12/09/2025: A perfect Irish pub for a night out with friends. Very clean, tastefully decorated, and with impeccable service: friendly and helpful staff. The beers are excellent, and the food is equally impressive: excellent burgers and delicious cheddar and bacon fries.

11/09/2025: Trieste's Temple of Beer. A welcoming and distinctive atmosphere, with wooden furniture and dark, intimate pub-like tones. The food quality is truly remarkable, and the beer selection is vast and varied, though there are some consistent favorites, like Chimay. The service is meticulously crafted, and there's a respectable selection of spirits. The bartender is approachable and approachable, like the bartenders of old. The experience is worth the price.

23/08/2025: On 23.08.2025, we wanted to eat at this restaurant at 21:25, but unfortunately it didn't happen, because one of the "nice" waitresses sent us away, saying that they were no longer serving food because they were full, while we saw several free, empty tables. Fortunately, another lady showed us that there was another restaurant nearby. If anyone wants to eat here after 9 pm, they should look for another place. The interesting and sad thing about it is that the place closes at 22:45... It was a disappointment, but at least the view was nice.😌

20/08/2025: Buffet L'Approdo is an ideal stop for those who want to enjoy authentic Trieste cuisine. The atmosphere is simple and welcoming, and the staff is friendly. The typical dishes, such as sardines, goulash, creamed cod, and warm cooked ham with horseradish, are excellent. Generous portions and fair prices. An authentic restaurant well worth a visit.

27/08/2025: I've rarely been so disappointed by a renowned fish restaurant. Even as a teenager, our father took us to Vitello d'Oro for special occasions, and whenever I was in Udine and had time, I visited this restaurant, remembering the wonderful meals with my parents and the excellent cuisine. Today, the restaurant is an example of what happens when you betray tradition and fail to embrace modernization—such as fusion cuisine. It becomes nothing more than an expensive fish restaurant, living off its former name and failing to live up to the standards of the past or present. And there's not even a hint of fine cuisine... My companion and I ate the following dishes: - "Datemi una sarda!" - "Ravioli, capra, bottarga e limone" and the house specialty as a Piatto iconico – the signature dish - "Risotto di Scampi & Scampi" Even before the first course, we were served olive oil butter with herbs on a river stone, which unfortunately only tasted of stone, not olive oil with herbs. The sardine pieces, in a cold cucumber soup (?), were still somewhat edible, albeit lacking the authentic flavor, but the smoky smell allowed us to eat them without tasting the sardines. The nine tiny ravioli, however, which we had been particularly looking forward to because of their goat cheese filling, were a real disappointment. Instead of the flavor of cheese wrapped in the delicate pasta of a ravioli, all we tasted was a watery, fishy mass, whose pungent fishy smell made us nauseous. We love eating fish and highly value fish eggs, but what we smelled was worse than a dirty Adriatic harbor after a hot summer day. Incredibly bad! We sent the dish back. Hoping that the house specialty would still taste good, we weren't too disappointed (the bread in the basket tasted good, and that made the wait more bearable), but then came pure disappointment: the worst risotto we've ever eaten. Not only was the rice undercooked—and I'm not talking about "al dente!" here, because cooking "al dente" is a prerequisite for a good risotto (you can see from the photo that the rice isn't al dente, but still raw!). The risotto from the once-good restaurant "Vitello d'Oro" was raw, watery, and not creamy, with two or three tiny pieces of scampi and three raw pieces of scampi placed on top, garnished with a thick line of pepper. The amount of risotto would have filled maybe 2-3 tablespoons, and the scampi were cut improperly and not removed properly. The pepper line consisted of pepper and herbs – ruining what little flavor the risotto had! We couldn't eat the risotto either, so we asked for the bill and left the restaurant without dessert. €165.00 without having really eaten and without knowing what we were actually being served! I must add that the service was very attentive, but almost irritating and annoying. There's nothing here that reminds you of Italian lightness, joie de vivre, and epicurean desires. It's an overpriced restaurant; after that, even a street pizzeria would be a pleasant and welcome change. For me, Vitello d'Oro is history – literally.

21/08/2025: An ancient name, a story of knowledge passed down and intertwined with new flavors, embraced by generations who have continued to cherish the passion of those who came before them. Rare.

06/09/2025: Always a great experience, the service is near perfect. The only downside for me was the desserts... too heavy to properly end the meal.

24/08/2025: I've known Nando's for years, and every time I return, it's a confirmation. Confirmation that the food is truly excellent. That the quality of the ingredients is undeniably top-notch. That the wine list and service are top-notch. That the quality/price ratio is extremely favorable (if you want to eat on a budget, avoid quality places). That in the area (and even beyond) it's difficult to eat better and have such a satisfying dining experience. Unfortunately—as I read in other reviews—this excellence of Friulian cuisine isn't always appreciated by its fellow citizens, and that's a shame because I've always found in this restaurant, besides excellent food, a constant desire to improve, with new and creative dishes offered each time, with truly top-notch results. I've been going there for years with satisfaction, and I'm sure I'll return with equal pleasure in the years to come. As a testament to its excellence, I've included a few photos taken during my numerous visits, ensuring that I've tasted and finished every dish without ever finding the slightest flaw!
