21/06/2025: Scardaci is a historic name in Catania and the ice cafè in via etnea is a point of reference. The place combines an ice cream shop and a small café together and has outdoor tables. The granita is excellent, also available in special flavors such as prickly pear, the brioche is excellent, and the ice creams are fabulous. The small pastry shop and the hot food shop are also excellent, the café is very good and despite its small size offers a good selection of hot and cold drinks. The staff is friendly but unfortunately not very present at the tables, especially those on via Etnea. There is also a display case with small items for sale (mainly cups and mugs).

22/06/2025: Always crowded bar, you have to know the right times to enjoy breakfast without too many people! I find the quality of the chocolate, almond and coffee granita to be good (while I do not recommend the peach one - it tasted of nothing, perhaps because it was still too early - and the pistachio one). I also recommend the ice cream and the pizzas. The brioches are mediocre, but the lack of essences (excuse the pun) makes them easier to digest.

13/06/2025: I was in this bar a few days ago to get ice cream, excellent ice cream. The only flaw was the waiting time to take the order, from the moment we sat down we waited half an hour to take the order, the guy who was supposed to take the order was tall, thin, shaved hair, I called him several times to take the order but we were literally avoided by this waiter. In the end I asked another waiter that we still had to order and he was very kind and called the colleague interested in that area to take the order, after we took the order he literally brought us the ice creams leaving them to us with great arrogance. I'm sorry that this bar has this waiter because I have to be very honest from breakfast, ice creams, granitas, hot food and aperitif everything was very good, even the rest of the staff were very kind apart from the waiter I mentioned

20/06/2025: Great Location, But Poorly Maintained and Misleading "Breakfast" This chalet has a lot of potential, it’s in a peaceful, scenic spot on the slopes of Etna, and the setting is truly lovely. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the location. The place felt rundown. Only one of the four kitchen burners worked, which made cooking frustrating. The shower setup was inconvenient, and even flushing the toilet was a hassle. On top of that, a group of 7 or 8 cats constantly hovered around our door, meowing for food — not exactly relaxing. One of the most disappointing aspects was the so-called "breakfast" that was included in the booking. It consisted of packaged dried toasts, a tiny packaged croissant, and a few apples, none of which we ended up eating. It felt like an afterthought rather than something meant to welcome guests. If we had known the breakfast was going to be this poor, we would have brought our own food. With proper maintenance and more honest communication, this place could be a gem. But in its current state, it just doesn't deliver.

17/06/2025: Mine is not a review to evaluate the food or the restaurant, but a way to prevent such situations from happening again. I gave everything one star, because it wasn't open so I couldn't evaluate the evening. Last night, Monday 16 June 2025, together with friends, we decided to go to dinner at this place, which I know very well, before organizing I took a look at the website and it said open, but on the other hand I usually always went there on Mondays. We left and arrived in Licodia at 9:30 pm. Desolation and embarrassment. With all my friends, the place was closed. I strongly recommend updating your website, mainly because of the closures.

04/07/2025: We ate very delicious food at a very good price. Burgers are 4-7€ and plentiful. The service is nice and fast. Only use the bathroom if you really need it, otherwise it's rather forgettable.

10/06/2025: Hello, yesterday I consumed, in this bar on Via Etnea, a pistachio and toasted almond granita. Nothing to complain about the quality of the product, I found both flavors to be excellent, I would instead like to point out some things that, if improved, could change the general evaluation. The granita, which was served to me at the table, was slightly melted as well as in a rather small quantity. Considering the total cost, I think the quantity of granita inside the cup could be increased and it could be served a little more compact. Along with the granitas, however, I was able to enjoy excellent brioches and an excellent coffee.

05/06/2025: 😋PISTACHIO GRANITA TOP!!!😋 I tried the pistachio granita with brioche col tuppo (€4.50 all) and I have to say that both the quality of the pistachio and the quality of the brioche dough are really excellent. Among other things, the granita also contained some small pieces of pistachio, which flavored the palate with every spoonful. Worth repeating🤤 The bar has seating both outside, on the ground floor, and on the second floor indoors. Personally, I found the room on the second floor very peaceful and quiet, great for reading (also because it tends to be empty). I like it! I didn't expect to find such a good and quiet pistachio so easily, well done!!

09/07/2025: I'm upgrading my rating by one star because last time I tried excellent dishes, different from what's advertised and, in my opinion, much superior. This is the third time I've ordered the picanha swordfish, and the quality of the meat is always excellent. The truffle ingot is spectacular, and the fried tortellini with cheese and pepper fondue are super light and delicious. Approved! Go and rate it.
