19/01/2026: I was disappointed. Three pastries and a tiny tray of shortcrust pastry... almost 17 euros. I was served after a few people without the clerk asking who was there first... I was right there in front... oh well... The person serving me seemed even more annoyed after paying. I took the receipt and was asked if I had paid. Honestly, I found the service cold, and secondly, I was disappointed by the taste of the pastries. Value for money, not much else.

26/03/2026: Want to discover the authentic and delicious flavors and aromas of the South? Come to this bakery and you'll feel like you've been teleported to a traditional Southern Italian kitchen, where the bread truly tastes like bread and you can eat it plain because it's simply delicious. Ingredients like buffalo mozzarella in every size, and I mean every size, make every dish simply delicious. The same goes for the smoked provola, the vine-ripened cherry tomatoes, and the broccoli rabe with sausage—all truly original and delicious ingredients that make every dish extraordinary, like their parmigiana, their potato gateau, the legendary casatiello, the Campanian panino, the fried and baked pizza, and so much more. This little bakery not only envelops you with its aromas and flavors, but also welcomes you with their smiles and warmth. Often, when I'm in a rush, stressed by the hustle and bustle of this hectic city, between daycares and work, I enter this bakery and everything takes on a different rhythm. I feel right at home, where the helpfulness, generosity, and joy so typical of the wonderful people of southern Italy are always expressed with discretion and kindness—in short, a little bakery with a big heart! For all this, we've had a sincere affection for them for years, and so I truly and wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. It's a privilege to have the great Gennaro nearby, along with his wife and his staff, because they do an exceptional job every day. These days, you'll also see lines of people outside buying their legendary Neapolitan pastiera. I'm not usually a fan of Neapolitan desserts; I often find them too floury and cloying, yet I assure you this pastiera is as delicious as the one my mother makes. For these reasons, I give it 5 stars and also praise the love that shines through in their work, which is never a given, especially in a touristy city like Florence, where these qualities often get lost in the rush of fast-food. My husband, my son, and even our little girl, who is two years old and already loves it, love Gennaro and company. Thanks to these flavors and this beautiful setting, I feel a little less homesick. Thank you, Gennaro, for existing in Florence!

25/04/2025: Pessimo!! Il cibo era scadente. Male anche l’impatto con i camerieri. Il ragazzo che mi ha servito è stato scortese e al quanto scocciato perché siamo arrivati senza prenotazione! Non consiglio per niente. Tra l’altro girano voci che si tenga il personale a nero. Sono senza parole

Per fortuna avevamo gli avanzi delle merende delle bimbe.... finalmente dopo un'ora e mezzo sono arrivati parte degli antipasti.... avevano perso la comanda della tartare... dobbiamo aspettare anche le pizze... fateci gli auguri!

04/08/2025: The place is beautiful. But the ramen isn't up to par. My ramen was incredibly salty, while my brother's was tasteless. I had to order some of his soup to counteract the saltiness of mine. The service was average. The prices were too high for the quality.

Ci siamo presentati (nel centro di Firenze, quindi non facile da raggiungere e soprattutto trovare parcheggio) e il ristorante era chiuso per ferie.
Questa chiusura, da giugno ad agosto compreso, non viene indicata né sul sito né sui social del ristorante.
Pessima comunicazione

02/11/2025: I would say it was a rather negative experience!!!! The order arrived an hour after the requested time, justified by the fact that it was placed on an app and therefore not precise... to make matters worse, the pizzas ordered were 5 and only 4 arrived!!! And finally, I would like to add, if not the worst, the rudeness and lack of professionalism of the girl who answered the phone when I called to ask for an explanation!!! I would like to tell her that if she doesn't want to do this job, she should change it!!!!!! Too bad because I also think the pizzas are good!!!! Patience!!!
01/11/2025: While we were eating the pita bread, we found a white worm inside. Probably in the salad. Disgusting.

Update: We were there on December 23rd for lunch before continuing on to Civitavecchia to catch the ferry to Sardinia. We took photos with your tablet, which you use to order dishes. There aren't all the dishes you're talking about.
13/12/2025: Careful selection of ingredients and a passion for quality sushi. Definitely one of the best all-you-can-eat restaurants I've ever eaten. I come here often and it's always a delightful experience.
Umai is a true gem for lovers of Japanese cuisine. From the first moment, you can sense the attention to detail: the atmosphere is welcoming and elegant, perfect for both a romantic dinner and an evening with friends. The food is simply excellent: incredibly fresh sushi, balanced flavors, and meticulous presentation make each dish a masterpiece. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always available to recommend the house specialties. The value is excellent, and the overall experience truly leaves you wanting to return. Highly recommended for those seeking authentic, quality Japanese cuisine.

02/02/2026: Unfriendly staff, €22.40 for a 6cm diameter sandwich, a bottle of water, a coffee, and a piece of fried cod with potatoes. The best (or rather, scandalous) part is that a 6cm sandwich, weighing approximately 20-30 grams, costs €1.40!!! (about €40 per kilo).

30/07/2025: My favorite pasta was no longer available. Be careful, they have a break until 5:30 PM. It was closed. There are far fewer items for sale than before COVID. It's not worth going there anymore.

The cappuccino and espresso were both delicious.
(In fact, even vending machine coffee is delicious in Italy.)
The tiramisu was also delicious.
The atmosphere was great,
and the staff were incredibly friendly.
It was a pleasant place.
08/12/2025: I'd like to start with the best thing about Rome, which is the restrooms in the different establishments. Well, this one has one for everyone, dirtier than the one in the movie Trainsport, the service was provided by a woman who couldn't keep up, the food was mediocre and frozen, the salad was the best thing we ate.

21/03/2026: Only 2 stars for the service and management of our table, which bordered on terrible.
I'm very sorry to have to give this review, especially since the food is good and delicious, and the atmosphere is pleasant.
Inadequate service. The table was for 12-13 adults, with about ten children. We arrived at 7:15 PM, the children began dinner around 8 PM, after being asked to hurry (everything was already arranged, they just had to prepare ahead of time), and the adults began to be served at a good 8:30 PM.
Everything was served quickly, probably because they realized they were running out of time.
A shame, really!
The price was inadequate...for the quality of the food, that might be acceptable, but for the way the evening was managed, I'd say definitely not.
23/02/2026: Shameful, I'm speechless. I was invited to a birthday party, pregnant and lactose intolerant. The birthday girl had already warned me in advance that I absolutely cannot eat raw foods, as evidenced by the messages. My appetizer plate arrives with the usual salad leaf as a garnish, useless and that no one eats. I had it removed because it was raw. The plate comes back in half a second, thus risking contamination, and, in addition to cooked cold cuts and coccoli, there's a "pumpkin" crostini. I taste it and can't quite understand the flavor until I realize it's RAW PORK SAUSAGE. Besides, I don't think it's standard practice to serve raw sausage in restaurants, but I wonder what the heck it takes to add up: pregnant, no raw foods. Is it that difficult? Risk of toxoplasmosis, salmonella, and listeria. I don't make excuses when something goes wrong with my health, and it makes no sense to hear "we always make cooked sausage crostini" if you then serve them to me raw. I'm astounded by such incompetence and ignorance. Open a pub if you can't run a restaurant. Let's draw a veil over the rest of the dinner, which, being lactose-free, included a €26 plate of penne with tomato sauce.

18/10/2025: The worst experience of my life in a restaurant. We were a group of twenty, and after over an hour, some had finished eating and others still hadn't received anything. I complained to the pizza chef (who I later learned was also the owner of the restaurant) and he replied that he had done everything as ordered, going so far as to verbally and then physically threaten my cousin who had approached to help me. The pizza chef/owner was dragged away by the waiters and no one replaced him at the oven, leaving part of the group without dinner. They even had the nerve to charge us full price (a €10 discount!!) in cash because the register was closed, and absolutely without issuing a receipt. An absolute disgrace. The children in the group were terrified to see us attacked like this by someone and talked about the incident for weeks. We were unsure whether to call the police. Definitely avoid this place!!
21/09/2025: We've always been customers, but this year, with the change of management, we had a terrible experience at the restaurant. We ordered three pizzas and one first course; the spaghetti and one pizza arrived immediately, but the rest took over an hour, simply because we repeatedly asked the pizza chef and waiter. One pizza would come out at random, and they'd bring it to tables that arrived after us. Extremely disorganized, we won't be returning.

10/04/2026: If you only pay for the main course and not the full menu, I find it a joke to receive four measly pieces of fish. I leave there feeling just as hungry as before. Unacceptable.
07/04/2026: It used to be one of the worst in Florence... but this year it seems much better. The first and second courses are good, except when they do fish, which isn't always good. The meat is generally good and tender. They often do one-pot meals, meaning you get just that with one meal, and they often give you a burger (very standard), fries, and sauces... personally, that's not enough for me. In fact, a huge shame is that the plates are so small. They don't give you much food, and if you ask for more, they even complain... something that doesn't happen in other cafeterias. Every now and then they also have real desserts, not the usual yogurt they dare call "sweet," because it's basically yogurt you buy at Conad or who knows where. There's always room for seating; even when it's full, there's always an empty seat. I avoid takeout, but it's not bad, come on.
