27/06/2025: Yesterday I had the pleasure of dining at Piron dal Re. I was pleasantly surprised by the welcome, the attentive and friendly service, the inviting and genuine dishes, and the quality wines. Definitely a place I recommend to anyone looking for a special place for any occasion!! Well done, really well done!!

22/08/2025: After a couple of attempts to try the restaurant's cuisine, the third one was a success. We had an appetizer of gratinated scallops and two spaghetti with lobster. Both dishes met our expectations. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was very clean and reflects what one would expect from a mountain restaurant. We will definitely return when we're in the area, just make sure to book ahead.

12/08/2025: The quality of Jimmy's ice cream is beyond question, but the shakes were a total disappointment: we ordered a Big 5 and a Melon Refresher for the modest sum of €6 each, but both were tasteless. Honestly, given the price and the fact that they're advertised as "award-winning," I expected more, much more. Failed.

11/08/2025: Two years ago, I left my first 5-star review because I was very satisfied. Being used to coming almost every summer for about three weeks, and having ice cream every day or almost every evening, I've noticed a lot of changes. My in-laws, who have been from Muggia for over thirty years, also frequent Jimmy's often. The ice cream remains very good, nothing to complain about the quality. However, the portions have become smaller than before, which is a shame. The prices have gone up a bit, but that doesn't particularly bother me (in France, the quality isn't necessarily better and the prices aren't lower). What bothers me more is the fact that the scoops are getting smaller and smaller. The thing that really disappointed my in-laws and me was the attitude of some waiters/waitresses, who don't hesitate to criticize customers behind their backs at the counter about their behavior or lifestyle. In particular, a young blonde waitress with very light eyes and her hair tied in braids behaved coldly or unpleasantly on several occasions. For example, during an aperitif where there were ten of us, we asked, as usual, for chips upon our arrival, and she curtly replied that "it's not cocktail time anymore." This kind of welcome really doesn't make us want to stay. Sometimes, her service even bordered on ignorance. A serious briefing and staff reorganization would be necessary. It's a shame, because the potential is there, and we hope that next summer will be better.

16/08/2025: We had a wonderful meal, very friendly service. The owner was a bit of a disappointment. We had informed them that we were three campers. When we arrived, parking was limited, so we left them along the road with one wheel on the green. We asked the restaurant manager, who said it was no problem. First, the owner came to the table to grumble halfway through dinner, then, once we left and moved the campers, he started checking the blades of grass with a flashlight. They were simply down, but according to him, there were ditches!!! We definitely won't be returning, nor will we recommend it; he made a terrible impression.

18/08/2025: We just had dinner. Everything was good except for the "I know my chickens" main course, which was burned and the portion was really small (you should know that).

16/08/2025: I've written many times that I'm a seeker of art and charm in food. I particularly appreciate the attention and care of those who put so much effort into their restaurant, which isn't always adequately rewarded by diners who aren't always gourmets. I'm writing from the local area; trust me, it deserves nothing but praise. Having stumbled upon it not by chance, but by intuition, I recommend not only dinner but also the overnight stay. The quality/price ratio is enviable. I'd recommend it to friends and acquaintances. Nando's word.

02/06/2025: What a great discovery! The facility is large, well-kept and super welcoming, perfect for a relaxing day or a party. The managers are really kind and helpful, you can feel that they put their heart into what they do. The food is excellent, from the hot dishes to the fabulous platters of cold cuts and cheeses: a real treat! Absolutely to try!

13/08/2025: I went there for dinner with friends after asking if they had a vegan option. For my appetizer, I was offered a very beautiful salad with well-balanced flavors, but definitely light. For my first course, I had stuffed pasta with vegetable sauce. This dish was also good but quite light. Plant-based proteins were completely absent from the menu. The effort is certainly appreciated, but I suggest considering more nutritionally complete plant-based dishes, just like the standard options already are.

27/08/2025: In my opinion, THE BEST ICE CREAM PARLOR IN UDINE!! Excellent quality! Wide variety of flavors!! Try the SICILIAN CASSATA flavor, it's addictive! Most importantly, they're all gluten-free, even the semifreddos! CONGRATULATIONS!

25/08/2025: Delicious, plentiful dishes. Kudos to the chef, who cooks with flair without overdoing the seasoning. The husband-and-wife team are courteous and helpful. The price is unbeatable. Recommended, but make sure to book because it's popular and seats are limited.

10/08/2025: Excellent lunch and excellent service. The owners were very kind and even the pets were very cuddly ❤️. After walking the trail to Malga Priu and returning, we stopped for lunch at this refuge, we ate very well and relaxed. The refuge is truly beautiful both inside and out ☺️. We paid around €80 for 2 Radlers, 1 beer, 1 grilled cheese, 1 plate of canederli, 1 plate of gnocchi with ricotta (delicious) and butter, 1 venison with polenta, and finally a platter of cured meats and cheeses + 1 coffee. We will definitely be back, see you soon ☺️👋🏼

27/08/2025: Very good pizza. Average prices. Call at lunchtime to order pizza for dinner, otherwise there's a bit of a wait. The timing is perfectly respected! Supermarket parking is available. Only a few slices on display; they do a lot of takeout and do it well!
