There are names that call to you before you even enter. "Papé" is one of them. Perhaps because, for those like me who hold the Matera dialect in their hearts, that word has a homely sound: it recalls the affectionate way of saying "Dad," with that ancient sweetness that belongs to our roots. In fact, the name recalls the Devil from the Divine Comedy. Driven by this assonance, I entered almost instinctively. And I discovered a place where the name isn't just a call, but a promise kept. The pizzas—from the most classic to the richest and most contemporary—tell a cuisine that doesn't seek special effects, but balance, quality, and respect for the ingredients. From the essential and fragrant Margherita to the more generous variations with arugula, bresaola, mushrooms, or delicate creams, every dish seems designed to welcome you, not to impress you. Even the non-pizza dishes, like the rich and carefully prepared salads, confirm the same philosophy: simplicity done well, without ever sacrificing beauty. The place is warm and well-kept, with a rustic touch that's not meant to shock but to put you at ease. And here comes the most important part: the welcome. A sincere thank you to the owner, who with class, courtesy, and a natural elegance made us feel not like customers, but guests. It's rare to find a place where the service is not only professional, but deeply human. At Papé, you sit down and feel like you've returned to a place you've always known.

We booked through The Fork with a 50% discount and had no problems whatsoever. The service was fast and friendly. The skinny guy with a beard, long hair, and a cap was very kind, helpful, and friendly! A plus for him. As for the food, there was nothing to complain about here either. We had a Santa Eva sandwich that was huge, practically reaching from the table to our faces—amazing!! We'll definitely be back!

We went to Papé for Valentine's Day and were so happy. Delicious pizza, friendly staff, and lightning-fast service (a rarity on February 14th) 😊

I had my graduation celebration with my friends in Pape and it was really nice. The staff are very friendly and east to request, as well that reservation with Marcella was fantastic! She gave many suggestions that are helpful. Our night has been good and we have good amount of chats. My friends were satisfied and I had a memorable night too. I definitely reccomend them.

New young location with good and excellent quality of food, especially for the Neapolitan style pizza, to be clear, applause to the staff in particular to Federico who was our guide, to be repeated

Excellent appetizer, very light pizza dough, tastefully decorated restaurant in the center, ideal for a dinner with friends.
