30/05/2026: I went to brunch with my boyfriend on a Sunday. They gave us a 2:20 PM slot, but the kitchen closes at 2:30 PM. We arrived, they checked our reservation, and we sat down. They have a nice menu, but I still wanted to make a request, and the conversation, as soon as the head waiter arrived, went like this: Me: Hi, can I make a request? She: Can I say no? With a huge smile, I said: I'd like to add scrambled eggs to these pancakes, if possible. She: Look, our pancakes are perfect like this. Me: Okay, then I'll get another dish. Thanks. I ordered a dish that sounded good in the description: pancakes, poached egg, crispy bacon, sausage, baked potatoes, and an American coffee. And nothing, they brought me a plate with a burnt egg, greasy and barely crispy bacon, undercooked and floury pancakes, and an American coffee that tasted like dirty water. I nibbled and, regretfully, left the rest on my plate. Maybe the kitchen was closing and they had to rush things? Who knows. The place is very nice, but they've forgotten about customer service... maybe because "they're perfect the way they are" ;)

06/04/2026: A lovely osteria, with a very nice, well-kept, and characteristic atmosphere. I'm not giving it top marks only because you wouldn't expect such high prices from a place that calls itself an osteria.

03/04/2026: Extremely unpleasant staff. We sat down and they made us sit far from the canal to give our seats to tourists. Crazy prices. I ordered a sweet focaccia and got a badly cut Colomba. I don't recommend this place at all. Venice is beautiful because it's tradition. This bar doesn't reflect the essence of Venice in the slightest.

06/04/2026: This place has the worst hospitality i ever encountered. Even dare to call it hostile. We were just about parking outside of the restaurant private parking (road side) and have one guy even not asking if we were going to eat there (which was actually our plan) immediately saying we could not park because it was “his property” and he owned everything. Not even one sign of private parking or property at sight. They think they own the entire pass road. Do not even give money to people like this. You have much better options couple meters above

31/05/2026: We celebrated our wedding at Casa dei Gelsi and we couldn't have made a better choice! Everything was taken care of down to the smallest detail, with impeccable service: the bride and groom were accompanied throughout, allowing them to fully enjoy the day. The food was exceptional, truly varied and plentiful, from the appetizer buffet to the dessert buffet. The entertainment was perfect, with no downtime but never intrusive. Monica and her staff were professional, meticulous, and very friendly—I'd say impeccable! A top-notch location!

29/05/2026: I have been frequenting this venue for a few years for various events, I can only confirm that there are no venues that can match the Gelsi house, both in terms of the quality of the dishes, which are also abundant, and the location and the entertainment, not to mention the impeccable organization, the staff is qualified, and always attentive to every little detail to satisfy their customers... five stars... 05/05/2026: I liked the dish of the day with almost 10 different types of cooked vegetables. Unfortunately, they don't have the ability to cook everything, but only reheat some dishes.

21/04/2026: After a few years, I returned. The good things I'd found in my previous restaurant were fully confirmed. Simple dishes but with excellent quality ingredients. Superb vegan pies and very good organic wine. Small place with an outdoor area in the back, sheltered by a new gazebo. Clean atmosphere, table service by a smiling and kind Sara. A few steps from the "silent" Sile River, so named by the ancient Romans for its still waters. Well done Michele and Pietro.
