17/07/2026: The place has now changed management and is called IR PASTAIO: now it's definitely very convenient. Basically, you choose the fresh pasta from the counter and the dish is then served in the type you like (carbonara, ragù di mucco, etc.). For just €6, for example, they'll get you a huge plate of caciuccata di fusilli!!! Really well prepared!!! Far from the crazy prices of many restaurants... Highly recommended place and unfortunately not advertised enough. For like €10 you can have pasta and dessert 👍👍👍

27/06/2026: Ir Tegame no longer exists. It's now called Ir Pastaio, the same place and the same menu, but it's like a diner: you choose your pasta shape and sauce, then you eat at a small table with plastic cutlery and a placemat that you take and throw away. Fast food prices and nothing more. They don't take reservations.

05/01/2026: We stumbled upon it last night with our girls, and it was a lovely surprise. The food was truly excellent: quality ingredients, beautifully combined, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We tried the creamy and succulent pumpkin and scamorza risotto, the mouth-watering carboburger, and the pork pluma, a real treat, expertly cooked. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

27/07/2026: Maito clearly has a reputation which unfortunately relies only on legacy. Waitrons are obviously incentivized to upsell but without the delicate skills required to be tactful. We were assured that the Bellini my wife ordered was the real deal. As Italians it should be an embarrassment for them to call it a Bellini especially when you pour the equivalent of a peach ice tea into a bubbly! The meat was marbled and tasty but could have fed four instead of two. The vibe, though, was festive and relaxing. Forte dei Marmi is losing its appeal and Maito is the metaphor for this decline. Not even the Roman Empire could survive the excess and abuse… New year and feeling a little more forgiving we agreed to give Maito a second chance. Our table location at the beach entrance was a good start as was our pizza frenetica as our starter. The meat selection was excellent but then it all fell apart when our fish order went awry. The grilled fish was proudly presented and then went awol. Clearly served to the wrong table but the excuse, when plating it, it became evident it needed to be returned to the grill. Gaslighting! The number of tables have been increased but it was clear that insufficient waitrons were on duty to maintain the requisite quality of service. Pity that the proprietors don’t understand that cutting corners is quickly exposed to their own detriment.

23/07/2026: Extremely slow service! Food was okay, there are much better places in the area.. definitely do not recommend!

13/08/2026: An excellent restaurant with tables practically on the waterfront. The restaurant overlooks the beach on the west side of the harbor. The dishes are primarily seafood, but there are also some meat specialties. Excellent ingredients and top-quality preparations. Traditional dishes and recipes revisited with a modern twist. Fast and professional service. Good wine list. Prices are medium to high. Every time we return, it's always a pleasant experience.

21/07/2026: Beautiful setting. The owner made us feel at home and was incredibly kind. Some of the best seafood I’ve ever had.

03/05/2026: It's not the first time I've dined at this place, but things have changed over time. They haven't served pizza anymore, I think for a few years now, and I'm disappointed (surely a personal choice by the place, with its own reasons). The dishes we ordered tonight were of poor quality, unfortunately, and we were disappointed. The chicken cutlets, both in a sandwich and served as a main course, were burnt, and the outside was very dark and almost dry. The platter was nothing special. The beer, however, was excellent. The service was average, a bit slow considering there were only a few tables occupied. It's a shame, however, that we didn't get the same quality as a few years ago, because the board games and the overall atmosphere are what set them apart. It would be perfect to have a good dinner as well.

28/02/2026: Guided by the name of friendship and adventure, I came here in search of delights and refreshment: I found it. Excellent sandwiches and a magical atmosphere. Reservations are recommended if you want to try the great Chutlu.

24/05/2026: I'm coming to Italy not to eat cheap, stale crisps served to justify a €3 "service charge," not even to drink a small glass of €8 table wine.

17/05/2026: Worst pizza we've ever eaten. Relatively thick, not crispy, and the dough was tasteless. After having fantastic pizza in the center of Pisa, this was a complete disappointment.

25/04/2026: It might look nice from the outside, but the service was terrible and the food was beyond our comprehension. We waited ages to eat and pay, which was supposed to be in their best interest. They had placed our order at the wrong table, and since they didn't want to make us wait any longer, after half an hour they brought us raw, cold food. They tried to make up for it by not charging us for the dishes and taking €2 off our bill. Highly discouraged. A terrible impression.

15/06/2026: We went for lunch and had burgers. Food was not good (meat was tasteless, buns were basic supermarket ones, frozen fries). Quantities were pretty small for a 15€ meal. I’m afraid we won’t recommend

09/08/2026: Pleasant atmosphere, but unjustified bill The place is really nice, and the wait staff was courteous and professional. Unfortunately, the downside is the food: decidedly small portions at truly exorbitant prices. Paying a lot for quality is fine, but when the dishes don't even wow your palate, you feel cheated. It's definitely not a place for everyone, and in my opinion, it's definitely not worth the expense. I won't be returning.

08/08/2026: I stopped here for lunch with my boyfriend. We ordered two starters: linguine with mussels and zucchini flowers and linguine with sea urchins and clams. Unfortunately, both dishes were very bitter and tasteless, and both portions were small. The quality of the fish didn't seem fresh at all, definitely not a good value 🤷‍♀️ With the two starters, a bottle of water, and cover charge, we paid €63.00. We were very disappointed. The place itself is very nice and well-kept, but it's a shame about the food.

08/05/2026: Here I am, we stumbled upon this property by chance. We had booked in Lucca, but we ran away because the apartment was so filthy. Everything around us was fully booked, so I called this hotel after finding a deal on Booking. I have to say, it was a lucky find, first of all because it was the last room, and secondly because it was practically right next to the center of Altopascio. The hotel isn't newly built, and the rooms aren't the most innovative—let's say a bit dated—but the empathy, hospitality, and attention to guests are, at least for us, top notch. The owner, Aurora, and her husband, Luciano, were incredibly kind, as was Rita, our assistant, who was incredibly helpful, honestly. They gave us so much information on how to best visit the area, and made us feel like family. Speaking of breakfast, I have to say it's superb: fresh croissants of all kinds, bread, cured meats, cheese, eggs, toast, etc. The breakfast buffet is very extensive, both sweet and savory. Vending machines for coffee, barley, hot chocolate, hot water, various teas and herbal teas, juice and jam dispensers—in short, for a 3-star hotel, I think it's top notch. There's not much to say about cleanliness either; perhaps it would have been nice if the stain cover had been changed between guests, but I have to say it wasn't necessary. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos. If we were to return to the area, this would be the first hotel I'd call. Thanks again ☺️🙏🏼

06/05/2026: Absolutely avoidable, both as a hotel and as a restaurant. The 4-cheese pasta tasted like nothing, not even cheese. The chicken was stuck on a toothpick, and I ended up with a piece in my mouth. AVOID!!!

06/05/2025: Reading the reviews, it seemed like a retro place, but with a simple but valid offering. We happened upon a night when pizza wasn't available (perhaps you should specify this when you book, since it's primarily a pizzeria) due to their own problems. We decided to stay anyway, given how late it was, and we regretted it: terrible appetizers, poorly prepared and rushed first courses. It's a shame because it really gave the impression of a tired, worn-out place. From the staff to the place, I couldn't find a single positive thing... not even the POS was working that night. I'm sorry, but I would never recommend it.

15/07/2026: Last evening on the island of Elba, we were looking for a special place for dinner. Near the port of Marina di Campo we saw the L'Approdo restaurant, and we were won over by its charming appearance and the view of the sea!!! Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience on all fronts!! Terrible food, poor quality and even worse cooking, the staff gave me the impression of intolerance, the prices too excessive for the quality and service. They brought one dish at a time, practically we didn't all dine together, a terrible mistake for a restaurant. I sent back the fried fish twice, it was soaked in oil, uneatable. They didn't bring the menu to my son, who is on the autism spectrum... He can read very well... I decided with bitterness to leave this extension, which I usually don't do. I am ending my stay on this beautiful island, which has given me so many emotions, with this unfortunately negative experience. I hope it is constructive for the restaurant.

07/01/2026: Pizzeria on the promenade. The pizza used to be good, but I think pizzerias don't exist anymore.

22/09/2025: Service: The wine we wanted to drink, which the staff said was a great decision, wasn't available. The bottle that we then ordered was brought to us open, but we couldn't even test it first, so we had to pour the first glass ourselves. The waiter had problems speaking english and was not flexible at all with the dish selection, since many dishes weren't available. We had to pay inside at the register, so with all that in mind, why does one have to pay cover charge? Food: The mozarella in the caprese salad was very jewy and the olive oil and aceto balsamico came in plastic bags, again why cover charge? The fish was okay but bland. The gnocchi were mushy and the shrimp sauce tasted frozen with a weird rotten fish aftertaste. Also the shrimps were cut open and there were scissors of other sea animals in the dish. We had to return it because it was inedible.
