Fratelli Rosso dal 1981

Baveno
22/07/2026: An excellent restaurant. The quality and originality of the (traditional) dishes, and the (multilingual) service are all noteworthy. Reservations are recommended.
17/07/2026: Without a doubt, the best restaurant in Baveno! We stumbled upon this magnificent establishment tucked away on a small street in the town. We were able to reserve a table for the following day. So be sure to book ahead, as the dining room is small! The welcome: warm, friendly, and attentive! The servers speak a little French, which makes communication easy! The menu: short, a sign of quality. We chose the pasta (with feta, zucchini, and homemade pesto sauce), a true delight. All the ingredients are refined; you can taste the homemade quality. Then, we enjoyed the beef fillet with dauphinoise potatoes, cooked to perfection. The desserts are also typical and indulgent: tarte tatin and bonet (a local Piedmontese specialty). The complimentary limoncello is a perfect way to end the meal! In short, we highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!

L'inedito Vigin Mudest

Alba
05/05/2026: A quick lunch stop in Alba. Welcoming atmosphere, refined ambiance, and impeccable service. I tried the seasonal dish of gratinated asparagus with poached egg, béarnaise sauce, and white truffle—really interesting! Paired with a Nebbiolo from the Langhe (I would have recommended a sparkling wine, but unfortunately it wasn't available by the glass). Reasonably priced. Recommended, I'd definitely go back!
05/05/2026: Excellent experience, we had lunch for two for €107 in total. The bill included: 2 veal with tuna sauce 1 tajarin with ragù 1 caramelized braised beef 2 desserts 1 water 1 wine (€28) 1 coffee 2 covers The wait staff was prompt, friendly, and always available. The sommelier assisted us with our wine selection, which turned out to be absolutely spot-on. The cover charge included excellent quality breadsticks and artisanal focaccia. We are completely satisfied with the service provided and believe the cost of the lunch is reasonable. Highly recommended.

Torino
11/07/2026: Fantastico!! We arrived late to the area and looking for a place to eat. They were gracious to accept us and got to enjoy some delicious pizza. Grazie mille!!
28/06/2026: It was a lovely experience, all the dishes were excellent. The service was rushed, and in my opinion undervalued (different waiters taking turns clearing away dishes, sometimes too quickly, and little involvement in the description of the dishes). The atmosphere was elegant, but at times noisy. Overall, an experience worth trying.

Cucina Rambaldi

Villar dora
28/06/2026: Cucina Rambaldi manages to combine high-end cuisine with a warm welcome that makes you feel instantly at home. The welcome is one of the restaurant's strengths: warm, genuine, and perfectly in tune with a cuisine that puts the guest's pleasure first. We started with the anchovies in saor, truly exquisitely executed: the sweet and sour sauce is precisely balanced, leaving the anchovy flavor unmistakably present. The panelle, dry, light, and fragrant, with a pleasant hint of lemon, round out the dish without weighing it down. The scampi and tomato hosomaki alla puttanesca is one of those dishes that lingers in the memory. We were advised to squeeze the scampi heads directly onto the hosomaki: a simple gesture that adds even more intensity to the dish. Among the appetizers, the bone marrow with scallop, wasabi, and perilla was one of the dishes that most impressed me. The richness of the marrow, the delicacy of the scallop, the punch of the wasabi, and the freshness of the perilla find a truly delightful harmony. The risotto with oysters, peaches, and blue butter deserves a special mention. Before the dish came out, they came to the table to introduce us to the blue butter they make themselves: it almost resembles a blue cheese, but on the palate it retains all the delicacy of butter. In the risotto, it perfectly combines the savory oyster and the sweetness of the peach. The venison was cooked precisely, juicy, and respectful of the ingredients, accompanied by a wild panzanella with just the right amount of acidity. The Maghreb sole is an extremely balanced dish. The lassi accompanies the dish surprisingly naturally, while the pita bread perfectly completes the experience. As for cheeses, the selection is excellent, enhanced by the Bruss prepared by Signora Marilena. For dessert, we chose the "Per Cristina" chocolate, elegant and perfectly balanced between dark chocolate and Barolo reduction. Also worth trying is the coffee panna cotta: incredibly smooth, with the flavor of the milk always at the forefront, and the coffee accompanying it without overpowering it. At the end of the dinner, we had the pleasure of chatting with Chef Giuseppe Rambaldi. He explained his culinary philosophy with great simplicity and humility, and listening to him, you understand how much this philosophy resonates in his dishes. Even the restaurant and each dish are meticulously crafted: taste and aesthetics go hand in hand, enhancing each other. It may seem like a simple concept, but it's probably the most difficult challenge to overcome. A challenge that, in this case, is succeeding perfectly. Cucina Rambaldi demonstrates that innovation doesn't come from excess, but from the ability to excite through balance, respect for the raw materials, and a very clear identity. Congratulations to Chef Giuseppe Rambaldi, his team, and the entire staff. I will definitely be back. Ciuffo
14/06/2026: I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Rambaldi during an event at the Legends Arena in Susa. He'd told us about the menu, and it already sounded very inviting. Made in a temporary kitchen, to boot, it's simply fabulous! His egg appetizer is heavenly, but the risotto Rossini is a fabulous dish—I've never had anything so good! Then the meat is equally exquisite, and for dessert, nougat with ice cream. Aside from the Chef's charm, his food is exquisite. I'll definitely be visiting him at his restaurant in Villardora! Thanks, Beppe!!

Pizzeria Ristorante Il Cavallino

Vernante
05/08/2026: We happened upon this beautiful village (Vernante, Cuneo) by chance (on August 4, 2026), intrigued by the fact that it's dedicated to Pinocchio! We had lunch at Ristorante Il Cavallino. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a smile and genuine, spontaneous kindness. We ate wonderfully, and also sampled some delicious local cheeses. Finally, the bill: it had been a decade or two since we'd eaten at such a good value. I highly recommend it; if you're in the Vernante area and need to eat, go to Ristorante Il Cavallino.
30/07/2026: A restaurant in the historic center of Vernante. Excellent pizza, thin and with a truly delicious dough, the kind that doesn't go rubbery after a few minutes. The specialty pizzas with local ingredients are delicious. Fast service. Recommended!

Cà Dij Mat

Torino
09/04/2026: Easter Monday lunch with a truly excellent set menu. My wife doesn't like the lungua in salsa verde, and the very kind owner promptly offered to change part of the appetizer. The agnolotti were delicious, and the fried lamb was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.
07/04/2026: It's not just a simple restaurant, but a true experience of Piedmontese flavors, aromas, and atmosphere. The place is small but very welcoming, and the young, dynamic, and knowledgeable staff is classy. It deserves at least 1... 2... 5... 10 visits.

19/07/2026: A bucolic place where atmosphere, food, and attention to detail blend together. One of the most beautiful places in the Biella area. Alice has an extreme attention to detail; the menu often changes seasonally; menus featuring dried flowers, the blooms are always top notch.

Antico Monastero

Lu
16/07/2026: Lunch for four, Sunday, June 21, 2026. Two of us had already been there (well), a few years ago, and now four of us are back. We opted for the à la carte menu, accompanied by a bottle of wine chosen from the extensive wine list. After a complimentary Russian salad, we started with an excellent veal with tuna sauce, a delicious Monferrina, and an excellent zucchini flan with pecorino fondue. Followed by two Monastero agnolotti, a classic Rabaton, and a squid ink ravioli with shrimp. Then a grilled sliced steak. For dessert, three delicious Lu IGP hazelnut cakes with vanilla ice cream and a fantastic tiramisu with a liquid heart covered in dark chocolate. The place is welcoming and beautiful, the noise level was normal even though all the seats were occupied. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and even quick to serve. We will definitely be back.
15/07/2026: What can I say...a truly positive experience. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, a charming location, especially the terrace, and delicious food. We chose the tasting menu. Excellent value!

14/06/2026: I've been there several times. The crepes are delicious and plentiful. The four-cheese one is my favorite. They're also friendly, and despite it being a busy place, they've always provided excellent service. They're also open late. I highly recommend it!
10/06/2026: the place smells too much of sweat, no air inside, not a hygienic place… food was not bad but very small portions for the price tag. owner of the bar Francesco, really grumpy with attitude. cocktails are not mixed well, do not suggest at all, low quality. we were 5 people outside and they ask us to not talk so loudly in the street…

Cantinone S. Paolo

Torino
14/07/2026: Excellent and a great place to enjoy a dinner tasting typical local dishes. Highly recommended.
08/07/2026: Old-fashioned Piola, traditional Piedmontese cuisine. Excellent appetizers include anchovies in green sauce, rabbit tuna, and a trio of raw meats. The trio of marinated anchovies is superb as a main course. The house wine pairs perfectly. The tiramisu is also excellent. Friendly and helpful staff. Prices are commensurate with the quality of the dishes, but not excessive. Reservations are recommended on weekends and for dinner. It's best to walk or park on Corso Ferrucci.

Barabba

Casale corte cerro
26/07/2026: Just 10 minutes from Omegna, there's a truly unique restaurant on the road that's definitely worth a stop. Run by a charming couple, the owner, who is also the chef, is a bit eccentric—but in a good way! They offered us a meat or fish appetizer, and the same goes for the main course. I must say that the dishes, besides being invitingly presented, were truly delicious. We enjoyed a truly excellent meal. The only small drawback is that the chef suggests the dishes, but you don't immediately know how much they'll cost. You only find out at the end, at the cash register. We had an appetizer, a main course, water, and coffee, and spent 25 euros each. Considering the quality of the food, I'd say it's definitely worth a stop. Oh, and one more thing: it's only 2 km from the Alessi outlet, so it's a great opportunity to stop by there too!
03/06/2026: Excellent restaurant with refined dishes. Compliments to the Chef.
