18/08/2025: We visited the Pienzenau Restaurant in Merano on a balmy summer evening last week and were thrilled from the start. The stunning location, nestled between the vineyards and the old town of Merano, impressed us. The magnificent garden surrounding the property is a true gem and invites you to linger. Our seat on the terrace offered a wonderful view of the property and garden – a perfect setting for a special evening. The hostess and her team welcomed us warmly, immediately creating a familiar and homely atmosphere. Culinary delights left nothing to be desired: We enjoyed a fantastic three-course menu that will remain with us forever. The taste, quality, and presentation were of the highest standard. The team was also perfectly prepared for my gluten-free requests – without any prior notice. We would especially like to mention the young ladies in the waiting room – incredibly attentive, courteous, and always warm. All in all, it was an evening we will cherish for a long time to come. 02/05/2025: Wir waren wie jedes Jahr, mal wieder im Knödelglück , mit Freunden, zum Essen und um den herrlichen Blick über Meran zu genießen. Der Service war nicht wie immer herzlich und freundlich, was uns schon ein bisschen irritierte,lauter fremde Gesichter. Die Karte schien auch etwas geschrumpfter mit weniger Angeboten. Wie bestellten 2x Knödeltris, Schnitzel und Gnocchi mit Ragout. Die Knödel kamen aus der Tüte,das Schnitzel aus der Fritteuse und das Ragout war trocken und lieblos hergerichtet. Wir bestellten zu den Knödeln extra Krautsalat,der sonst dazu gehörte, und bekamen einen kleinen Klecks dick geschnittenes Kraut, das geht gar nicht. Auf den sonst so leckeren Nachtisch verzichteten wir! Uns schien es, als wenn der Besitzer gewechselt hat . Das war nicht das Essen welches wir gewohnt waren.Schade!

13/03/2026: A very comfortable hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. We really appreciated the spa, which was new and relaxing, with large relaxation areas. The Guest Pass to reach the cable car station was very useful. Our only comments: the room was a bit warm and there was no bidet. We plan to return!

28/09/2025: Peter and David, two originals, make you forget the everyday. A quaint wine bar, tucked away in a back courtyard on Rennweg. A must-stop. The wine advice and the wines are top-notch, the snacks to accompany the wine are delicious. The music will make you dream of times gone by, and to top it off: our Giant Schnauzer, Digger, is never left out 😊
