22/07/2026: Like the best trattorias, Trattoria del Moro Aronne is found off the beaten path, away from the establishments catering to tourists exclusively. It is worth the short walk up a side street; trust me on this. The trattoria specializes in Tuscan fare - recipes with wild boar, pigeon, and rabbit (though unfortunately rabbit was not available the day we stopped). My wife had Ombrichelli Porcini e Salsiccia - a hearty fresh pasta specific to Tuscany with mushrooms and sausage. I had the Tagliatelle con Cinghiale Ragu - tagliatelle with wild boar ragu. Both dishes exemplified the Italian culinary ethos of letting the ingredients shine - each a distinct entity that melds harmoniously into a symphony of flavor to create a whole that truly is more than the sum of its parts. So, for example, my wife’s mushroom dish was not distinctly mushroom flavored, but the mushrooms added their bit to the overall dish, which would have been lesser without them. The service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. Our waiter - who may well have been one of the owners given the level of service provided - was friendly and accommodating in my desire to practice some of my Italian. Trattoria del Moro Aronne carries on the tradition of the small, Italian gathering place where the breaking of bread around a convivial table is the focus. Grazie Mille!

We visited as a party of five in May 2026 and ordered a variety of dishes, focusing on the truffle and wild boar specialties. It was an extremely satisfying meal and easily one of the best restaurants we experienced during our trip to Italy. The truffle pasta was truly a masterpiece—not just the sauce, but the fresh handmade pasta itself was incredible. 08/07/2026: A historic, traditional trattoria on a small street in the center. Very comfortable atmosphere. The menu features a few typical dishes, virtually unchanged for years. Fast, friendly service. Prices are moderately high, but that's acceptable considering the location.

07/07/2026: Simply one of the best restaurants I've ever been to! The setting is beautiful and peaceful. The staff is very friendly. The food is clearly excellent; the truffle pasta is amazing, the pigeon is to die for, and the panna cotta is divine! Well done to the whole team, I recommend it 100%. Note: It's best to make a reservation or arrive as soon as they open to be sure of getting a table.

03/04/2026: I didn't stay overnight but only ate at the restaurant, and it is a place where you can have a truly wonderful meal for the price. The food itself is delicious, but they also offer a diverse selection of dishes unique to the Umbria and Amelia regions. However, the most charming aspect was the owner's kind and passionate explanations, which made this dining experience feel like a journey in itself (even though I was actually traveling, haha). There was a dish he recommended I try, saying it was a local Amelia menu item, but I can't remember the name. I didn't take a picture because I was too busy eating, haha. It was a small gnocchi... that was incredibly delicious, and the truffle pasta was, of course, tasty since it's Umbria... everything was great, haha.

27/05/2026: I can only say it's great. I went with some friends for a seafood aperitif. Top quality, impeccable presentation, perfect taste.

26/05/2026: Spectacular dinner! From the appetizers to the seafood butcher's shop to the mixed grill, we enjoyed carefully crafted and carefully prepared dishes. The catch was excellent, served impeccably with zero waste. A surprising journey of flavors. The setting is a refined setting with interesting details, all brought to harmony by the welcoming and attentive staff. We'll definitely be returning to try the chef's other creations.

13/01/2026: An average restaurant, but unfortunately, it didn't leave any particular impressions. The tagliata didn't live up to expectations; it's hard to even classify it. Basic service, pleasant atmosphere, two rooms, one more welcoming, the other less so... overall, the experience was rather unimpressive. It's a shame, because there are definitely better options in the Orvieto area.

07/01/2026: Great restaurant! The menu is consistent with the area and local traditions. The first courses were excellent, especially the tagliatelle. We really appreciated the quality of the pasta and its cooking. The service was fast and friendly. Reservations are recommended, as the place filled up quickly. Although the town is small and easy to navigate, the restaurant is conveniently located. A good choice considering the quality and price, even though ours was a quick and simple lunch.

04/07/2026: Family Dinner The location is enchanting, with a beautiful panoramic view that makes the evening even more special. The service is excellent: the staff is kind, attentive, and attentive to every need. Let's get to the food... everything was excellent! The tartare appetizer with caramelized onions was exceptional, a perfect balance. The fried fish was incredibly fresh and truly plentiful. The scampi gnocchi were delicate and flavorful, melting in the mouth. And the fish stew... excellent, with a sauce so flavorful we mopped it up! Highly recommended for a family dinner. We'll definitely be back!

27/06/2026: We had lunch at Ristorante Il Convento, and the experience was decidedly positive in every way. We started with the appetizers: the crostone with cherries, burrata, and basil was excellent, a fresh and well-balanced combination thanks to the aromatic note of the basil. The local prosciutto was also very good, served with a warm, light fried pizza topped with burrata. Afterwards, we tried both fish and meat. The meagre was fresh and perfectly cooked, accompanied by flavorful sautéed chicory. The highlight, however, was the meat: a Prussian steak selected from the beautiful dry-aged steak displayed in the dining room and cooked perfectly rare over the large wood-burning fireplace. It was a very tender cut, flavorful, and beautifully aged, which we paired with a local Umbrian red wine from a winery in Orvieto. We concluded the lunch with a well-made homemade zuppa inglese and a classic strawberry gelato. Both desserts were very good. Attentive and friendly service, a pleasant atmosphere, and excellent value for the quality of the ingredients. Highly recommended!

30/06/2026: A wedding that was nothing short of perfect. Proven professionalism, pampering the newlyweds and meticulous attention to detail. The warmth of the family, making you feel at home, was also evident. The cuisine certainly expresses Umbrian tradition, but also the love for the work that the Piermarini family has been doing for generations. Congratulations ❤️

19/07/2026: I absolutely had a blast in here. Amazing traditional Umbrian food, exceptional and authentic location and a very professional and courteous staff and owner. The owner offered us a glass of limoncello and played Pink Floyd on a 70s sound system which made the atmosphere an absolute gem. This is an exceptional place and would definitely come back. Really well done ♥️🙏

08/07/2026: Especially these days, it's very difficult to combine three generations in a provincial restaurant, but there are those who have succeeded! I've known the place (a trattoria, then a restaurant) since the 1990s. The only common thread is the quality and authenticity of the products on the menu. Once upon a time, a plate of pasta, macaroni, umbrichelle, puff pastry, strictly handmade, flour, eggs, water, a pinch of salt, as per Umbrian tradition. Today, a first course worthy of the name! A second course, a side dish, and so on, including wine, water, a tablecloth (certainly not made of TNT), and everything else needed to ensure the customer enjoys a pleasant moment in life in absolute harmony with the food, all while always pampered by a skilled and professional service aimed at maximizing the exaltation of the culinary art, an art which, not coincidentally, is expressed by a wise woman and a chef who graduated from the Orvieto hotel school with excellent grades.

07/07/2026: Does everything work here? Yes, it's all super! Futuristic cellar! Here you can find niche wines that don't comply with EEC standards, made by courageous winemakers who still dare to dream. This must be given credit to those who manage wine with dedication and passion (increasingly rare today). What about the dishes? Seasonal, high-quality raw materials. Simplicity of flavors served with absolute expertise and hints of creativity... what more could you want in a lunch/dinner? When you get up from the table and ask yourself if you enjoyed it? And you answer yes, you did.
