I had booked a table for 1pm.
We arrived slightly early as it was raining.
We didn't get off to a great start...when we entered they snubbed us a bit, but once we were seated, everything changed. It feels like we've gone back in time. Courteous staff, good food, not a cheap place.
We took 2 typical local soups, 1 bottle of water, a rather small glass of wine and 2 coffees.

We didn't eat here. It reminded me of the bar in Cézanne's famous painting. Fabulous atmosphere. Also houses a book shop.

Historic café in Trieste, beautiful!
It is a café-bookstore, there are tables both in the large room at the entrance and at the end of the café in the bookshop area, a quieter corner. I was there for breakfast, the croissants were delicious, soft and very filling, and the caffe latte (as they call cappuccino!).
I really liked it especially for the environment and the relaxation it exuded, so much so that I went back a second time, again for breakfast.

We had a coffee in this traditional place. We paid €6 for two coffees, but it was worth it for the atmosphere that surrounds you. Recommendable.

Dirty, unfriendly and expensive.
It's better to look in once and then go out to another coffee shop.

Abbiamo voluto provare questo storico caffè letterario per assaporate un po'di storia ed un caffè. Esperimento riuscito.Non metto il massimo dei voti perché non abbiamo provato altro e pertanto il giudizio è solo per l'atmosfera ed il buon caffè .

Da visitatore sono rimasto entusiasta del caffè, a cena un po' meno: sebbene il personale sia estremamente cortese e l'atmosfera straordinaria, non posso dire di aver mangiato bene. I miei tagliolini, in particolare, erano piccanti all'eccesso: peccato, perché nella frazione di secondo prima che quella nota estremamente pungente mi raggiungesse il palato avevo gustato un sapore eccezionale, poi del tutto coperto. Questo elemento, oltre tutto, non era indicato chiaramente nel menu. Al di là di questa personale disavventura, immagino episodica, mi sentirei comunque di consigliare quanto meno la visita.
