We highly recommend the delicious bruschetta, the fried mix, the pasta with pistachio, the second course with a trio of fish and the desserts, each better than the other. We opted for tiramisu, cheesecake and sorbet. All very good. We truly appreciated the surprise on the cake with the candle and the number 8, corresponding to our eighth wedding anniversary. A really positive note was the tasteful background music, set at a balanced volume which allowed you to relax but at the same time be able to talk. Two constructive criticisms concern... 1^ the pasta with pistachio: a smaller quantity of pesto would have been perfect. 2nd concerns the second course, I would have expected at least two prawns and not just one since it is written in the plural on the menu. I would have liked to give 4 and a half stars but since it's not possible, I go overboard and give 5 well-deserved stars. Because truly, excellent value for money, all the staff are kinder than the others, possibility of a 20% discount thanks to a online application. Happy to have spent our eighth anniversary with you, we will certainly return with pleasure. A special thank you goes to the Lady, whose name we don't know but who, "is the business card of the place."

11/12/2023: We asked if we could have the aperitif, they said yes, and then they didn't offer it. We ordered an antipasti and a pasta each. And the quality-price ratio does not correspond. The food was very passable, and at least for what we paid we ate much better in other places. Beyond the fact that we were tourists, they teased us and said something that wasn't true so we could sit down.

Excellent for all occasions, always a wide choice at the counter, from lunch always cooked with skill (even at 4pm!) to the aperitif, from external catering (I have commissioned many, and we have always been happy, the delicious snack bar, the mignon among the best ever tasted, not to mention the ice creams and granitas. the impeccable service, the friendliness of the owners (family run) and the employees. At the Sgroi bar it feels like being at home, and at home you always eat very well.

04/04/2024: They recommended this ice cream shop to me for an excellent granita. I may not be a great expert but for me it was of terrible quality and consistency. If I return to Catania it will definitely not be a place to go.

30/03/2024: Maleducazione e disorganizzazione che non hanno eguali. Arriviamo, facciamo circa 20minuti di fila perché le commesse sono un po’ lente ma vabbe ci sta…arriva finalmente il nostro turno ed arriva il classico catanese medio “ devo solo vedere se il mio ordine è pronto” e ovviamente ci supera senza fare la fila…dopo aver servito il “signore” prima di noi, la ragazza dietro al bancone si congeda nuovamente con “arrivo subito” e dopo altri 5/6minuti di attesa esce con un vassoio e fiera ad alta voce dice “signora Maria ecco il suo ordine, lo incarto e glielo do”…facendo quindi passare davanti un’altra persona. Dopo questa ce ne siamo andati. Purtroppo quando si è “pieni pieni” si perde di vista l’attenzione al cliente, mi dispiace, ricordo cosa e chi eravate prima che aveste così tanto clamore ma oramai siete solo maleducati ed arroganti perché purtroppo non è la prima volta che succede. Di certo non vi mancano, ma avete perso circa 300/350€ di ordinazioni di colombe pasquali. Mai più da voi!!! Tornate sulla terra e scendete da questa nuvola di pistacchio in cielo.

23/03/2024: Ho contattato Antony tramite tel, si trovava fuori Italia ma nonostante tutto molto disponibile Ho fatto ordine, colombe cari formati e gusti. Dopo 3 giorni e’ arrivato pacco con all’interno crostata e cannoli ( non quelli usuali ma quelli fatti con ingredienti da poter sopportare il viaggio) Inoltre 2 vasetti di creme al pistacchio Un anticipo di quelli che dovrà arrivare Inutile dire la bontà. Tutto buono, buono, buono, buono, Aspetto con ansia, adesso, le colombe e uova di cioccolato Dimenticavo, dei i panettoni di Natale ne vogliamo parlare. Punteggio tutto meritato
