, I got rabbit. There was no children's menu. We had to order a large portion of pasta with tomato sauce. One of the children simply ordered the baked potatoes; unfortunately, they were inedible, hard, and seemed to have been reheated. Overall, we paid 85 euros for four people, and no one was happy.

29/07/2025: We had lunch at Osteria Fornelli and were very satisfied. I tried the rabbit, which was cooked to perfection: tender, flavorful, and rich in flavor. I would have liked to try much more, but the restaurant was practically always packed, a sign of its popularity. The location is truly picturesque, with a spectacular view of the Volterra hills, even more captivating at sunset. Fair prices and excellent quality. An experience I highly recommend to anyone visiting Volterra.

01/08/2025: My friends and I stopped by chance on our way. It was a perfect choice. 👌 A pleasant place, delicious food (fantastic gnocchi and ravioli, delicious seafood spaghetti!). Generous portions. Efficient and friendly service. Highly recommended. Prices comparable to other (but often inferior) restaurants.

27/07/2025: The staff are friendly and welcoming, eager to please. A good selection of pizzas (available only for dinner) and sandwiches. For lunch, they offer pasta dishes, but I can't comment on them as I haven't tried them. I recommend them for their fair/average prices and particularly soft-crust pizzas.

04/08/2025: We dined in the lovely internal garden. The place was welcoming and the staff were friendly. The quality/price ratio was competitive for Florence. I recommend the raw ham. Delicious! I'll be back to try other dishes.

06/05/2025: Local found by chance to finish the evening... it was an authentic and pleasant surprise: you are welcomed into a truly relaxing and very intimate environment, as if you were in "your personal corner to take refuge in". Very kind owners and really excellent cocktails. All wrapped up in this environment, as mentioned before, truly unique, particular and enveloping. It goes without saying that we will return soon, because places so well designed and that really manage to give off that feeling of "feeling good", are not at all easy to find in this area. I really recommend you pay us a visit.

16/04/2025: Sono stato in questo ristorante per caso, devo dire che mi ha solo notevolmente stupito appunto me lo ricco tutto estremamente buono e peraltro anche molto economico. Assolutamente da provare

11/04/2025: Con degli amici abbiamo scelto di mangiare in festa locanda. Non aspettatevi lussi o cose da chef stellati….ma potrete mangiare come dei “bottini rumati”! Piatti della tradizione maremmana….. Personale gentile che per il prezzo modico di 25 euro non fa mancare cibo e bevande che sono comunque di qualità eccelsa! Consigliato veramente!!

25/06/2025: Este es el lugar más increíble. El dueño es el tipo más agradable del planeta. Tuvimos una lección fabulosa sobre sus bebidas y cócteles y sus versiones de licores y mezclas. Bueno, fue un miércoles tranquilo por la noche, pero vamos a volver una y otra vez.

15/05/2025: Bellissimo ristorante con pochi tavoli elegantemente apparecchiati, consiglio la prenotazione. L’ambiente è accogliente e il titolare molto gentile e davvero competente, pietanze raffinate e ingredienti di qualità. Abbiamo ordinato antipasto toscano con affettati/formaggi e crostini con lardo di colonnata al tartufo, tutto veramente buono. Primi piatti con pasta fresca “pici” ottimi e i dolci ricercati. Anche il vino della casa molto buono. Ci torneremo.
