14/01/2025: What makes a hotel special today? In my opinion, it is the people who work there and the philosophy behind it. It is also about paying attention to nature and respecting the environment, e.g. the traditions in the region. It is also about letting the guests participate in it by introducing them carefully, without the need for rules. That is an art these days. This is crowned by a lavishly laid table, without waste and excess, but with the special composition of the dishes and the selection of ingredients. You will find all of this at the Gasthof Kohlern. Authenticity among the people who work there. Respectful interaction, lightness and relaxedness as a natural coexistence - guest and host. Exciting stories, integrated into nature. You don't want to leave there and yet it may be precisely the leaving that makes you look forward to the specialness of coming back. And every year there is something new to discover, selected with great care and love. Thank you for being there, dear Gasthof Kohlern team.

13/01/2025: The hotel to relax and recharge your batteries. Josef and his crew are really special. The last time we were there was 10 years ago. Now it worked again and we booked a room including half board over the Christmas period (December 23rd - December 26th, 2024). I summarize the hotel services as follows: 1. Hotel The house has a 125-year-old history. Josef spared no expense or effort to modernize everything. A living room with an adjoining open fireplace (wonderful), a restaurant with a panoramic view of the mountains high above Bolzano, a top wellness department... The infinity pool and hot tub (open despite the cold and it was a show to be in there) A wine cellar, a seminar room (all very, very tastefully designed) 2. Massages A "must", the relaxing massage was a dream 3. Food & Service The absolutely highly professional kitchen surprised us every day with first-class dishes. We enjoyed every dish in the multi-stage episodes. The 4-6 courses were an explosion of enjoyment. It's really amazing what the kitchen does and the quality of the food that comes to the table. All, but absolutely all, of the service staff were professional, quick and absolutely friendly. Here I felt that the crew was behind Josef's concept. So it's really fun to be a guest 3rd room We had room number 6 on the 1st floor An ideal room for us with a balcony and the view over Bolzano was brilliant The cleaning was simply perfect... and we and our dog 🐶 "Oskar" felt really comfortable. Conclusion: The house was already great 10 years ago. Today Josef and his team have once again made a leap forward in terms of quality. I am personally pleased that there are still such first-class hotels with top-class cuisine and service. Celebrating Christmas with singing in the in-house chapel was something very special for us. We just say 'thank you' for this great time. This house made our Christmas 2024 perfect. We'll definitely be back💪

03/01/2025: We had lunch with friends, beautiful location, wonderful view, suitable place for families with children. Alpacas and llamas to see for the joy of the little ones. Lunch service for 10 excellent food, good wine list. Menu with characteristic dishes. We will definitely be back. Advised.

04/04/2025: Very nice rooms. Friendly staff. Good breakfast 👌👍.Quiet location and a beautiful view of the mountains. Really good hotel. We will go there again. 👍👍👍. You are also allowed to take dogs with you.

19/02/2025: As always, one of the greatest sauna experiences I've had so far! Very nice saunas, several outdoor areas and incredibly good infusions! I can only recommend it to everyone.

21/03/2025: Went there today and once again we were disappointed. We were there last year too and it was catastrophically bad. The ambience is convincing, the food is okay but the service is the last thing. Last year we waited 2 hours for food and were always served with unfriendly excuses. Unfortunately, the second chance today was not used. The entire service team did a good job of coming across as unprofessional as possible. The menus are laminated sheets, there weren't enough glasses and especially not in the sizes. 0.4 drinks were put into 0.3. Unfriendly, stupid and not insightful. Simply unprofessional. The food was okay. The ambience is also good. The store has much more potential than was made of it. The way up isn't worth it.

19/03/2025: A steep climb, but then wonderful views from the alpine pasture. Beautiful indoor area and lots of sunny spots outside. We didn't eat anything. But we got the drinks from a very friendly landlord.

07/03/2025: Very rustic Buschenschank with good food and a great atmosphere. The restaurant in an old cellar vault is a bit out of the way, but you should make a reservation because it is always busy.

28/10/2024: We had reserved for 12 people. In the end there were only 9. The owner gave us a table for 8. We ask for a larger table The answer was you can easily eat for nine people. Are you crazy? If there's room for your head, there's room for your butt too. We got up and left. We're still struggling. NEVER AGAIN.

06/04/2025: Friendly country inn that we visited to eat asparagus with friends from South Tyrol. Very friendly service. The asparagus starter with tuna is highly recommended and the classic main course is asparagus, buttered potatoes and boiled ham with horseradish. Of course, a Bolzano sauce couldn't be missing. Plus a good Sauvignon from the St Michael winery in Eppan.

02/11/2024: Very nice place between vines and apple trees. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Gladly again! Thanks for the apples.

16/09/2024: We were looking forward to it. But it was closed. (September 14th) Didn't look like it would be reopening anytime soon either.

15/08/2024: Super nice (old) Alm, with the best fried potatoes. Top service 👍. The Alm is located in a beautiful valley, surrounded by high mountains just before the ice farms. A steady climb of 300 m in a sunny location is a little more demanding but doable.

20/02/2025: Excellent option in Badia, very abundant and well served typical dishes. The staff is very friendly and the prices are consistent with the entire service. Highly recommended!

08/02/2025: Very atmospheric place, great decor. Very friendly service, of course during rush hours you have to wait a while, but it is additional time to enjoy the place. Tasty food, large portions. Highly recommended.
