06/04/2024: I returned to Foligno for a few days and had dinner three times at Shanghai; I had a very good time! The quality of the food was excellent, the preparation was good and the quantity was acceptable! I took Chinese dishes and found them excellent! Good value for money!! Recommended allyoucaneat, especially for lunch!!

28/01/2024: It is just outside of Foligno and we would have had a hard time finding it without a navigation system. The house would hardly be recognizable as a hotel and restaurant if it hadn't been for a small sign above the door. You first reach a small coffee bar via a narrow staircase and wonder whether there really is lunch here. Only when you pass the bar and reach the dining room through a narrow corridor do you realize that it is larger than it appears from outside. Before we even ordered anything, a plate of bruschette and a bottle each of still and medium water were placed on the table. We didn't see a menu on our first visit; instead, the chef explained in words what was available today. However, on our second visit almost two years later there was also a printed menu. The coratella di agnello as a starter was very good, as was the tortelini with truffles. On our second visit to the restaurant, the two of us shared "Antipasto misto completto" with various cold and warm starters, followed by "Faraona in salmì" [guinea fowl deliciously prepared] and "Strapazzo uova al tartuffo" [scrambled eggs with truffles]. Dessert was no longer possible after that, but we gratefully accepted bitters and limoncello.

29/10/2023: The pastry shop also offers bar service, there are outdoor tables but unfortunately only one table inside the restaurant. We stopped for breakfast because the Hotel La Torretta where we stayed and just a few meters away does not offer breakfast. We were welcomed with attention and kindness. The showcase is full of inviting products. They also make bread and pizzas. We had cream and pistachio croissants and a cake with Nutella. The croissants had an exceptional flavor that has nothing to do with those usually found in bars: fresh and tasty. The pistachio cream is equally good. Sweets just right. We spent €8.20. Highly recommended. If we were to visit Foligno again we will return here.

12/02/2024: Simple but great tasting food - seasoned well and cooked well, especially the chicken. Looks like it’s where the local chefs hang out to eat. Would bring a family here.

23/01/2024: Interesting concept. Kind of a tapas bar, kind of a buffet, kind of an a la carte restaurant. Food is typical of the region. It can't be considered haute cuisine, but it's different and well made. Service is friendly and willing. Staff speak English, so if you're a tourist it's user friendly. Local Canapa beer is excellent. If you know, you know.

07/01/2024: Colpiti dall’esterno che lascia subito presagire la bellezza del ristorante, ci fidiamo dell’istinto ed entriamo..da quel momento ogni cosa è stata magica. L’accoglienza professionale pur non avendo prenotato, il servizio altrettanto professionale del personale di sala. Il posto signori miei vale il prezzo del biglietto. Un museo non un ristorante e l’atmosfera che si vive all’interno ti porta con la testa e con il palato…altrove. Si perché va bene la bellezza del posto, ma non è solo questo. Si mangia divinamente. Dal nostro antipasto (coratella di agnello, con scarpetta doverosa annessa), alla carbonara di carciofi e guanciale e soprattutto al piccione veramente veramente buono. Prezzo assolutamente congruo alla qualità dei prodotti e al servizio, non dimentichiamoci del servizio, fornito. 10 e lode

06/01/2024: Sono andata il giorno dell' epifania con la mia famiglia. Locale molto bello e curato, il personale tutto molto cordiale e gentile la ragazza che ci ha servito è stata carinissima. Menù vario e con piatti particolari fatti bene e molto buoni. Prezzi adeguati alla qualità dei piatti e alla location.

18/02/2024: Recensione del menu percorso di terra appena inserito ( vedi sito o IG del ristorante): mi piace molto il menù nuovo condiviso su alcune portate che vengono servite a centro tavola e da dividersi, la serie di antipasti molto ben bilanciata, le materie prime lavorate bene e questa parte giocosa un po’ finger food ,un po’ street food (come il taco ) e il piccola Aperitivo da bere analcolico sono azzeccate, da brio al percorso . Risotto da lacrime un esplosione di sapori , lo gnocco proposto se proprio devo trovare un qualcosa gli manca quella spinta di sapidità, esecuzione perfetta ma quel particolare che dice Sbam forse manca . Il secondo di agnello , trattato benissimo e cotto in maniera eccelsa aveva un umani intenso e la versa con la sua salsa idem . Sgroppino pre dolce a pulire il palato e Dolce French Toast con caramello salato degna chiusura ! Percorso di carne a mio avviso molto ben bilanciato sia nelle quantità che nei tempi , sicuramente la parte pane in un percorso con diverse salse, creme e intingoli , fa sì che ne abusi un po’ ma non è mai mancato anzi i ragazzi in sala attenti lo anno portato piú volte chiedendo sempre . La parte della carta dei vini , c’è sempre una scelta eccelsa delle etichette le proposte sono sempre delle scoperte bravi tutti , lo chef ha tirato su una bella squadra, si sente tutta la passione che mette in questo progetto . Consiglio se volete un po’ di ordinario rivisitato straordinario!

We’ve been to many 1 star Michelin restaurants that are not as good! Definitely coming back after they reopen after their winter break!
