Typical restaurant with excellent traditional cuisine: from mocetta to risotto with fontina to grolla.
Modest but dignified rooms, with beautiful views of the mountains.

23/03/2024: Il Balivo is the best restaurant in Champoluc, it is welcoming, elegant but rustic at the same time, you eat typical dishes that are revisited at the same time, local products at zero km, be careful: the dishes are really very abundant!!! Go there with a big appetite because it's worth trying everything, from appetizers to desserts! Well-stocked local wine list. Courtesy of the staff 8 stars, congratulations! Just remember to book well in advance, otherwise you won't find a place!

Scelta di piatti tipici, carne alla brace, e piatti particolari a seconda della stagione!
Personale gentile e presente
Tutto buonissimo
Alcuni piatti ( come gli agnolotti ) sono veramente un’esplosione di sapore al palato!
La carne alla brace a dir poco spettacolare!
Unica pecca forse sono i dolci, aggiungerei qualcosa di più particolare per rimanere in linea con quello che offre la struttura

An expensive restaurant in the center of Aosta where they make fun of you.
A very long wine list awaits you at the table, but when you order there isn't what you want (NONE). They bring you what they want without telling you the price... and a TAC surprise on the bill.

01/04/2024: During our stay in Val d'Aosta, we had lunch twice. We had a great time. Everyone is kind. Good food. I advise.
30/03/2024: Three of my friends and I were kicked out of the restaurant because a friend of mine was laughed at by the waiters because he is gay and by doing so they made him feel bad, so our friend intervened asking the waiters if they had problems with our friend, then she wrote a negative review on Google of the place that there are homophobic waiters who made our friend feel bad by making him feel uncomfortable, as soon as the owner read the review he immediately came to our table, taking away from me and my friends the dishes while we were eating and I ask to leave, threatening our friend that she would sue her for defamation if she didn't delete the review she had written.
It's shameful that it's 2024 and these things are still happening.

30/03/2024: We had a very good time, the staff were friendly and quick in service. Good food, we took the tasting menu and the fondue menu, nothing to say. I found only a few à la carte options for those who are not lovers of cotechino and wild boar, I would invite you to include a few more first and second courses on the menu.
The characteristic, clean and welcoming environment. I would distance the tables by removing some.

06/04/2024: Brewery in Champoluc. Varied menu with attention to local products. I had a delicious toast with gruyère and smoked ham served with excellent french fries, hamburger with Tropea onion, very tender meat and homemade bread. 0 km ice cream, excellent strudel. Large and excellent quality of beers. The coffee is served in mug-shaped cups. Well-kept place, very clean, very friendly staff, good prices. I recommend it

31/03/2024: Dearest, it's not worth it, after a sandwich costing 13.90 you're still hungry and you even pay the €2 cover charge!! Or maybe they cheated 4 kids by putting this on their bill too.

30/03/2024: A very characteristic place, very well-trained and welcoming staff, the dishes ordered are truly excellent, the cheese trolley comparable to SANTA BABILONIA, the wine list excellent.
I recommend trying the chef's dish of the day.

09/03/2024: Beautiful characteristic place in Cogne. Super attentive and kind service, we received a welcome appetizer with an excellent spiced wine! Then we were advised not to order too much in order to properly enjoy the dish we had chosen to share: fondue! Really spacey, excellent and plentiful! It's a shame we weren't able to taste the desserts, with the coffee they also bring a homemade hazelnut biscuit... in short, everything is spectacular including the location and the bread!!! Also highly recommended for the quality-price ratio!

31/03/2024: What a pleasant surprise. For the first time, after the reopening with the new management, we find an excellent welcome, in a location that is always up to par. Excellent service, a very well assorted wine list, with prices for all palates. The dishes are presented very well and even better when you taste them. Quality and care in the cuisine, they offer a truly assorted and delicious menu. Well done…! From appetizers to desserts, everything is worth trying. We will definitely be back. Price appropriate to the quality, position and location, without exaggerating.
