10/06/2026: I stopped for a quick sandwich at this bar. I'd noticed this roast beef sandwich on the menu. To say it was excellent is an understatement. It was a true explosion of flavor, with the mustard, the roast beef—excellently sliced, to boot—the shaved parmesan, and the freshness of the tomato and lettuce. A truly excellent sandwich for a nice lunch break with three very friendly owners. The price was reasonable for Milan. A recommended place, worth a try, and I even finished lunch with a good coffee. Thanks, guys!

10/06/2026: This business is run with true passion by brothers Maurizio, Gianni, and Roberto. I've been a customer for many years, and the food is excellent, and their approach to customers is friendly, fun, and professional. Highly recommended!

01/05/2026: The staff was uninterested and rude. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go. There were 13 of us, and they treated everyone badly. We asked for fries, and they were annoyed and gave me a plate with half-eaten staff leftovers. The staff is probably underpaid, or they've put people at the counter who were in need. It's better to keep a place closed than to offer such a poor service.

01/05/2026: Aperitif at 1 pm (I asked beforehand if it was possible at that time). The people working the tables don't know what they're offering, they don't know at the cash register, it's unclear to anyone... Today, there's little courtesy (it's May 1st, they're right). Very, very limited menu choices.

15/02/2026: Some friends and I wanted to spend Valentine's Day dinner out. We had reservations at this restaurant, and when we arrived, the owner wouldn't let us in and told us he had to check our reservation. Something already seemed off, but then he pointed us to a restaurant further away, saying he'd moved us there. We'd booked one place and ended up eating at another... no way. The important thing isn't the conviviality and the desire to spend an evening with friends, but this is unacceptable behavior. They must have left our table to a couple!

09/02/2026: Water bottle was glass and unwashed food had no flavor. Large quantity though.

06/04/2026: The food was decent. The presentation and service were a bit lacking, and we had to call the waitress over. Overall, we had a very good dinner.

09/06/2026: We only stopped for drinks (no food), so this is mainly about the service and overall experience. prices are definitely on the expensive side, which you kind of accept because the location is amazing, right in piazza duomo. drinks were ok, nothing to complain about there. but for a place charging those prices in a premium spot, it didn’t feel very professional at the “higher level”. i’m not talking about the person who brought the drinks to the table, no issues with that. it’s more the overall organisation and how you’re handled: you expect it to be properly staffed, calmer, and for basic things to be obvious (like where smoking is allowed, where to sit, how it all works) instead of feeling a bit messy. if you’re going to charge location prices, the service and setup should match. I have been to places similar to this and staff have been more pro, probably because they are not understaffed or anything.

Somewhat secluded from all the hustle and bustle of the downtown metropolis Milano, about 10 minutes on the M3 from the Duomo and easy to reach, the Bar Porto di Mare is an absolutely authentic insider tip that goes against the mainstream. Monday morning. The first regular guests are already standing at the door and waiting to be admitted. At 7 a.m. sharp, Paolo opens his bar Porto di Mare on Via Giovanni Battista Cassinis 13, 20139 Milano. He's been in his bar since 6 a.m. baking fresh croissants. Paolo swings over to the espresso machine and conjures up 4 Caffe Doblo and 2 Caffe Macchiato for his guests in no time while his long-time employee sets up the tables and chairs in the small, covered guest garden on the street. The smell of fresh coffee flows through his small restaurant and transforms even a gray, rainy autumn day into a good-humored start to the day. At lunchtime there is a small selection of hearty, homemade, traditional Italian dishes to suit every palate. You can feel the passion with which Paolo, his wife and his employees have been running the family business with dedication for 15 years (1992). Hospitality is the top priority here. In addition to drinks and food, the bar is also a Bar Tabacchi where you can buy tobacco products, stamps, recharge cards, sweets and chocolate. Even if there is nothing else to do (it is on the way to San Donato, terminus of the M3, a small bazaar), it is always worth a little detour for a fresh croissant with coffee in the morning before starting your tour through the hectic, crowded downtown, or for a traditional, inexpensive lunch in peace. The Bar Porto di Mare adds a positive, authentic touch to the visit to Milan. An absolute must for those who want to experience true Italian authenticity and hospitability. Highly recommended!

17/04/2026: Four of us dined here to celebrate my daughter's birthday, as she'd been there before. The place was small, simple, but charming. The ladies serving us were very kind, and the food was truly delicious and plentiful. It was a shame that many dishes—including the Mafe—were already sold out by 9:00 PM, and the wait was truly exorbitant. We were seated at 9:00 PM, and the main courses arrived well after 10:30 PM.

07/05/2026: Our favourite restaurant in Milan. Despite the 'outdoor' area being constantly busy, they always find a good table for you. The staff are extremely professional but still warm and friendly. Our waiter Louis (unsure of spelling) was fantastic - warm, funny, professional, and attentive. Always looking over to his tables in case customers want his attention. Exactly what you want from a waiter. The food was absolutely phenomenal, both mains and desserts were 10/10 every time. Without much wait considering it is in the centre of the shopping district. Free bread with homemade spicy sauce. A cover charge is added and entirely justified. I just wish we found an ATM during our trip so we could tip more. We returned to this restaurant during our trip, and will continue to recommend and hopefully come back one day.

07/05/2026: I dined alone and i asked if there is decaf coffee, answer is no(actually there is decaf). I didn’t want to order bottled sparkling water because I couldn’t have full bottle by myself. However, the waiter kept asking me repeatedly if i order water, like 7times in total, and gave me really judgmental and unpleasant looks. His attitude made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome as a solo guest. It is unacceptable for restaurant staff to pressure customers into extra orders and show obvious disapproval just because someone chooses not to buy wine or drink.

02/05/2026: We stopped at Martesana during a group tour of Milan. Our tour director said it would be okay if we used the restroom. There were about 10 of us, and we were all prepared to buy some pastries and coffee after we used the bathroom. While we were waiting in line the owner literally accosted us and told us we were rude for not asking him if we could use the restroom. He folded his arms and jeered at us, and told us how disrespectful we were. Honestly, I was so shocked. As I understood, we were directed to use the facilities by the tour director, so the owner should have spoken to him. After, several of us decided not spend our money at his store. At the end of the day, there are SO MANY places in Milan with better pastries and owners that appreciate customers rather than scream at them.
